As the property is my private home, I always ask for some background information of the guest(s), like where ar you from, what do you do for a living, who are your travelling with.
I've loved Amsterdam ever since I moved there 30 years ago, and look forward to welcome you and help you make the best of your stay. I have travelled a lot and know what makes a homestay worthwhile. As my children (21 and 19) have left home to study, I now have the opportunity to offer my apartment for rent. I work for an ICT Multinational and study Arts & Culture. I like contemporary art of which you will find a lot in the apartment. And I cannot live without books so you will be surrounded by plenty of those too.

Once you see the apartment you'll understand why I still love it since we bought it 23 years ago! It has the best of both worlds: whilst in the middle of Amsterdam the place is very tranquil. The loft style apartment has lots of space; ceilings reach 6 meters. You'll find quiet, space and plenty of green in the garden. The popular nine streets area is around the corner. You can walk (or bike) to all the major attractions in the city. And as you step out of the historic front door you'll smile when you see the beautiful Herengracht canal.
The space, the height of the ceilings, the vide with it's overcrossing 'bridge', the huge windows and the quiet garden! On top of that: location, location, location.
Actually stayed 2013 in June. Our Europe trip ended with our city being flooded which caused us to move etc. We are now thinking of coming back one day soon and without a doubt this was by far the best. I did tons of research. Location is excellent safe and easy to get to everything. The home is just perfect in fact it was more than perfect. We had 5 of us plenty of room 2 adults grown kids. Made meals, sat outside in the lovely garden. It truly is a perfect memory of our journey #1 to Amsterdam and I'm delighted to see it still here. Thanks again and sorry for the too late review. Everything was delightful. The house was very spacious and very welcoming. The space was great, quiet and we had everything we needed. The garden and living room is a wonderful place to be at for our morning coffee. The folder with the information you provided was extremely helpful, basically all information was there. I believe the only time we couldn't find something, was how to order food for delivery, since it was our only day in. But instead we ended taking a walk around and it was a much better choice, since we got to see the town and scenery. We wouldn't change anything as it was perfect for us. Thank you once again for letting us into your beautiful home. Hope to be back real soon!
Our family stayed at Florentine's apartment for 5 amazing days. Not only is this apartment in the best location in Amsterdam, the apartment itself was incredible. It is not only spacious but also beautifully designed. The back patio is an amazing addition that you will probably have a hard time finding elsewhere. Florentine was incredibly helpful and gave us the best dinner recommendation of our entire trip. We would absolutely love to stay here again as it was such a lovely experience.
Awesome loft. It’s was exactly as described and photographed. This beautiful, spacious and unique loft had a lot to offered, with a great open layout, terrific art work and antiques, nice kitchen with all you need, three very comfortable and large size (for Europe) bedrooms with ample linen, three nice, functional bathrooms (two full and 1 half), and a great outdoor space. The loft’s centrally located and walking distance to Dam Square, trams, restaurants and shops. It’s very quiet at night even though it’s close proximity to all. The rental transaction with Florentine / Hein was easy and smooth. They were very responsive to all requests for information. They also gave good traveling and restaurant tips. We were a party of six and stayed for a week. It was truly a wonderful experience, when we go back to Amsterdam, we'll surely stay here.
Thank you Florentine and Hein.
This is a charming and excellent property! All of the quaint canal experience that you would long for in Amsterdam, but with roomy, contemporary conveniences. Spacious and comfortable for our family of 6. Well appointed and very personal without the overcrowding and overdecorating of some apartments. A warm, relaxed family experience.
Florentine was most friendly, accommodating and charming...as if a friend was sharing her personal home with you. The location was perfect. We were able to walk and explore the city with ease.
It was a great experience in every way. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen. The layout is good; so nice to have two separate baths....and a real bonus to have efficient washer and dryer! Everything was well thought out for the convenience of her guests.
You will be amazed by the fabulous glass wall and beautiful garden that makes this space so delightful. A very calm and inviting atmosphere to make your trip to Amsterdam most enjoyable.
Thank you, Florentine, for sharing your beautiful home!
My family of three stayed here 3 nights in March 2013. The property is exactly as pictured, but actually feels much larger, especially the main living room level. The ceiling there is very high and the windows looking out over the backyard area are huge. Very modern, comfortable furnishings with spotless bathrooms and kitchen. Every amenity we needed was there. The owner was extremely helpful, providing a notebook full of maps and recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. She made our arrangements for transport from and back to the airport. She even contacted us on the last day to remind us of the daylight savings time change (which we were clueless about, as the dates are different from the USA).
As my 2nd trip to Amsterdam, I knew exactly where to stay, and this location is perfect for tourists. The apartment is on the edge of the Nine Streets shopping district. The Anne Frank House is about 10 minutes away. Virtually every major tourist attraction is within a 20 to 30 minute walk, and walking the city itself is one the best highlights of any trip to Amsterdam. The location is a residential neighborhood, much quieter and cleaner than the city Centrum area and closer to many attractions than the Jordaan area . But less than a block away: shops, cafes, restaurants are right there. Ideal. It is on the Herengracht Canal. While there is no view of the canal from the apartment, the private backyard garden (yours to use) is much more practical and as beautiful in its own way.
The bottom line is that this is a memorable place to stay in a perfect location. For less than the price of 2 rooms at a mid-level Amsterdam hotel, your family can stay here instead. Recommended whole-heartedly.
Located in the historic center of Amsterdam, on the renown Herengracht Canal, part of the World Heritage Canal Ring. Walk to nearby museums with Rembrandt and Van Gogh, or to the Anne Frank House. Enjoy shopping in the Nine Streets area just around the corner of the apartment. Stroll along the canals and have coffee, lunch or dinner in one of the many restaurants of which you'll found plenty within walking distance.
