Detached guest cottage. Sleeps 2 Continental Breakfast
Come be a guest in our cottage, which was once an old schoolhouse that we are lovingly restoring. We are on a 1 acre parcel of land with vegetable and flower gardens and our own egg laying hens. Enjoy relaxing in the garden with your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
Your private suite contains a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, kettle, hotplate, toasteroven and toaster. It comes fully equipped with all dishes and linens. Organic coffee, an assortment of teas and hot chocolate are available in your suite as part of your continental breakfast. Fresh home baking made from quality local ingredients are included in your stay.
The guest cottage contains its own bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Towels provided.
Our Guest Cottage is intended for those who want a quiet getaway with all the country has to offer while still having amenities nearby.
After years living in the city we decided to move our family to the country for quieter more peaceful surroundings. We were attracted to the uniqueness of our property with it being an old schoolhouse. With my my husbands talents as a carpenter, my training in ecological landscape design and both of us having a background in the arts, we took on the challenge of beautifying and restoring the structures and the property.
Alex and Jill Oosthoek purchased this cottage in 2008
We were drawn to this property because of it's history to the community but I would have to say that the first thing I fell in love with was the huge fir trees on the property. During the fall and winter months it's wonderful to listen to the wind whip through the long branches of those stately firs. It's also a gift to be able to watch the many local and migrating birds from our own home.
Enjoy peaceful surroundings and pastoral views from your quaint guest cottage in rural Langley.
The cabin is strong and creative, clean, with a wonderful "farmyard" setting complete with gardens, a hen house, wide variety of birds interacting with the squirrels, outdoor sitting areas to enjoy. We were warmly received as was our mini dachshund. We were also spoiled with lovely baking, handmade soaps, fresh flowers - a lovely stay!
What a sweet retreat from the world. Located in farm country away from the crowds of the city but close enough to get there quickly, this cottage is the perfect place to spend some quiet time with your significant other. In my case, it was the perfect place for three girlfriends to stay to regroup for a couple of days of busy sports competition.
When we arrived our host had just finished baking our treat of the day, there was a basket of fresh fruit waiting for us. Organic coffee beans and grinder, many kinds of tea, local honey and all conveniences of a well-stocked kitchen were there for our enjoyment.
The washroom was spic'n'span with a shower stall and handmade soap, lotion and shampoo. Little touches of filled flower vases, antique furniture, books, videos and a lovely yard completed the picture.
Oh, and fresh baking arrived the second morning hot from the oven! Yum!
We have all said we would return in a heartbeat!
Our stay at the "Cottage", was delightful. Our hosts, went above and beyond to accommodate us and our two small dog's. We found absolutely everything in immaculate condition. Fridge stocked, fresh fruit, yogurt etc., don't get me started on the delicious baking........and delivered with smiles. We would highly recommend
This B & B to anyone wishing for a private getaway. Walking in the fresh country air was a distinct pleasure.
My friend and i came to stay here to relax and to catch up. We found this little cottage so inviting and comfortable, all of the thought and love that is put into it by the owners, Jill and Alex can be felt as soon as you walk through the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, we were able to totally relax, and hardly went out. The atmosphere is very tranquil and the country setting is so very lovely. Jill and Alex are an absolute joy to deal with, and Jill is an extremely talented baker! We highly recommend this property!
All of the great things said in previous reviews about the property & its owners are true. A lot of thought has gone into making guests feel comfortable and welcome in general and we were no exception. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful, comfortable, retreat. Thank you Jill & Alex.
From the time I arrived (11:30 pm) and found fresh cranberry apple loafs waiting to the time I left 5 days later, staying at the cottage was excellent. The cottage itself was perfect, with a lovely country setting, yet only 10 minutes or so to supermarkets. Jill and Alex were there, but not...felt very private, yet they were available when I had a question. Perfect hosts. I will stay there again. The pictures don't do the place justice. Words that come to mind: lavender, baking, clean, coffee mill, relaxed, nature, smiles....and baking. Enjoy!
Enjoy all that the Fraser Valley has to offer with hiking, horseback riding, cycling, birdwatching, agratourism, as well as visiting our local vineyards. Check out one of the last remaining Drive-in Movie Theatres left in B.C, only a short 5 min drive away. Our home is directly across the street from a popular walking, cycling horseback riding trail that leads to Campbell Valley Park. This is a quiet rural location which is central to many local activities and pleasant day trips, such as Minter Gardens.
