About Wenda Blankenship, Manager

Jerry and Terry Waymire bought this cabin in 2012. They love the outdoors especially being in the woods and playing on the water. They also love being with their children and grandchildren outdoors and on the water.

Why Wenda Blankenship, Manager chose Broken Bow

We bought this property because we love the area, we love the outdoors, and we love being near water. We wanted to be able to get away and to allow others to come and get away too.

What makes this cabin unique

Easy on and off to main highway with circle drive and plenty of parking. Very close to great restaurants, Stephens Gap Marina turnoff and Beaver's Bend Dam turnoff.

Nice Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at the cabin. No problems at all. The new BBQ, Store, Ice Cream parlor and mini golf place is actually connected to the same road, so was super easy to get over to. The drive into the park was super convenient as well. The only down-side was the noise due to the proximity to the highway, but at 500+ feet away, was a very minor annoyance when hanging out front. Enjoyed the hot tub!

Great Place to take the whole Family!

  • 4 of 5

This was our first trip to Broken Bow, and we really lucked out with this cabin! Hot Tub was clean, the bathroom was spotless, and there were plenty of board games in case of rain! A family of two adults and 3 kids (under age 12) fit just perfectly. The fire pit was lovely, the grill was handy (bring your charcoal), and the yard games (including horseshoes) were a nice touch!

The location had both a down side (could see and hear busy road, but not too close to cause us to worry about the kids playing out front) and an up side (I don't know if you could find a location any closer to the Park without actually being IN the park! Not to mention nearby restaurant, ice cream parlor and mini-golf...)

We will be back!

Bear Hollow - Broken Bow

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I went to Broken Bow to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first trip there and we are now officially obsessed with the area. Our cabin was perfect for our needs. It had a large deck with a hot tub that overlooked the fenced in backyard, which all 3 of our dogs absolutely loved as well. It was very adorable and super cozy.

Overall, we had a great experience with our rental. It would have been even better if the setting was a little more intimate/tucked away into the woods. We could see the neighboring cabins from the back porch and since our cabin was situated right off of the main road going through BB, we were able to see and hear the cars passing by whenever we were hanging out front by the campfire/grilling area. On the plus side of that, it was close to everything (restaurants, the lake, state park, hiking trails, the river, etc).

The cabin was a little dated, but clean (except for a couple of cigarette butts that we found in the dryer - probably from the previous renter). The biggest disappointment was definitely the patio furniture. The chairs and tables were in VERY poor condition and either need to be replaced or given a thorough cleaning. It was such a shame too, because it was so nice being out on the deck. Despite that, we would love to rent this cabin again (if it's available) when we return this summer.

Owner's Response: I do thank you for your honest review. I do apologize for anything you found in the dryer and will take steps to see that this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. Also, I apologize for your finding the patio furniture unclean and unready to enjoy. It is one of our goals to make sure that this cabin is always clean and ready for our guests to enjoy. We want to make sure that our guests have a great stay and that is why we have just bought a brand new mattress for the master bedroom, put in a new firepit and bought a new hot tub. Again, thank you for your review and we hope you will stay with us again.

Awesome Couples Trip at Bear Hollow!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Hollow! The cabin looks small when you first pull up, but the inside is super cute and inviting! The 3 bedrooms had queen beds, which were plenty big for each couple. The kitchen is stocked well with everything you would need to cook or grill. The back patio is very nice as well, but we mainly hung out by the fire making s'mores. The cabin is also very close to the boat ramp at Steven's Gap. Very convenient! There were only 2 drawbacks to the cabin. The first would be that there is only one bathroom and no bathtub, only a shower, so it gets a little busy with 6 people, especially with women! The other would be that there are 2 window units. One in the kitchen area, and one in the master bedroom. They do a really good job of cooling the cabin off when all of the doors are open, but we did have to leave the master bedroom door open the second night because the other two rooms got really hot. These things were definitely not enough to ruin our fun! It was a great weekend and we plan on returning to Bear Hollow very soon!!

We had a wonderful experience in this cabin - the 3 bedrooms were perfect for us! We were off the beaten path but still very close to the park. We would definitely stay here again!
