This ten acre, private, property has 428 ft. of walk-on oceanfrontage. The home has 3 bedrooms, each with outside access and their own outdoor seating area. The 'port hole bedroom' has a queen bed, with ocean views. The second bedroom, queen bed, enjoys the morning sun. The third, queen bed, opens to the main deck and ocean views. The house has 1.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area for up to 8 people, and living room with a cozy wood stove. A television, CD player, iPod docking station and DVD player/video library are supplied. The front of the house has a deck with an outdoor dining area and a propane BBQ for use of our guests. Indoor board games and some outdoor game equipment are provided, like croquet and badminton. There's a horseshoe pitch for fun tournies. At the house level, you can enjoy a classic weiner roast at the campfire pit and picnic area. Accommodation is ideal for couples, small groups or families.
If you like nature, you'll love Denman Island. We see deer walk through our property routinely, there's a wide variety of birds, a common site is bald eagles soaring overhead. Great blue herons stand solitary guard at their positions on our beach. The property is not overly manicured, so you can enjoy wildflowers and native plants. There's a large grass field for sports.
The house is nestled on top of a ridge, among maple and Douglas fir trees, overlooking the mountains of Vancouver Island and the waters of Baynes Sound. From the home, the beach is accessed by a private path that traverses through the fir and arbutus forest. Great for swimming, beachcombing, birdwatching, canoing, kayaking, hiking, exploring and enjoying the glorious sunsets.

About 5 years ago this undeveloped property was for sale and we fell in love with the beautiful, west facing oceanfrontage. Since then we've been building the house, putting in the services, and landscaping. Out of our efforts has come has evolved our home grown country estate. We are happy to be able to share it with others and expect that you will enjoy the property as much as we do!
Denman Island offers island living, but is uniquely positioned for day trips, too. Visit neighbouring Hornby Island with it's beautiful swimming beaches, Helliwell Provincial Park, and lots of food eateries. Or take the ferry back to Vancouver Island for a day's golfing, spelunking, or skiing. Or enjoy all that Denman has to offer: cycle to local farmer's produce stands, explore the beach, take a tour of the Chocolate Factory, enjoy good home cooking at local restaurants, poke around at local artist's studios, kayak to pristine Tree Island Park, or lounge in a hammock with a good book.
Outdoor badminton and bocce equipment available.
Bring a soccer ball, baseball equipment or other sports gear for playing in the large field.
