My family and I live in Alexandria, VA we love Maine, but can't spend as much time there as we would like. Having vacationed in Northeast Harbor since I was a child I always wanted to own a house here. The combination of ocean and mountains provide many recreational opportunities. We enjoy active vacations; hiking, biking playing tennis and golf. My daughters love the sailing and boating nearby.
With four large comfortable bedrooms, and an open welcoming floor plan this house is ideal for relaxing or entertaining. Perfect for a family or small group this house has something for everyone. A comfortable living room is made for relaxing; the well equipped, modern kitchen and dinning room table for eight, with the large rear patio, makes entertaining a breeze. The sizeable back yard has room to throw a Frisbee or play a game of badminton. There is off street parking in the driveway.
Located on a quiet, neighborhood street in the village of Northeast Harbor means peaceful relaxation. The charming village is a short, easy 5 minute walk away. Northeast Harbor has all the conveniences: a beautiful library, the Neighborhood House with fitness center, town pool, grocery, restaurants and bakery are nearby. The free Island Explorer bus travels all over the island of Mount Desert providing easy access to Acadia National Park and the other island villages. The Island Explorer shuttle stops on Main Street and runs seven days a week.
Whether your idea of a vacation is relaxing with a good book, scenic drives, antiquing and fine dining, hiking or biking, you will find it here. Mount Desert Island has antique stores, fine restaurants, scenic drives, and beautiful vistas. New England’s greatest national park is only a short drive away.
