This newly remodeled one-bedroom, one-bath cottage has everything you could ask for when visiting the wine country: expansive decks, plush patio furniture and high-end grill to enjoy the outdoors, and a cozy living room with contemporary furniture, art by local artists, king-size bed, and a chef’s kitchen (Viking Range) for indoor comfort. WiFi enabled. Bring your smartphone, download the Sonos app and enjoy our wireless stereo system. Watch a film from our movie library. Upstairs is a loft with two single beds.

The cottage shares two acres with a main house and is set amongst California live oaks and Bay trees. A “winter” creek runs through the property. Lots of open space, full of Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer and the occasional fox. Take a walk down the quiet country lane or better yet, bring bikes and enjoy one of Sonoma’s best biking regions. We are right near one of Sonoma’s best regional parks, Annadel State Park. Historic Jack London State Park is only 15 minutes by car.

The cute town of Kenwood is only five minutes by car. Glen Ellen’s top rated restaurants are 15 minutes and the downtown of Sonoma is 25 minutes. Quiet and secluded, the cottage is also just minutes from some of Sonoma Valley’s best and most picturesque wineries, including Ledson, Kunde and St. Francis.

Why Eric Pfeiffer chose Kenwood

My partner and I purchased this property a few years ago because we fell in love with the area: quiet, secluded, yet close to the best wineries and restaurants in the Sonoma Valley.

What makes this cottage unique

We have recently remodeled the cottage and love sitting on the expansive deck and watching the wildlife go by.

Nearest Airport : Napa County Airport at 30 Miles
Nearest Beach : Sonoma Coast State Beach at 40 Miles

We are right near one of Sonoma’s best regional parks, Annadel State Park, which is very popular for hiking and mountain biking. The cute town of Kenwood is only five minutes by car. Kenwood Cottage Stay

This was a wonderful little cottage nestled away off the beaten path in a little area about 20 minutes from Sonoma Square. The deck (with gas grill and multiple seating areas) was wonderful, and the layout is very open, with the kitchen/dining/living area all in one room. The bath was very well done and the shower was lovely. The upstairs/loft has 2 twin beds, and it would nice if there was a large mirror up there, as well as a little more head room, but overall, it was fantastic. We had 3 people in the unit for 5 nights, and it worked well. I wouldn't recommend this if someone has any sort of mobility issues, especially if you have to get upstairs because the spiral stairs are a little narrow and not all that convenient. If you're 1-2 people and only need the one bedroom, this is a FANTASTIC place for a romantic getaway. Or, if you're a couple with kids who are extremely mobile, they will love, love, love the loft! Decorated very nicely, clean, and the SONOS music option is great (just make sure you have an iPod or iPad) -- we were actually able to listen to our favorite Minneapolis station while we grilled and had our happy hour every night! Quite a bonus! I'd highly recommend and would go back in a heartbeat. Also, Eric was very responsive and excellent to work with on the arrangements and rental. A+

Quaint and comfortable.....

Great place... The cottage was perfect and comfortable . Loved having fully stocked kitchen to cook in. Great yard and porches to sit out And enjoy the sun and wildlife. Only one complaint, the water isnt hot enought for showers. But everything else was great. Would recommend this cottage to all. Thank you Eric.. You have an awesome cottage and spot..

Owner's Response: Thanks Heather for the nice review. Just to clarify, we have an ecofriendly instant-hot water heater. The temperature in the shower is very warm, but Heather is correct, it's not steaming hot.

Stunning cottage in a quiet wine country setting!

Our family (myself, husband, and infant son) booked the Kenwood cottage for two nights mid-January, but had to extend our stay because we loved the place so much. Beautifully decorated, fully stocked with high-end appliances, and loaded with lots of games/DVDs to make the stay totally comfortable.

Although we could not utilize the two amazing decks as our stay was during some of the coldest weather Northern California had seen in recent history (brrrr!), we thoroughly enjoyed waking up in the luxurious bed looking out the french doors at the sun streaming through the frosty oak trees. My husband and I spent our lazy afternoons taking turns reading and napping in the incredibly comfortable twin beds in the cozy loft while the other played with our son downstairs.

The cottage is in the midst of some of the best wine country around (and Mexican food, by the way!), but removed enough from the main road, so you feel as though you're on a country getaway. The hilarious turkey guffaws and little creek nearby definitely add to this experience.

I would highly recommend this cottage, and cannot wait to come stay again; this time in the spring so we can enjoy our bottles of wine on the deck!

Fantastic Cottage in the Woods: secluded but well situated

Possibly the best appointed cabin-in-the-woods we've ever stayed in. Modern, elegant decor. Fully equipped kitchen with excellent appliances. Courteous hosts, with complementary champagne, careful instructions, picnic utensils, cute little flashlights, and throw blankets -- many small details like this anticipate your needs. Good, broadband Internet connection (25 Mbps down, 4 Mbps up). Lovely woodwork. French doors and large windows give a spacious, airy atmosphere.

Located in the low hills around Kenwood, in sparse oak woodland; there's a balance between rural seclusion and convenient access to groceries, restaurants, wineries, etc. Beautiful Sugarloaf State Park is only a 15-20 minute drive away with its waterfall and trails up to Bald Mountain. Hood Mountain Regional Park and Annadel State Park are also nearby.

We had a lovely stay and would confidently recommend this cottage to others. Good for romantic getaways, or families with 1-2 older children (there's an appealing loft bedroom with two beds, bean bag chairs and a small deck; the loft stairs are too steep for young children). The care with which this cottage was decorated and furnished lend it an atmosphere of elegant hospitality unusual in a rental cabin.

Wine Country Getaway

We loved our 3-day stay here. The cottage is well-situated with trees and vineyards all around, and most importantly, it's a bit removed the regular bustle of the town of Sonoma and Highway 12. However, you can easily go wine-tasting, shopping or hiking. We mostly relaxed on the large deck with friends and lots of wine. The kitchen is fully-equipped and every room is up-to-date. I hope we can stay longer next time.
