Fantastic Five Points home available for Georgia Game Day weekend rentals, weekly and monthly rentals, special events, and more. Welcome to the McWhorter House! This former home of Robert Ligon 'Bob' McWhorter, UGA's first All-American Football Player, has just been renovated and fully appointed with all the modern luxuries one could want while keeping the style and charm of a historic home from the past. Built in 1900, this three bedroom two and a half bath home has been fully updated with modern amenities including granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, 55' LED TV's, high speed internet including WiFi, and comes fully and tastefully furnished for all of you weekend getaway needs. There are 12ft. ceilings throughout the home and a huge covered veranda overlooking one of the largest and grandest magnolia trees in town. Comfortably sleeps 8 guests or more with a king sized bed in the master suite, queen sized bed in the 2nd bedroom, two twin beds in the third bedroom, and an over-sized sleeper sofa in the living room with a queen pullout bed. Come enjoy the splendor of the McWhorter house that sits less than a mile from Sanford Stadium, The University of Georgia Campus, and Downtown Athens!

Why Brad Garrison chose Athens

I just loved the idea of having a historic home from an era gone by and the location just can not be beat. The house was originally part of the Cloverhurst Estate that encompassed over 240 acres of the current Five Points area.

Sitting just two blocks from S. Milledge Avenue and a block from Baxter Street I just knew that this home was the one for me. I now have the beautiful historic home that I was looking for, and the ability to walk to all the shops and restaurants in Five Points as well as the UGA campus, and downtown Athens in just a matter of minutes.

Our family truly enjoyed staying in this wonderful home in Athens. It was very clean, had really comfortable beds, plenty of space to visit (2 living areas!) and big front porch for relaxing. It was just what we needed!

This great old house was even better than the pictures. Instead of a hotel room we decided to stay in this home and it truly felt like home with everything in the kitchen you need, wireless internet, big screen TVs, and a great feel for UGA with the pictures and trimmings. Can't wait to stay here on our next trip.
