Hiking:
The 'Waldmünchner-Urlaubsland' is a true hiker’s paradise. You find rest and recreation guaranteed with wanderings in our vast mountain woods and wide river valleys. Whether on the straight welfare with travelling map on the numerous signposted ways, border-crossing as far as the feet carry, or just 4-5 km of your holiday apartment to the marketplace of the 'Waldmünchen' town. If requested we fetch you at every agreed point by car, to ease the pain with your corns. Professional hikers who prefer day- stages, can spend the night at us with pleasure or insert a break of several days. A nearby mountain is the 1042-m-high Cerchov in Czechia, just across the border, which is easily to reach from your apartment in 2 hours.
Mountainbiking and Bicycle Pleasure:
For mountain bikers the 'Waldmünchner-Urlaubsland' is an Eldorado which searches his equals. A mountain bike network of more than 550 km with 12 sign posted tours, border crossing through the whole Bavarian-Bohemian tract of forest is offered. The tours are not easily, however, the besides discovered sceneries, places of interest, as well as to hidden stop possibilities repay the strain. The 'Waldmünchner-Urlaubsland' offers lots of fun and change with varied bathing- and leisure possibilities, like bath lakes and the 'Erlebnisbad-Aquafit'. At the Pearl-Lake with beach, restaurant, mini-golf, riding academy and much more you are able to relax not only with swimming and solar bathing, but with undergoing a Kneipp cure, fishing, windsurfing, curling or even sailings. Minicab driving, tennis, archery, paragliding, golfing and summer-ski-skating are possible, too. The East Bavarian cultural calendar offers, above all, in summer many theatres outside before romantic scenery, open-air festivals and traditional events. Very much possibly the 'dragon's sting' is known in 'Furth im Wald' (12km) or the open-air festival ' Trenck the Pandur' in Waldmünchen (4km) with its wild rider's scenes, roar of guns, love story and humorous inserts. Also interesting is the Bavarian-Forest version of Goethe's 'fist' in 'Kötzting' (18 km), among many other festivals.
Ski:
Directly close of your domicile you reach the cross-country skiing area of 'Waldmünchen' with 9 traced trails of all degrees of difficulty from 1.5 to 13 km, partially across the border to Czechia. A 6-km-long summer ski-skating-way is not absent. 1 km of the house there is the towed lift 'Unterhütte' with 120 m of height difference and 600 m descent. 2 km away is the beginner's lift in 'Althütte', with 50 metres height of and 300 m of ski-down. 7 km away there are in 'Voithenberg' 2 towed lifts with light descents of 1200 m. 25 km of the house is the armchair lift of the 'Hohe Bogen' with 3 fair racing ways from easily to hard, from 1 - 3 km length. It is 40 km to the 'Eck-Riedelstein' with 3 demanding runways to 1000 m and 2 towed lifts. The 'Grosse Arber', king of the Bavarian Forest, is about 65 km away and offers with 6-person cable railway, 6-person chair lift and 3 towed lifts everything popular for the ski enthusiast, including world cup racings.
Golf:
From our house only 7 km away, in 'Voithenberg', there are the 18-ways arrangements of the ' golf club Furth im Wald ' in one of the most attractive landscape sceneries of the region. Driving range and club house are on the meadows with small pond biotopes beside the romantic castle of the old property of those of Voithenberg. After an area slightly hilly in the beginning, the player’s way leads along an impressive tree avenue and later downhill in the direction of 'Voithenberghuette'. Mostly the players enjoy a panoramic view in the direction of 'Furth im Wald' and the mountains lying behind. For the advanced player the 'uphill' roads are to be played attractively, but not only because of the wide Fairways the place is well suitable for beginners. The 'Greenfee' was 40-45 € in 2006.
