I am 65 years old and have fallen in love with this Valley. I brought my children here when they were young and now one lives in the area. My grandchildren enjoy many activities which are available in this area.
Frank Hart purchased this cottage in 2005
I have been coming to the Roaring Fork Valley since the early 70's. I have found the gems in this Valley are the people and the small towns with character and charm. Be careful, as once you have visited this area, you will want to come back again and again!

I had a great chance to meet my daughter and son, both at college on overlapping spring breaks, to ski, their favorite sport. We had a great time exploring the 4 mountains and all of the Town of Aspen's treats. The house was perfect, with WIFI, cable TV, steam shower, hot tub, premium appliances and amazing view of Mt. Sopris. Convenience to shopping in Carbondale and Basalt, and a short drive to the 4 mountains, made it an ideal location. Thanks for making your home available to us.
Thank you Frank & Don for such an amazing vacation! Your home was not only beautifully appointed and comfortable but we felt "home" the minute we walked in. Even before you arrived you made things so convenient; from the detailed information email to the groceries awaiting our arrival (thank you Mandy) everything was so easy for a busy traveling family.
We arrived at night, so the first morning we woke up to the breathtaking view from the master bedroom. The sight of pristine, snowcapped mountains never got old. Someone from our family skied everyday, and the short trip to Snowmass and Aspen was easy. In fact, it was a nice way to explore the great little towns on the way to and from the mountain.
I could go on and on...but it comes down to a memorable stay at a beautiful, welcoming mountain hideaway. Many thanks from the McSwain family!
We met our son and his family (who live in Colorado Springs) over in Carbondale and spent three fun filled nights at the house. The views from the front of the houses are absolutely breath taking and could not have asked for better weather for February. We spent a lot of time not only being together as a family but enjoyed making snow men and sledding with our kids and grand daughter. The house is spacious, warm and inviting and has a wood fire place that added to the cozy feel of the house.
Definitely try Smittys village for blueberry corn pancakes, you won't be disappointed. We traveled into downtown Glenwood Springs for an afternoon of sightseeing and shopping and found a few good watering holes. Would definitely return for another visit and recommend this house to any of my friends and family.
We had a great stay at this home. Frank and Mandy were great- Frank was very helpful in setting us all up, Mandy was quick to respond and offered concierge services, she also made me feel like if anything was wrong, we could call, no problem. The view is unbelievable. We were a 35 minute drive to snowmass, and about 45 minutes to aspen, aspen highlands, and buttermilk wasn't far either. The bedrooms were nice and large and the fireplace was stunning. We enjoyed the hot tub. It can get very snowy so 4 wheel is a must, and the driveway and narrow and wind-y. We didn't get to see any wildlife, but thats ok! I would definitely come back. The house had all the necessities, especially when cooking. Great place Frank!
What a wonderful home. Very comfortable, well stocked cabin fit for a relaxing getaway. Close proximity to Aspen or Glenwood Springs with numerous adventures to enjoy. World class fishing, horseback riding, snow skiing, snowmobiling, shopping and much, much more. The cabin has a hot tub with a breathtaking view. Multiple animals came by to visit including Mule Deer and Elk. Far enough in the mountains to relax and unwind, yet 30 minutes from the slopes. Challenging hiking or well groomed bike trails abound. The perfect place to relax and unwind. We hope to return next fall for another relaxing respite.
This "cabin" was a nice surprise when we got there! The pictures didn't really do it justice- I think they have been updated since we went. The home was fairly convenient to get to as far as the mountains go- especially after we drove it a few times- the owner was very helpful and even had a local person for us if we needed anything- The home was very, very clean and the decor was the best part for me, as it was decorated to represent the area- which was an education for me, bear skin rugs, pillows, mirrors, and light fixtures! We enjoyed hiking "the Hanging Lake" and biking the Rio Grande Trail. My 16 year old son liked the steam shower the best- my 12 year old daughter liked the animal skin blankets and tv. I also really liked the ride to "Redstone" it was absolutely beautiful as a river flowed down all the way up- with hot springs intermittent. My husband really enjoyed soaking in the hot tub viewing the "Twin Peaks" which apparently is quite a phenomenon in those parts!!! My cousin came to visit and assured us we had a million dollar view!
