Terry and I have been renting our vacation homes on the Leelanau for over 30 years. Because we travel extensively we understand what our guests expect. Our Housekeeper is TOPS! We make every effort to provide attractive, eclectic and comfortable furnishings and linens.
Our guests are giving this new cottage great thumbs up!
Great location and comfort. We have owned vacation rentals on the Leelanau for over 30 years, however, we have focused on Northport for the following reasons: It is just a short drive to several beaches, Grand Traverse Lighthouse and Leelanau State Park and Dunes; equal distance to Leland, Suttons Bay, Omena; close to the Casino and many great wineries. Because it is at the northern tip of the peninsula it has less tourist traffic noise. The village is a quaint reminder of how small villages were like a century ago, yet includes a modern health and fitness center and great shops, restaurants, beaches and marina.
The deck in summer; great for Bar-B-Ques, reading books and sipping Leelanau wine. And, on cool nights the lovely fireplace! Right in the village, the house is walkable to everything: beach, ice cream, playground, restaurants, shopping, groceries, wedding venue.
Great Sandy Beaches around the corner, or on Lake Michigan and Northport Bay, all just minutes away; walk or drive.
Marina w/availability and boat launch. Sailing school in village: please inquire.
Many Wineries within an easy drive.
Walk to Barb's Bakery for coffee and fresh-baked breakfast rolls; The Willowbrook for wedding events; all the restaurants in the village; The Pennington Collection for unique gifts and Vera Bradley; Motovino Winery and their excellent wines and Italian foods.
Lighthouses! Start with Grand Traverse Lighthouse, north of the village. Climb to the light and tours of living quarters. Visit Manitou Island's Lighthouse, also
Biking and hiking: hilly and fabulous. Lake views from many vantage points.
