Guestbook comments from the owner
Marie, you were the perfect guest. Right after we said hello you told me that your oil light came on in the car a few miles back. We solved that problem and then the time just flew. I remember the knot I got in my stomach when you said that your family owned a restaurant. Yikes!!! But I made my house specialties for breakfast and you gave the Marie seal of approval. Marie, you are always welcome back to The Loft!
I have a knack for anticipating my guest's needs and make sure you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The B&B hospitality business is right up my alley. I love to cook and since the kids are all grown and moved out I get to cook some pretty fantastic breakfasts for my guests. People thought we were crazy when we filed for permits to change out home's zoning to a legal Bed and Breakfast, but it has been and continues to be such a pleasure. My husband still works outside the home and since he is 'on' all week, he enjoys yard work on the weekends and taking care of any small repairs around the house. This works for us!
The Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful settings in our country. All seasons are equally amazing and never cease to surprise us even after 40+ years. Our house lends itself beautifully to the Hudson Valley traveler and small family. As secluded as we are, we are less than half a mile from the main road, and from there, a mile from a busy intersection with everything you need for your stay here from restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, liquor stores, take out restaurants that deliver, post office and banks and our West Point guests love that we are just 15 minutes from the main gate.
When we first started looking for a home we wanted the kind of small neighborhood like the town I grew up in. All these years later and we still love it here.
We are ten minutes from Stewart International Airport and five minutes from The Storm King Art Center which features artists and sculptors from around the world. We also have some of the most awesome hiking trails on Storm King Mountain, about a five minute drive from us.
Nighttime is pretty quiet here. Actually, that's one of the features that works out best for our guests. Guests love the privacy. I'm just a phone call away for anything you need.
We have distant mountain views that are best seen from The Loft through the east facing glass doors - a great thing to wake up to each morning. Our home has evolved from a tiny bungalow to a unique arrangement of rooms as our family grew. We designed The Loft for privacy and it has well served us. The comment all our guests make when they leave is, 'feels like home.' It doesn't get better than that. Winter guests can skip the restaurant scene and choose to enjoy one of my delicious home cooked Italian meals with all the fixings delivered right to your door so you can relax all night with clean up the next morning. Don't wait another weekend before deciding that you need a break now and enjoy the privacy, seclusion and relaxation you deserve now.
