About Owner: Nancy and Terry Lunn

Terry and I have been renting our vacation homes on the Leelanau Peninsula for over 30 years. Because we travel extensively we understand what our guests expect. Our Housekeeper is TOPS! We make every effort to provide attractive, eclectic and comfortable furnishings and linens.

Our guests are giving this new cottage great thumbs up!

Owner: Nancy and Terry Lunn purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Owner: Nancy and Terry Lunn chose Northport

Great location and comfort. Although we have owned vacation rentals in other villages on the Leelanau for over 30 years, we have focused on Northport for the following reasons: It is just so charming! It is just a short drive to several beaches, Northport Creek Golf Course, Grand Traverse Lighthouse and Leelanau State Park and Dunes; equal distance to Leland, Suttons Bay, Omena; close to the Casino and many great wineries. Because it is at the northern tip of the peninsula it has less tourist traffic noise. The village is a quaint reminder of how small villages were like a century ago, yet includes a modern health and fitness center and great shops, restaurants, beaches and marina.

What makes this cottage unique

The deck in summer; great for Bar-B-Ques, reading books and sipping Leelanau wine. And, on cool nights the lovely fireplace! Right in the village, the house is walkable to everything: beach, ice cream, playground, restaurants, shopping, groceries, wedding venue.

Wonderful place to stay for our daughter's wedding!!!!

Wonderful place to stay for our daughter's wedding!!!!
  • 5 of 5
We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for the week of my daughter's wedding. It was roomy enough for all of our wedding "paraphernalia" that we brought from down state. And we had ALOT! We spent much of the week working on wedding projects on the large table in the spacious front room. We made wedding wands and the wedding dinner menus all while sipping on some wonderful local wine, of course! The cottage is cozy and is well appointed. We loved the beautiful updated kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, and cozy comfortable beds. The cottage is set up so that there several private sleeping areas, so lots of privacy, especially nice if you share with another couple/family. The cottage was impeccably clean as well.
We loved how it was located in the heart of the quaint small town of Northport, within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, a bar, ice cream, Tom's grocery store, Barb's donuts, farmers market, and the historic Willowbrook Mill which was the location of my daughter's wedding reception (and a beautiful venue!!). Nancy, the Geranium Cottage owner, was so kind, easy to work with, and professional. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Northport, check out the Geranium Cottage. If you are hosting a wedding at Willowbrook Mill, it is a perfect place to stay. You'll love it! We did!

Where do I begin to express the tremendous joy, satisfaction and amazement with the home we rented for my daughter, Lisa's wedding.

First, Nancy Lunn, who is the owner of the home we rented, is welcoming, trusting and extremely helpful when planning our week in Northport. Her home is very well furnished and exquisitely decorated which made it warm and welcoming.

It was the perfect home for our wedding. Lisa, her eight attendances and the flower girl, all got completely ready for the wedding in the great room. The room is huge with two dressing areas and a large lovely bathroom. The two photographers and two beauticians, as well as a few others all could comfortably be in this great room area. It was amazing and made me, the mother of the bride, very proud. At the same time several of my family members were getting ready in the other part of the house. This part included a darling kitchen, family room, two bedrooms, bath and another sitting room which was all decorated perfectly.

The day after the wedding, I invited many family members and friends over for a brunch, and I could accommodate all my guess.

The Willowbrook Mill is a gorgeous place to have a reception and the owners are extremely helpful and involved. Pastor Tom, with his outstanding personality, set the tone for a blessed and loving ceremony.

I feel, thanks to Nancy Lunn her support and her warm and welcoming home, Pastor Tom and the Willowbrook Mill, we had near, if not, a perfect wedding celebration for my daughter, family and friends.

My entire family wants to return to Nancy's home and revisit all of Northport, Michigan once again.

With Appreciation,

Ginger Shtogrin
