Peaceful, Convenient, and Serene

My first trip to Nicaragua was amazing. I didn't quite know what to expect and was very happy with the accommodations at the Brio casitas. After a great day of hanging out on the beautiful beaches, eating fresh fish caught that day right in front of us, and sipping on delicious cocktails, it was extremely refreshing to take a hot shower, relax on the balcony with a game of cards, and soak up the suns last rays while enjoying gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. I felt like I had it made, a feeling I assume rich folks have on a daily basis. The difference was that I was getting a heck of deal! The rates are cheap, but don't let that fool you. Not only did we have wifi, which you would normally have to pay for at one of the cyber-cafes down on the beach, but we had filtered tap water (I was initially concerned and was told to never drink the water in Nicaragua, but this stuff was potable, my friends!) and hot water, which is a luxury anywhere outside of the 1st World. There was also a kitchenette we used every day to cook local foods we bought in town and we had backup solar power in case the lights went out, which happened a couple of times down in the town of Gigante while we were there. Did I mention the pool? Anyways, the beds were comfortable so I slept like a baby and awoke almost every morning to the sounds of howler monkeys penetrating the morning mist... 'Nuff said. Go there.
