2 Bed/2 bath, sleeps 4, new on market January 2010, overlooking Ponta do Sol

Tucked into the hillside above the south coast village of Ponta do Sol, only 20 minutes' drive west of Funchal, this beautifully restored old Quinta offers a peaceful holiday retreat for its owners and for discerning holidaymakers. Entrance is via a large covered hacienda with dining table and chairs for outside eating and comfy rattan chairs for relaxing. Inside the ground floor contains a traditionally furnished lounge with plasma TV & DVD player, a well-equipped kitchen with dining area and, beyond, a WC. Stairs lead up from the large hallway to two en-suite bedrooms, each with a double bed and French windows opening out to a large balcony. All rooms are south facing with stunning ocean views. Upstairs there is a study too,with WiFi and a sofa-bed. Outside there is a heated pool, a BBQ terrace, gardens & private parking. Ideal for 4 adults in great comfort and an extra guest in the study on a sofabed if required. Sorry no children under 12 yrs and unsuitable for the elderly.

    Sorry, we do not feel this property is suitable for children under 12 years or anyone with mobility difficulty. Arrivals welcome any day of the week.
    Included: pool heating (water temp approx 22ºc in winter, much higher in summer), fresh linen, towels and pool towels. Weekly cleaning and change of linen and towels. Wifi also included.
  • Payments are accepted Euro by credit card or bank transfer in Euro. A 30% deposit must be paid at the time of booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. If a booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.

It was hard to say goodbye to Quinta Girassol....

It was so hard for us to say goodbye to Quinta Girassol and Madeira. The villa is full of character and charm and everything was perfect. We felt very well! And Madeira is such a wonderful island: we enjoyed the gigantic nature, the levada walks, the wonderful flowers and the friendly people. We will cerntainly come back soon and hope that we can stay again in Quinta Girassol.

The house is a Gem!

This was our first visit to Madeira. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is a Gem! Definitely an island to visit. Just looking out from the patio at the Atlantic Ocean was so relaxing. We really had an enjoyable holiday.
