Cabin is two stories, but offers a cozy atmosphere that couples have cherished when visiting Mentone for many years. Enjoy all of the rustic atmosphere you expect when staying in the mountains, but with the modern conveniences you don't want to leave behind at home. Historic cabin is made of historic timbers that once comprised a slave residence in Tennessee. Living area includes a stone fireplace with tall glass doors/windows offering a gorgeous brow view. Step through doors to enjoy covered deck and hot tub. Full kitchen and bathroom complement the downstairs, with bedroom and second bath upstairs. Upstairs overlooks fireplace with windows offering stellar views.
Bill 'Hoot' & Martha Gibson (also owners of Cragsmere Manor just down County Road 89) have long offered this as one of Mentone's most cherished rental properties. The cabin is so highly loved that at times Gibson's have reserved this exclusively for visiting friends and family.
In an era of large, 'non-rustic' cabins, Mentone Brow'zzz'ing is the perfect, genuine setting for couples wanting a romantic getaway. This cabin is ideally suited for couples wanting nothing more than time with each other.
Mentone Brow'zzz'ing is just minutes from downtown Mentone and many other local attractions, without sacrificing prime brow placement. Since cabin is on the western brow, our guests experience beautiful sunsets each and every night.
We spent a weekend here to explore the Mentone/Lookout Mountain area. The cabin was a great place for a couple to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy fireplace and the "homey" feel of the cabin. It was a perfect weekend getaway and we hope to return sometime soon!
My wife and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary in this beautiful, rustic mountain cabin. We used this as our "home base" as we traveled to many destinations in Alabama, Tennessee & Georgia. This place felt just like home. Martha Gibson was so sweet, nice and helpful. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful & private getaway, this is THE perfect choice. Just minutes from downtown Fort Payne & Mentone, it's the perfect distance from the bustle of the cities, yet close enough to provide convenience to meet your needs. It's located within the DeSoto State Park and just a short hike from DeSoto Falls. WE'LL BE BACK and suggest you book your trip SOON. It's an amazing place to be!
This charming mountain cottage is the perfect space for any couple! Expect all the standard hotel ammenities (ample fresh linens, coffee w/ "fixins", basic toiletries), as well as many thoughtful extras (oversized towels for use post hot tub & firewood stacked on the back porch). Cozy without feeling cluttered, there are warm blankets and throws scattered throughout to heed off chilly mountain air. The love and care put into this cabin is evident, and it truly feels as though a member of the family has opened their home. Be sure to make an effort to take in the breathtaking sunset view from the back porch (or, better yet, the hot tub)! The owners were responsive and easy to work with from reservation to departure. We will definitely return and look forward to our next visit!
After months of looking for a place to go on our honeymoon we had almost decided on locking ourselves in our home with all our favorite movies and a ton of ice cream. We did not have much time only three days till I had to be back at work and the stress had got to me. I just wanted to get away from it all. I was sitting at work one day and I customer came in talking about the small town of Mentone , I looked it up and that was it only 2 hours away from home and looked so relaxing. My husband and I started right away looking for the right place stay, needless to say I wanted a newer place with a great view he wanted a log cabin in the woods. I was at work when I came across this perfect compromise. Brow’Zzz”ing was the spot so I booked it.
We had an amazing wedding and Sunday morning after dropping off a groomsman at the airport we headed out the directions the owner gave us took us down a beautiful country road past farms and wide open fields heaven does not even describe it. We then took a road that seemed to take you back to the natural beauty of the mountain winding as it climbed. It was so nice we cut off our air and rolled down the window my husband even found a classic country station on the radio. We ended up getting to the cabin early and had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Martha and her fur babies. It was nice to know that she goes in behind her cleaning person to make sure it is ready for her guest.
The cabin is full of artwork and history it was built for Mrs. Martha’s parent’s 50th wedding anniversary and you can tell that it has every ounce of love put into it. I knew the second we walked in that this was no compromise it was the right place for us.
The little town was so sweet and the lady at the gas station made an out of this world breakfast. The galleries are full of original art work none of that overpriced mad in china stuff .Such a refreshing slow feel to the town time truly has passed by .
The only bad thing I can say about this cabin the wonderful owners and this sweet town is We are not there now.
Thank you Martha and Hoot For a dream honey moon and a trip that will continue to be so special trip us for the rest of our lives .
My wife and I recently stayed at the BrowZzzIng rustic cabin. Martha was extremely easy to work with, and the cabin view was breath taking. We loved the cabin and will definitely return. Very relaxing and comfy!
A wonderful place to leave the world behind and unwind...This cabin is adorable with its furnishings and paintings..the wood burning fireplace was great and kept the cabin warm and cozy...the Hot tub is placed so your view is looking off the brow into the valley and the owners are like family with a warm greeting and having everything ready to make your stay a pleasure..everything is clean and the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans and even coffee for the coffee maker..there are plenty of big fluffy towels....you are minutes away from the town of Mentone with its unique shops and resturants or you can travel into Fort Payne and browse the antique shops. It'defs all well worth trying and we can't wait to return.
Cabin just minutes from DeSoto Falls (DeSoto State Park), downtown Mentone (many shops, restaurants). Multiple local businesses offer outdoor activities, from calm & laid-back to extreme (zipline 200+ feet over DeSoto Falls). Activities for every person/family.
