About Jennifer Tomkins
Born in UK, we met at the University of Reading and shortly afterwards moved to South Africa and then to the States -- that was in 1984 and was supposed to be for one year. Today, we still live in Illinois and our children have grown up in the US. We bought Casale Monastero sul Colle last year as somewhere we could share with our friends and family -- especially those who live in Europe -- as well as with visitors from around the world. We look forward to meeting you.
Jennifer Tomkins purchased this chateau / country house in 2012
Why Jennifer Tomkins chose Montelparo
It was not supposed to be this property! We had envisaged something less grand -- until we fell in love. We have always bought our homes based on how they make us feel. As for Le Marche itself, it is quite simply one of the most beautiful places in the world (much of which, between us, we have seen). Added to which, the local people are warm and welcoming and there is a wealth of things to do such a take yoga classes with our charming Dutch neighbor who also owns a saffron farm, hike or horseback ride, explore the local hill towns, wine taste, or simply relax in the serenely beautiful grounds or by the pool. NOTE: If you need extra space, there is a self-contained apartment at the western end of the property that provides and additional bedroom with a queen bed.
What makes this chateau / country house unique
At Casale Monastero, we think that you will feel 'at home' and at peace. The house, with its sense of history, and its beautiful setting will lift your spirits and calm your mind. At the end of every day, the sun will set over the pool, the ruined chapel, the skyline of Santa Vittoria and the Sibillini mountains beyond. At the end of your stay we believe you will feel renewed and refreshed.
