This is the house were you chill out! You can´t miss the good energy of the location. Everything is of the highest quality and taste. A large open kitchen invites to common cooking after having used the sauna and had a swim in the 16-meter long pool.
About Agneta von Essen Ryding

We are swedes with great interest in international relations and know that we get it in luberon. We have a large family, all living in stockholm. We are proud of the house that mixes swedish quality and design with french atmosphere.

Agneta is a interior designer and johan is working in finance. We bought our first house in the region, build in a typical provencal style, some 15 years ago but when we sold that house we decided to build this new house in a contemporary stile blended into the existing old ruins at the site.

Everyone who comes to the site can feel calm and at ease. The house is located with the courtyard to the south and a magnificent view to the north. The villa is on a slope which reinforces the sense of energy that comes down from the mountain.

Here, people have lived for hundreds of years!

What makes this villa unique

The opportunity to build on this place is unique! We desired a transparent house with amenities and has got more than we thought possible.

To enclose the ancient walls still standing made it even more exciting! A greeting to the past. The house has already won second price 'house of the year 2011

The luberon valley is the center of 'parc de luberon' which is a famous national park in france with its preserved small villages and nature. In the area there are beautiful vineyards open to the public with excellent wines which combined with the locally produced food is a sublime pleasure and a must. Interesting places to visit are: avignon: papal palaces gorde: the abby of senanque. Roussillon: ocher mines. Pont de gare: roman viaduct., ils sur sorge: the second largest antique market in france. The views, and walks in, for example, europes largest cedar forest are breathtaking. One of the best views is from the property sitting on a slope overlooking two small villages and ventoux.

A wonderful week in Luberon

This villa is spectacular! It was such a treat to stay somewhere so special and quite unique.

The main living area is vast and the kitchen wonderful, such a social experience, it is perfect for a family or a few friends. The views are fantastic, and even if the weather is not perfect, you can relax and enjoy them through the ceiling to floor windows that form the entire wall to the countryside.

The pool is beautiful, even with the cooler weather we had in May, one of our party had a cold swim!

The area is great, you need a car for exploring and getting provisions. We enjoyed touring the area and picking up local produce from the local markets for a big feast each evening in the villa.

Lovely long weekend in April

We were three families who shared the house to celebrate a family member's birthday. The house was perfect for this occasion as it is a house with very open and generous living areas.
The wonderful view surrounding the house is breathtaking and we spent most of the days in and around the house.
Perfect with wifi in the house and we loved the IKEA kitchen!
Easy to access from Marseille airport and perfect situated considering sights and picturesque villages. A plus for baby bed and baby chair, since we had our baby girl with us.
We loved Apt which has everything you need for shopping and is only minutes away. We also went running and hiking in the beautiful landscape.

The view!

I have to say that this house is really something, I've been to Provence many time over the last 15 years but this is a house which stands out from the usual Provence-villa which tend to be quite rustic. Here you have central (floor) heating (the nights were a bit chilly when I was there), wifi, tv and dvd, washing maschine, sauna etc.

The location itself couldn't be better, on a hill-side looking out at valley. Here you are very much on the countryside but it is still no more than 10 minutes by car to Apt, a nice little town where you can find the supermarket, bank, postal office etc.

All-in-all, I wished I lived there...
