We built this hacienda as a luxury retreat to recharge and reconnect with family and friends. With six grown children and spouses in NYC, London, SF, and other parts of the world, our hacienda is the ideal gathering place to enjoy sparkling blue skies, majestic mountains, colorful Western lore and lasting memories.

We designed and built this home to reflect an authentic Spanish colonial-style hacienda evocative of an authentic ranch hacienda built over a century ago. Wide archways, tiled halls, deep-set casement windows, rustic wooden beams all reflect this historic patina. Yet, this hacienda boasts the luxuries of modern life - widescreen hi-def TV's, wi-fi, gourmet cooking, luxurious bathrooms, a remote-controlled pool and spa. All situated on 5 private, secluded acres just 1.5 miles from the unique artist colony of Tubac, Arizona.
State-of-the-art tiled 38 foot pool with attached spa; access to the famous 27-hole Red Lawrence championship course at the Tubac Golf and Country Club; minutes from the shops and restaurants of Tubac or famous historical sites in the area. 40 minutes from Tucson International Airport, 2.5 hrs from Phoenix.
Our family of 6--4 adults and 2 children--loved staying at this beautiful hacienda. Everything from the reservation to the check in and out procedure was very smooth. The location was great for our family of birdwatchers. Perfectly isolated, plenty of birds in the adjacent desert, and close enough to Madera Canyon and other birding destinations to make frequent daytrips. The kitchen and grill are easy for family cooking--plenty of cookware and dishes. Loved relaxing by the pool and watching the sunrise in the mornings. If you are coming with children, be sure to meet Barney the donkey who lives down the road. We look forward to returning to this luxurious home and enjoying the Arizona countryside again.
This was the vacation we had been looking for. The house is absolutely perfect and the images do not do it justice. We spent our days in the backyard/courtyard and our nights cooking great meals in the amazing kitchen. The owner and caretaker were very easy to work with. We look forward to coming back soon.
We just returned from a week in Tubac and had a wonderful time. The pictures and description of the home and setting are spot on. The house is beautifully designed and well-provisioned with a great kitchen and dining room for family meals. The owners and their caretakers were responsive and helpful. We had hours of fun in the pool, hot tub and courtyard area. We enjoyed relaxing at the hacienda, golfing at the resort, shopping and dining in Tubac, hiking in Madera Canyon and on the Anza Trail, cycling with our road bikes, exploring in Saguaro National Park and learning at the Pima Air and Space Museum and Mission Mine. Our party included ages 7 to 70 and we all had a blast. We would love to come back!
Wonderful family home, beautifully laid out for guests, and beautifully appointed.
Kitchen was great. Loved the pool area for parties and music!
We had several couples and then our adult children who want to return next year. There's so much to do in the Tubac area. We've been coming for years but this was our first experience renting in this area. Not a hitch. Best vacation we have ever had. Friends and family. The owners were easy and wonderful to work with.
My siblings and I, along with spouses, wanted to have a reunion with our parents who live nearby. We found Hacienda de Anza on VRBO and booked it. Before getting there we communicated with the owners a number of times. They were very helpful, responded quickly and really went out of their way to make our stay there wonderful. The last evening of our stay, as we were enjoying the hot tub and trying to name the constellations we could see, we decided that we wanted to come back to this fabulous house next year. Research southern Arizona for the many activities available including biking, hiking, birding, Kartchner Caverns, walking across the border for lunch at La Roca in Nogales or just hanging out by the pool. You can do as little or as much as you want. The home is very easy to cook, relax and live in. We look forward to returning.
We recently stayed at the Tubac House and could not have asked for a better time. The pictures on the site are very accurate. The pool and spa a fantastic. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal We made Thanksgiving dinner for 10 and there was plenty of room. The nearby town was neat and the golf course was a great find. I would definitely recommend this place, you will be very happy if you go.
A short 5 minute drive or 1.5 mile bike ride brings you to Tubac’s historic barrio and colonial Spanish Presidio, founded in 1752. Peruse dozens of traditional and folk art galleries and craft shops. Dine at several local restaurants or enjoy a meal in downtown Tucson. Nearby, visit centuries old Tumacacori Historic Park & Church or the San Xavier del Bac Indian Mission and Casino. Walk, or ride, the historic Anza Trail, following Spanish explorer Juan Baptiste de Anza who trekked from Tubac across New Spain to establish the Mission at San Francisco, California in 1775. Play the spectacular 27-hole course designed by Red Lawrence. Pamper yourself at the Spa or have drinks, lunch or dinner at the Club. Several local stables offer half- day or full-day pack rides through the Santa Cruz Valley and Coronado National Park. Explore thousands of acres concealing Geronimo’s Apache hideouts and secluded mountain canyons preserving giant Saguaro, Cholla and Ocotilla cacti. The area is world renowned for exceptional bird-watching, too.
