Rhinebeck Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 2 Bedrooms (Sleeps 4)
Set deep within a 10 acre park-like estate one mile from the Village of Rhinebeck, the 1,100 square foot guest cottage was designed to be a simple getaway retreat for one or two couples who want a relaxing retreat in the woods, but who also want the the very best of conveniences of modern living. Nestled in an old-growth forest of oak, maple and dogwood trees, the black cedar exterior makes the cottage gently recede into the landscape. As you get out of your car, you appreciate the rock outcroppings and rambling stone walls of the property. You enter the front door of the cottage and are utterly surprised by the open loft-like space that greets you. The great room is 21 by 32 feet long and has 9 foot ceilings. A 26 foot wall of windows looks across a mossy forest floor that slopes down a lawn where the sun is just about to set. The look is cool and modern, with warm white walls, recessed LED lighting and stunning polished concrete floors. But the feel you are getting is one of warmth. The floors are toasty warm from the radiant heating system and there is a Danish wood stove with a fire swirling behind its glass door. Music from the built-in sound system fills the room from above and your friend has just docked his iPod so play that new band he was telling you about. As you flop down into the pillows on the big sectional sofa, you suddenly notice the brilliant deep red cabinets in kitchen.
The European-made kitchen is equipped with a Ariston cooktop that has both gas and electric burners, a Bosch dishwasher, a Gaggenau convection oven and--get this--a built-in Gaggenau cappuccino maker. The kitchen is outfitted with other things a cook would want... good cookware, a powerful ventilation hood and a selection of spices and dry goods to get you started as you plan your meal. Your friend says 'cooking is my way of relaxing and it's great to be in a rental property with good kitchen.'
As the evening goes on, you flip on the 42 inch TV and chill in front of the fire while watching a movie. Afterwards, you throw some laundry into the washing machine on your way to bubble bath in the extra deep tub of the impeccable white tiled bathroom. After your bath, you will slip between the luxurious cotton linens of the master bedroom as your friend retires into the other bedroom. You draw the floor-to-ceiling drapes closed because you fully intend to sleep in tomorrow, but he decides to leave his open so he can wake up to the sight of the leaf-covered floor forest and the hustle and bustle of chipmunks as they make their daily commute to the woodpile.
Property also features an automatic backup generator so power outages will not get in the way of your enjoyment.
