As if from a picture postcard terrace, views from the property open onto Tuscan farmhouses, olive groves and the village of Pari, with Mount Amiata in the background. The landscape, the lack of roads (the only road in the neighbourhood ends up in the woods), the meadows, the olive trees, the oak and holm-oak woods surrounding the building and the warm natural colours of this land create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, where peace and silence reign. The caretaker/property manager lives next door. A staircase leads to the first-floor apartment rented to tourists, while on the ground floor are some storerooms, a fitness room, a laundry room and a romantic double bedroom with ensuite shower room. The veranda is furnished with table and chairs. On the grounds are a brick barbecue and the original wood oven located in a covered porch with table and benches. Summer Kitchen available. There are mosquito nets on windows and doors.

History of the Petriolo Thermal Baths: The earliest records of the Baths of Petriolo date back to 1230, although they were already known in Roman times. In the area Etruscan and Roman artifacts have been found, both in the provinces of Grosseto and Siena.
In early 1400 the first spa was built in brick on the northern bank of the river Farma, in the municipality of Monticiano. The structure, still seen today, was fortified with stone walls and porch.
The history of the Baths of Petriolo is full of illustrious people who visited the sulphurous waters of Petriolo: Galeazzo Malatesta of Pesaro (in 1437) to the cardinals and John Giordano Vitelleschi Orson former archbishop of Naples, to John and Francis Marquis of Mantua. Pope Pius II, Enea Silvio Piccolomini, returned repeatedly to the baths to cure his arthropathy (arthritis).
