My name is Brian and my wife's name is Stacy and we are avid travelers who love to dive/snorkel and this island just blew away every other place we have been in the Caribbean, so we decided to build a vacation/retirement home here. We spend 4-6 weeks during the cold northern winter months living on the island, leaving it available for weekly, and monthly rentals for all other months of the year. Just contact us about availability for your particular date and we can provide you with additional information, pictures, and booking information.
Brian Grandt purchased this house in 2006
We choose this property location due to it's outstanding location between the two most popular area's on the island, West Bay Beach, and West End town. It allows us and our visitor's to take advantage of both of these locations while allowing for a quiet respite when we decide to relax and sleep. The sunset, and canopy views are truly second to none along with a large variety of birds, and wildlife. It is truly paradise!
The thing that really made us fall in love with this home was sitting in the hammock's and watching the sun set over the beautiful blue water's of the Caribbean. What's not to like about that?
What a trip! My time spent at the treehouse was everything I wanted it to be... The relaxing moments watching sunrises and sunsets cocktail in hand, sleeping with an ocean breeze, or listening to the various wildlife were exactly what I needed to refuel and take in life's slower moments. The adventure-filled walks to West Bay, snorkeling, floating in the water, trips to the market, dinners in West End and other island adventures kept me experiencing new things. The treehouse was an amazing place to stay. The porches are amazing and the place is very well maintained. The kitchen is fully appliance-stocked. The bathrooms are clean with running hot water. You can really tell that Brian and Stacy are showing their guests a piece of their hearts. Carribean style :)
My wife and I stayed in the treehouse for our wedding anniversary and it was an amazing week. The serenity and seclusion from the active west bay was exactly what we wanted.
The house was clean and very well taken care of! We arrived and found all the household instructions were spot on. Brian was informative and made himself available for all our questions and concerns. We felt safe, secure and well informed about the house and local community.
It's important to note that transportation and getting to the West Bay or West End is a little time consuming but worth the adventure if you don't mind walking up and down a couple of hills.
The house was equipped with Snorkel gear that we had no intentions on using but found it to be one of the highlights of our time on the island. The snorkeling was truly world class and without having had the gear to use, we might not have experienced the amazing underwater life.
Overall, the house is highly recommended for an independent visit with privacy, and amazing views!!
I was fortunate enough to spend about a week at The TreeHouse and couldn't have asked for more. My days started with a great cup of coffee (with an ocean view) and then it was a quick walk right to the beach for me. I was able to enjoy crystal clear waters, unreal snorkeling adventures, zip lining, local cuisine, a few ice cold beers and a perfect sunset over the Caribbean every night. Thank you Brian & Stacey for being such wonderful hosts and allowing me to stay in your wonderful home. No doubt about it...I will be back!
We've been back for about a month now. Let me just say, its been one cold month! We miss Roatan and the TreeHouse very much! Many enjoyable mornings/evenings were spent on the beautiful deck having coffee/breakfast and playing cribbage. The sunsets especially were quite impressive, especially from the hammock! There were so many activities to do, we barely fit what we wanted to do within a 10 day stay. We can’t wait to go back! Thank you to Stacy and Brian for being wonderful hosts! Also, to our new friends Marlin and Carleen!
Bottom line, great place, great food, great people!

I spent 6 months living in the Treehouse while my home was being built. Great location, just minutes from the beach and situated between West Bay and West End. The ocean view is great and the screened in porch was wonderful. Great people to rent from.
We have just returned from four weeks in the Treehouse on Roatan. We loved to sit on the upper deck in the mornings to watch the birds, iguanas and multiple kinds of small lizards in the front yard. The view from the upper deck of the Caribbean and the sun setting in the evening was a part of our daily ritual. The Treehouse has a separate guest room on the bottom level which we used when friends arrived to share our adventure on the island. The screened in lower deck is a wonderful area for sitting in the evening with no fear of bugs, although we saw very few. We didn't rent a car, and walked to West Bay most days. We took a taxi home if we were out after dark. We felt very safe and secure in the house. Our correspondence with Brian was easy and trouble free. We would recommend this property to family and friends.
The Tree house is located 500 feet off the beach with western views of sunsets over the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. There is an endless amount of activities that await you on Roatan that include but are not limited to diving, snorkeling, zip line canopy tours, glass bottom kayaking, fishing charters, horseback riding, mangrove tours, spa's, airplane tours, submarine tours and many other exciting adventures that are awaiting your visit. From our house it is an easy 25-minute walk down the hill and along the beach to West End Town where there are bars, restaurants and groceries. It is also a 15-minute walk down the hill and along the beach to West Bay Beach, which is annually rated as one of the top ten beaches in the world. You could also sit on our beach all day by yourself, or walk out on the pier raise your hand and hale any passing boat like a taxi and they will pick you up and give you a ride to either place. There are many automobile taxi's available on the island as well just make sure you negotiate your fare with them before you get in for your ride. Car and scooter rentals are available at the airport, in West Bay and West End near our house. You will find many reputable and inexpensive restaurants and bars in West End and West Bay as well as street vendors and small shops that serve food depending on how adventurous you are. There is 1 supermarket within a reasonable distance from our house and there are many small grocery stores and deli's to get food, water and supplies for your stay. You may want to ask your cab driver to stop at one of the 2 supermarkets in Plaza Mar on your way to our house from the airport as they drive right past them to get to the house. They will usually do this for a small fee. There are ATM's available in West End, West Bay and Coxen Hole we will have an international cell phone available our guests which works with prepaid Tigo minutes that are widely available throughout the island. You can usually ask the people you buy the card from to input the minutes if your Spanish isn't very good as the directions are in Spanish. The diving in Roatan is excellent. The snorkeling from our beach is good, however the snorkeling from the far end of West Bay Beach is the best we've had anywhere in the Caribbean. The whole coast where the house is located is designated a marine park and is a protected reef which should help keep it that way for years to come. There is also a high speed ferry that goes to and from Roatan that lands in LaCeiba on the if you want to spend a day on the mainland to check out another area of Honduras. LaCeiba has incredible jungle rafting that is second to none in the world. This ferry also makes connections to the other nearby island of Utila. If you decide to take a snorkeling trip, or any of you would like to try scuba diving, we have made arrangements with a local dive shop to take care of our guests while they are there. Tyll's dive shop is located in the heart of West End and only caters to small groups.
Gumbalimba park is adjacent to our property and is very fun for a day. They offer all kinds of activities on land, and in the water. One of the 2 canopy zip lines that are within walking distance from our house is located here. Both zip lines start you out at the top of the mountain and land you on the beach all be it on opposite sides of the island. The other zip line is called South Shore canopy tours and is located at the entrance to our road from the main road. There is a decompression chamber and first aid care at Anthony's Key resort along with a local museum and dolphin adventure program. Good medical and pharmacy services are available, and there is a hospital in Coxen Hole a short drive from the house. We ask, and recommend that everyone who goes to the island visit this website for Clinica Esperanza. If you have time, are willing to look, can take along some items, and can make a donation of any medical supply's when you visit the island it would be greatly appreciated. The web site has a medicine request page for this clinic and they do great work for locals, and tourists who are on the island. Nurse Peggy has dedicated her life to helping all of the people who are on Roatan. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
We hope this helps and if you decide to go we can help you with all the arrangements!
