Welcome to this splendid 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom property. It is located only a leisurely 10 minute walk to the fabulous beach of Playa Flamingo with its bars and restaurants. As well as sea views from middle and upper terraces, on a clear day you can also see Fuerteventura.
Villa Hydra is ideal for larger groups, of up to 12 adults; plus 2 smaller children can also be accommodated, smaller groups also very welcome.
The bar and games room, including air hockey, pool table, and table football is a real winner for all ages. On the same floor as the games room there is one double bed room with a king sized bed which is en-suite and two further twin rooms which are also en-suite.
The upper floor has 3 more bed rooms two of which have 2 king sized double beds, one being en-suite and further twin room, the double and the twin share the 5th bathroom.
There is access to the roof terrace from a light airy informal lounge area, which offers total privacy ideal for sun worshipers.
I travelled with my family for a weeks break to this villa. 8 adults and 3 kids, two of them babies.
I asked for cots to be supplied and got a couple of travel cots (25 euros each). I was probably naïve in thinking it would actually be cots with mattresses and sheets.
I contacted the property manager asking for mattresses for the travel cots. To give him his due he supplied another travel cot with a mattress. He suggested we used a duvet as a mattress to soften the other travel cot. We didn't use it at all the baby slept in her parents bed.
There was no WiFi and I asked for a dongle but there was none left. Personally I'm not fussed about internet connection but my kids are.
The photos in the listing makes the villa look bigger than it actually is.
The communal area is small, no way 8 adults can fit in, the kitchen is small, again more than two adults in there and your are banging against one another.
The bedrooms were sufficient but certainly minimalist in furnishings, as was the entire villa.
The decoration was a bit tired, not at all inspiring.
The position of the villa was a bit further from the beach than was implied.
I paid around the mid range costs for villas in Playa Blanca for this villa. I don't consider it was value for money, therefore I would only give this villa 2 out of 10 marks. I certainly will not be using this villa in the future.
Situated on the southernmost point of the island Playa Blanca still retains its title as the jewel in the crown of the Canaries. Completely unspoilt with high rise developments, the town remains an idyllic location for all ages, offering a tranquil setting, with beautiful beaches. Fantastic for families of all ages.
The town is situated a 35 minute drive from Arrecife Airport (ACE), and although not a large island it has some fascinating places to visit, such as the Timanfaya National Park, Mirador Del Rio, The Cactus Gardens, Jameos Del Aqua and El Golfo to name but a view must see places.
To do this you will need your own transport so we are pleased to say we can off some fantastic car hire rates. We compare rates from local companies and you can choose the best rate / package for your group.
Please email us for information on how we can help along with a guide to the islands most specular places to visit.
