Welcome to Starry Nights Lodge, a new Boone log cabin, perched high atop a hill with magnificent long-range views, landscaped with stacked-stone terraces, and a circular driveway with plenty of room for parking. Best of all, you are just 30 minutes to the ski resorts and only 10 minutes from historic downtown Boone and Valle Crucis.

This Tahoe style house has lots of room to spread out. There are three levels of indoor living space and two levels of large decks. The main level of the house features an open floor plan with dining and living areas and a fully equipped kitchen. One wall contains plenty of large windows leading out to a wide upper deck and looks upon the rolling hills and mountains beyond. On the deck, you will find an oversized picnic table, custom rockers with lumbar support, and an outdoor grill. Back inside, the first level is assembled in an Arts and Crafts style, with hardwood flooring and natural finished tongue-and-groove paneling in the cathedral ceiling. The living area contains a stone fireplace with remotely controlled gas logs and features Van Earp lamps, leather sofas and armchair. The dining area comfortably seats eight. Beyond the living area is the master bedroom with three windows set into warmly paneled walls, a queen sized bed piled with pillows, 19' flatscreen TV and a master bath.

Meticulously crafted stairs and banisters in naturally finished pine lead from the main floor to the loft above, containing a futon and a 46 inch television, perfect for a movie, curling up with a good book, or practicing yoga.

A game room on the lower level is equipped with a Foosball table, a chess table and 36' flat screen television. Just off the game-room is a bedroom with queen sized bed, a full bath, and an additional bedroom with two double beds and private bath. The deck on this level, has a large swing chair and a seven-person hot tub with lifter bar for easy access. Just wait till the stars come out!

Starry Nights Lodge offers something for everyone in the family, from views from every room, game tables and more, all in a lovely setting that is peaceful and still convenient to area attractions and events.

About Kathryn

After living abroad, we settled in the temperate region of Charlotte, NC and found ourselves constantly drawn to the beauty of the mountains, just 2 hours away. There were so many activities in every changing season; hiking , biking, skiing & snowboarding, canoeing and kayaking. We couldn't get it all in in a weekend! So we decided to buy a special place with everything we loved. We hope you too will enjoy Starry Nights Lodge.

Why Kathryn chose Sugar Grove

We spent a year looking at houses that were never quite right, we finally found this place and knew our search was over. We were immediately drawn out to the deck overlooking the valley and couldn't leave it. It was fall and the area still smelled of wild flowers and sweet grass. My daughter said, 'Can you just imagine this place on a starry night?' And that's how Starry Nights Lodge was born.

What makes this cabin unique

This house pleases everyone. There is enough room for all to spread out. You won't or hear any neighbors, just deers playing, or an an owl calling his mate. In the magical winter, the fireplace is warm and cozy and children can sled right from the front door. If you are lucky enough to be here on a warm spring night, the air is lit with hundreds of fireflies- all seen from the hot tub and decks.

Fishing, rafting, canoeing & kayaking in the area's many cold water streams. Kids enjoy panning for gold, Tweetsie Railroad, spelunking and zipline adventures nearby. Adults can hunt for original artwork in elegant Blowing Rock and find creative shops and organic restaurants in Boone. Or, do nothing at all, sit back and rock on the deck and breathe in the view. At night- just wait for the stars to come out. Or better yet, enjoy them after the sun sets from the jacuzzi.

Starry Nights Is a Wonderful Place to Enjoy a Relaxing Weekend

We stayed at Starry Nights in late February. We originally scheduled for an earlier weekend but a last minute medical problem forced us to have to cancel. Fortunately we were able to schedule for a later weekend and the owner was truly generous and let us move to another date without penalty. She did not have to do this but was gracious about it. The home is very lovely and peaceful. The views from the living room and porch are sooo pretty. The home was well stocked and ready upon our arrival. They even left a nice bottle of wine for us to enjoy!
My wife and I brought our teenage daughters who in turn brought friends of their own. They played games (furnished by the owners) and enjoyed the hot tub. We took the girls to Hawksnest (45 minute drive) and let them loose on snow tubes and zip lines. A great way to spend the day with kids. They slept well that night.
We would like to go back in the summer and hike the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is close by.
The home and owner make or break a vacation and this owner and home are in our view the one of the best!

Just perfect!

This was the perfect cabin for our stay over MLK weekend. We were traveling with a family of 7. Everyone had their own space and we never felt cramped. The bedrooms, kitchen, family space, THE VIEW, it was all just right. As an added bonus we were very close to Boone, Blowing Rock and lots of things for the kids to do! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Wonderful Xmas and New Years 2012/2013

We were impressed as soon as we entered the subdivision.

It beat my family's expectations by a lot. The owner keeps the place immaculate, from the furnishings and decor, all the way to the kitchen utensils and appliances.

The three stories gave room for everyone to enjoy their favorite activities. The views from the top of the mountain are impressive and memorable. The views from the hot tub are worth coming back.

I highly recommend this property to anyone who is used to traveling in style (Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, etc.)

Piece of Heaven on Earth

Thank you for sharing your mountain house with us. This house, with all its surroundings, fulfilled exactly its purpose. Life is so full, when we "getaway" we need the "getaway" to take us away from all we left behind. Even my soul found vacation in the piece of heaven on earth! It started with the uphill climb off the main road toward the house. Life's normal stresses was unable to keep up, so we left them.
Stepping out of the car, I noticed that the "rushing" which was control of my life somehow did not make it up the hill.
Thank you for helping me find some rest and relaxation. I know the stress will catch up, but now I know where I can escape to!

Beautiful Cabin

We had a great time staying in your cabin this weekend. Although it rained all weekend, it forced us to relax and enjoy spending time together! We thoroughly enjoyed the views and especially the hot tub! Very relaxing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin
