Guestbook comments from the owner
I was in town for a conference at the Morial Convention Center near downtown but didn't want to stay right in the thick of everything. Jeff's place was just far enough away without being inconvenient and it was nice to see a different part of town. The Uptown area is amazing and filled with beautiful houses and great restaurants! The house itself is very nice, well appointed, and clean. The area felt safe and it was easy to get anywhere in town. I definitely recommend staying here!

I moved to New Orleans in 1993 to attend Tulane University. And the City that Care Forgot wasted no time sucking me in. As a young man, my Uptown neighborhood met my every want and need - a half block from Mardi Gras, a quick stumble to some of the best live music in the city at Tipitina's and Les Bons Temps, fine eats at Dick and Jenny's, and plenty of libations within striking distance. Now I am older, with three children, and though my needs have changed the neighborhood still provides - ice cream at Creole Creamery, snowballs at Hansen's Sno-Bliz, two playgrounds, a children's library, and pizza. And of course Mardi Gras.

OUR 1ST VISIT TO NOLA!

  • 5 of 5
This lovely home in uptown New Orleans was the perfect spot and our host was most gracious. We were comfortable and all of the furnishings were quite nice. The cruiser bikes made for fun tours around the beautiful neighborhoods. It is a distance from the French Quarter (I wanted it that way) and we walked several blocks to reach the trolley - lots to see on our strolls. Absolutely will return and hope the house is available when we do !!!

WEDDING GUESTS FOR THE WEEKEND

  • 4 of 5
My family and I, including two more families, rented a row of houses on this block for a three night stay in New Orleans for my nephew's wedding. The accommodations were excellent -- clean, big, and comfortable -- with all needed extras --- toilet paper, cleaning supplies, coffee maker, and bedding. We were very happy as we sat on the front porch and watched the traffic and passerbyers -- at one point a neighbor invited us to a pig roast. :-) Very friendly -- We enjoyed walking to nearby Audubon Park, and Whole Foods is right up the street. The surrounding neighborhood had lovely homes to peek around as well as interesting stores and places to eat on nearby Magazine Street.
The only negative to us was the street noise -- which coming from a quiet street in suburbia took a little getting used to. We adjusted after the first night. :-)

THE PERFECT SPOT IN NEW ORLEANS!

  • 5 of 5
I was beyond impressed with this property!! It was well-stocked with dishes, silverware, extra shower supplies, and a ton of books and DVDs. Several cool bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as grocery and convenience stores. The central Uptown location means you are only a $20 cab ride from the French Quarter, the Superdome, Bucktown, or anywhere else you can imagine. It was great having an actual living space and a kitchen, I don't think I'll ever stay in a hotel again!

NOLA UPTOWN GEM!

  • 5 of 5
Great location uptown! My husband and I were very happy with this rental. It looked just like the pictures! Very clean and well maintained. Jeff, the owner, quickly responded to any correspondence. Conveniently located close to Magazine Street for great restaurants and shopping. We will definitely consider staying here again.

GREAT PLACE FOR A GIRLS WEEKEND!

  • 5 of 5
Two of my girlfriends and I stayed here for four nights and three days for an extended girls weekend in October 2013. We had a great time and LOVED this place. The pictures were completely accurate. There was a large selection of books and movies if you needed one. It was very close to three different grocery stores and we never had a problem parking. We always got to park directly in front of the unit which was nice especially since we had a large SUV. It was larger than I was expecting which was great and anything we could have needed was there. The road was never noisy and it wasn't very busy. It took us about 15-20 min to get to the French Quarter which was great. It was close to a street with little boutiques and restaurants which we shopped and ate at one night. We loved staying there. I also loved doing laundry the night before we left to keep from having to do it once we got home.

Great place and I highly recommend it!

FAMILY WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN

  • 5 of 5
Very pleased with my stay here. I was attending a conference at Tulane University, and my wife and two daughters (ages 18 months and 3 years) came along. We were all pleased with the stay. There were a few problems with cleanliness and things being broken, but the owner was very responsive. For example, the TV stopped working and he replaced it the same morning that I e-mailed him about it. The listing is very accurate as to what you get. I was very pleased and would certainly stay here again if I were to come back to NOLA.

This Uptown property is a stone's throw away from dining, drinking, shopping, merry-making, and Mardi Gras. Enjoy alligator pies washed down with Abita Amber at Frankie and Johnny's, just across the street. One block away is Dos Jefe's Cigar bar, which has a cozy patio area. Traveling with kids? Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo are just 10 blocks away. The park also sports a par-3 golf course, a swimming pool, basketball courts, soccer fields, a jogging trail, and scenic views of the Mississippi River. If you fancy a quiet night in, there are two grocery stores within 3 blocks - Whole Foods and Winn-Dixie. Magazine Street provides ample dining and late night opportunities. Some of the best live music in the city can be found at Les Bons Temps or at Tipitinas, both less than a mile from the property. And if it's Mardi Gras you are after... Many of the Uptown parades line up along Jefferson between Tchoupitoulas St. and Magazine St. - 2 blocks from the house.
