My wife and I have recently retired and are now living nearby. We have owned properties in Whistler for over 20 years, and are now making up for lost time, having never been ski bums when young.

We bought in The Aspens because it is simply the best ski-in ski-out property in Whistler. The unit is spacious and well-equipped. There are excellent on-site amenities, it's a short walk or free shuttle bus to the village, but is also much quieter and more intimate than the village itself.

What makes this condo unique

Excellent stay for Ironman

We booked this rental and luckily got an excellent price from the owner. The Aspens is nicely located just above the Fairmont at Blackcomb and was only a short walk to the Ironman (Olympic) Plaza. The Apt was carpeted, clean and comfortable. We were very happy with the stay. We'd like to stay here again.

My wife and I just returned last night from 5 days at this property; the owner (Rick) was very helpful, the unit itself was a very comfortable place, great location, great view, wonderful amenities. I've rented through VRBO regularly and have (almost) always been completely satisfied with the experience, but this one was the best.

Perfect Location

The Aspens is a perfect location for the true ski in, ski out experience at Whistler/Blackcomb. Located at the base of Blackcomb, the Aspens offers reasonably priced underground parking and valet services for your skis (tips only). You are also steps away from restaurants and just a 10 minute walk to all the comes with Whistler Village. The condo is very nice and had plenty of room for myself and my two teenage sons.

Worth Getting Ski in and Out and Easy Access to the Village

I would give the apartment a 4 1/2 but there is no such rating.

The location is perfect in several ways.

- close to the village, 10 minute walk
- at the bottom of the ski hill so the walk into town and back is EASY (no big hills to walk up)
- the unit gets the sun which makes the deck worthwhile and a great place to sit
- the unit is only a few steps from the elevator but far enough away so you do not hear it (easy to get all your gear from the car or taxi into the room)
- the unit has views of the mountain, the ski trails and over the pool (some units do not get the sun, do not look out over the mountain, do not look out over the ski slope, BE CAREFUL). Do not under estimate how much having a sunny view over looking the ski lifts and mountain is worth, it makes any trip to Whistler far more enjoyable. We have stayed in dark, moldy units before
- SKI IN SKI out and since Whistler Management is very good they make snow so even in a bad season you can ski to the hotel
- it does have a party atmosphere, we love it, saying that we had NO noise issues and our 5 year old had no issues sleeping or anything.

The owners are attentive and relaxed. We did not have any issues but whenever we had a question the answer was timely and useful.

Downsides

- the units are smallish, but that applies to most of Whistler and you soon learn how to work with it (saying that we were in the unit a month and had bought with us a lot of stuff (filled a SUV and had roof rack)).
- the pool towels are really a joke but this is a hotel issue not apartment (the hotel dispenses them)

so as you can see, not really in downside, lots of upsides.



Location, Sun, View and one of the BEST locations in the hotel. We would return.

All-Round Fantastic Unit

From the moment I stepped foot into the Aspens building I felt well taken care of, safe and relaxed. This spacious condo came with everything I needed for a week of hard work by day and relaxation by night. The location was perfect! As described by previous posts, it is most definitely ski-in-ski-out and walking distance to many great restaurants and entertainment. In addition, the suit is well located within the building, with a fantastic view of the pool and mountain and lots of natural light. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to cook-up a storm – plus a dishwasher to help with the cleanup. The unit is clearly well taken care of, and it was beautifully clean and put-together upon arrival. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. I was pleased that the Internet access was reliable and fuss-free and I thoroughly enjoyed the pool and patio. I would definitely recommend this unit and I hope to stay here again myself.

The best location in whistler

This is a terrific unit in the best ski in ski out location in whistler. The owners are very helpful and are an absolute pleasure to deal with. The unit itself has several upgrades which are much appreciated, including granite countertops and nice furniture. Beds are comfortable as well. I particularly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony enjoying the view of the ski slopes. The Aspens complex has the best location with walkable access to the ski lifts, village and lost lake. The outdoor pool and hot tub area is particularly nice and also well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.
