'Casa Descanso' means 'House of Peace and Recreation'. It is located at the edge of the village of Porto Colom in an exclusive residential area about 5 min. away from the beautiful beach of Cala Marsal. The back view is overlooking fields with almond and carob trees. The property is fenced. There are different terraces on 3 sides of the house, smaller and bigger ones and partially covered, therefore according to daytime and position of the sun you will always find enough place to relax. The garden is designed with flower beds, beautiful evergreen plants, palm trees and rubber plants. From the roof deck you have a magnificent view over the entire village until the coast. Everything is within walking distance, the beach, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant, café or just go for a walk. You don't need a car. The house offers plenty of room for 6 and enough space to play for your children. Idyllic harbour with colourful boathouses featuring rustic fishing boats next to modern yachts.

Porto Colom is a natural harbour very appreciated by navigators and has maintained in large part its original constructions facing the sea. This grants a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The ancient city centre from the past century is used as a second residence for the inhabitants of Felanitx, especially during the summer. The other part of the village offers a variety of free time activities during summer. There is a large sandy beach and two smaller coves. You will also find a diving and surfing school. The ship industry is also quite noteworthy, composed by small family businesses that have conserved the skills to build ships according to ancient traditions.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rates indicated above are basic rates for 1 night up to 4 people. Any additional person is charged an extra fee of € 10 per night. Children pay the same rate as adults. There is no charge for small babies (cot). Please indicate the amount of people and age of children in your inquiries. There is a weekly flat-rate of € 35 for heating costs during winter, payable separately on-site to the owner. We charge a security deposit of € 100 upon arrival which is returned on the day of your departure after a check-up by the owner. Final cleaning fee is € 60 for 4 people, any additional person plus € 10.
  • Bed linen, dishtowels and hand towels, table linen, beach towels, 2 sunshades and icebox are available. Weekly maid service, change of linen and a separate storage room with washing machine outside the house are also available. The garden is taken care of if desired.
  • Booking modalities: upon reservation you will receive a booking confirmation, directions and information regarding car rental per email or mail. Please transfer 20 % of the rental amount upon arrival of this information to the indicated account. The rest is payable when you receive the keys. If possible you will be expected by a bilingual contact person (German/English) on arrival at the agreed meeting point at any day or night time, who will take you to the rental place, hand you the keys of the house and give you some initial indications. This person is also authorized to receive the remaining payment on behalf of the owners against a receipt. We want you to feel as secure as possible booking over the Internet.

  • Bathroom 2 is located outside the house right next to the kitchen terrace. There are handtowels and dishtowels as well as beach towels available. You can wash them in the in-house washing machine if necessary.

  • You can join the single beds in order to obtain double beds (180 x 190). Sleeps 6 adults + babys. There are two cots available free of charge upon request and two highchairs and anti-drop protection for small children. Please make your requests upon booking. The beds are equipped with 'German' duvets and pillows. According to the temperatures in July and August you can store the duvets in the closet and change them for the provided sheets.

Notes: The house has a garage. The entrance is through an iron gate. On the left side from the main hall there is a large living/dining area with comfortable sofa, 2 chairs, fireplace, satellite TV, dish cupboard, dining table sits 6 people. There is also a spacious kitchen with a second dining area. Both open onto the terrace. In front of the kitchen there is a brick BBQ. The kitchen has a small storage room. There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the right side of the hall. All rooms are very bright and most of the furniture is made of pinewood. In front of the living-room there is a large, covered terrace which is perfect for cozy meals outside. There is space to accommodate the sun loungers above the garage. You can reach the roof deck by a straight stone stairway. There is a small area with the washing-machine. All wooden window frames have folding shutters in order to shade the rooms when it is too warm and sunny. The house is furnished in the typical Majorcan style.

Beaches in Porto Colom: Cala Marsal is located in the surroundings of Porto Colom. This is the biggest sandy beach nearby which is easy to reach within aprox. 5 min. from your house and is perfect for children, offers restaurants and beach bar, sun loungers, sunshades, showers, pedal boats, etc. It is surrounded by several smaller hotels. The parking lot is right next to the beach. Cala S'arenal in the old part of Porto Colom is about 2 km away from your house. It is mainly used by the locals and is beautifully located at the entrance of the harbour overlooking all of Porto Colom with the mountains in the back. A perfect place to watch the romantic sunsets! The Ibiza-style beach bar is open until late at night.

Nearby beaches : Cala Brafi: a small natural beach, only accessible through a cliff trail. Cala Murada: mainly locals who come to enjoy this beach together with predominantly German, Belgian and French tourists who take their vacation in the only hotel available. You can park your car directly at the beach. Es Domingos: a very beautiful sandy beach, with deep waters and high waves with wind. Cala Senau: a smaller finer sandy beach surrounded by pine woods. Cala Serena, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Gran, Cala Egos, Cala Barca, Cala Mondrago etc.

Golf: 5 km away is the Vall D'Or golf course, one of the most well-known golf course in Majorca, with its newly renovated club house and a magnificient view over Cala D' Or as well as the harbour of Porto Colom. It is only a few minutes away from the house. Golf courses are offered regularly for beginners and advanced players in small groups, in Spanish, German or English. Also worth a visit for 'non-golfers' for its ample installations! And the exclusive Marriott Golf Son Antem I and II Resort is only 20 km away.

Ich kann mich der ersten Bewertung nur anschließen:
Wir waren jetzt schon zum 2. Mal in der Casa Descanso (dieses Mal mit 4 Erwachsenen und einem Kleinkind) und waren 100% zufrieden.
- Die Angaben im Inserat sind absolut korrekt
- Der Zustand sehr gepflegt (außer 2 etwas knarzenden Betten); für ein Ferienhaus ist es außerordentlich gut ausgestattet mit Küchenutensilien etc., der wöchentl. Wechsel von Bettwäsche und Handtüchern nicht selbstverständlich
- Die komplette Abwicklung perfekt und super Betreuung vor Ort (z.B. Tipp für Kinderarzt am Sonntag)
- Die Lage des Hauses ruhig und trotzdem Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Strand, Spielplätze und Ausflugsziele in der Nähe
=> Wir würden das Haus jederzeit weiter empfehlen!

Wir waren zu 5 für 9 Tage hier.
Ein einwandfrei eingerichtetes Chalet hat uns erwartet. Ausstattung , Betreuung , Lage und Möglichkeiten sind nur zu empfehlen.
Das Haus entspricht genau dem was die Anzeige aussagt . Buchung , Anreiseinfo´s , Abrechnung und Empfang vor Ort waren einfach toll. Wäschewechsel , Erstausstattung, Einrichtung und Platz sind für Familie mit Kind/Kindern oder einer kleinen Gruppe sehr zu empfehlen. Idealer Ausgangsort für Erkundungen per Auto oder zu Fuß . Möglichkeiten vor Ort mehr als ausreichend. Trotz Oktober: Abends auf der Terrasse Grillen oder einfach nur den tag bei Rotwein ausklingen lassen , hier geht´s. Absolut ruhige Lage.. Aber doch nah zum Strand (zu Fuß knapp 10 Minuten gemütlich).
Kann diese Wohnung nicht nur weiterempfehlen , sonder buche gerne wieder.
