Our home is located between Vermont State Parkland (Coolidge State Park) and fronts on the Ottaquechee River with 880 feet of road frontage on the river. Our Home offers all modern day convenience with a back to nature views through the massive windows throughout the house. We have had the pleasure of several moose sightings as well as turkey and deer rambling about on occasion. Whatever the season Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall there is much to do in the area.
We are 3 minutes from Killington's Skyeship gondola, 8 short miles to Pico, 15 minutes from historic Woodstock and 20 minutes from Okemo Ski Basin. Enjoy many of the outdoor activities skiing, hiking, antiquing, golfing, cross-country skiing, fishing right on the property (where my neighbor caught a 20 inch trout last year), dining at one of several top rated restaurants in the area, wine tasting on the mountain or one of the ongoing concert series in the area.
The Long Trail and Appalachian Trail are within walking distance from our location and several local trails start in Woodstock as well. Enjoy a home cooked barbecue on the grill, a bonfire in the firepit, lawn games or a stretch in the sun on the 80 foot outdoor deck with plenty of seating on 2 picnic tables and several lawn chairs surrounded by hummingbirds and tiger lilies while you listen to music from the stereo or watch a movie on the 32 inch screen entertainment center with a DVD library.
The Killington Ottaquechee House has more than 2800 square feet of living space. The interior design is an open flowing 46 foot kitchen-dining-entertainment area that drifts into the Great Room with 16 foot high cathedral ceilings, 30+ windows, wood burning stove, 4 ceiling fans with seating in the dining room for 10, 5 sofa's (one pullout sleeper), stereo, TV and video library. When a chill hits the evening air enjoy the Wood Stove and let the aroma of a fire take you a more relaxed and peaceful place as the warmth takes over and you enjoy the open fire view.
If you had a hard day of skiing, hiking, boating, golfing, etc. and you need a little privacy drop back to the 10 person Hot Tub room with 62 jets of pulsating 102 degree water massaging your tired body while you enjoy the blue glow of the internal hot tub lighting to set the mood. Take in the all pinewood ceiling and walls with recessed dimmed lighting & wrap around windows with views on all sides of the Ottaquechee River flowing by or the birds and nature outside of your window. If it gets a little warm jump out through the 10 foot glass sliding doors on to the deck to cool off for a couple of minutes of fresh Vermont air or sit and chat in the ski chairs or retire to the adjacent bedroom for a relaxing evening wrapping yourself into the soft queen size bed. Talk about relaxing....the Ritz can't beat this.
Our home is friendly and functional at the same time. Enter the mudroom entrance that provides an area for hanging wet clothes and boots or going out to the deck off the living area or directly from the Hot Tub Room. There's a full washer/dryer room on the second floor down the hall from the 3 upstairs bedrooms (the first bedroom has two single beds with pull outs beneath, the second bedroom has 2 sets of bunkbeds - the kids room with 4 beds and the master suite has a queen size bed with incredible views of the Ottaquechee River and 3.5 acres and 880 foot frontage you are welcome to enjoy for fishing, bathing, just watching the river go by. Upstairs provides a full bath as well.
Each bedroom has its own large closet and modern pine dressers, vanities & night tables to match the warmth of the all pinewood walls and hallway.
