Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding
Spend an adventure-packed day exploring the vast and varied terrain on Beaver Creek or Vail Mountain. Private and group ski or snowboard lessons are available for ages three and up. Both Vail and Beaver Creek provide mountain tours daily for confident skiers. The tours are a fantastic way to learn the individuality of each mountain.
Take a day to explore our beautiful cross-country skiing areas. Cross-country skiing is a great way to take advantage of the Rockies while sneaking in a workout. Venture to one of the parks or speak with your Concierge about arranging a private tour. The private tour will enable you to go to unpopulated areas and take in the tranquility of your mountain retreat. Equipment and lunch are included.
Climb aboard for a fun filled adventure on your own snowmobile while exploring the National Historic Site of Camp Hale or the beauty of the Gore Range. Snowmobiles are available both guided and unguided for single or double riders.
Trails welcome snowboarders in Bachelor Gulch and across Beaver Creek Mountain. Riding lessons are also available here and at Vail.
Indulge in a winter snowshoe hike throughout the beautiful back country terrain in Colorado. Snowshoe at McCoy Park in Beaver Creek or ask your Concierge to arrange a private tour with lunch and equipment included.
In the heart of Beaver Creek Village, you can skate year-round at a 150-foot-long, 65-foot-wide rink. Skate rentals are available. A special Zamboni prepares the ice every three hours. Year-round ice skating is also possible at the Dobson Arena in Vail. Nottingham Lake, located in Avon, is a natural option when weather and conditions permit.
Nothing embodies the Rocky Mountain Winter more than a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the Aspens and across the rolling meadows. Both Vail and Beaver Creek resorts offer dinner and sleigh rides involving warm hearths, cozy rides and memories to last a lifetime.
Dog Sled Rides
Enjoy a scenic seven miles behind Alaskan malamutes, Siberian Polar huskies or Eskimo huskies. With only the sled runners between your boots and the powdery snow, you can spend two hours enjoying the rhythm of 32 feet padding along the trail.
Spend a fun-filled afternoon atop Vail Mountain. Ride the gondola, slide down the tubing hill, race around the snowmobile track (ages 6 - 12 years), ice skate, snow shoe, show your skills at orienteering, play laser tag, jump high on the rebound trampoline, ride a ski bike or simply have a drink or some food and take in the spectacular views.
Based in Beaver Creek Sports in the Lobby of The Ritz-Carlton Club, Bachelor Gulch, Gore Creek fly-fishermen will gladly prepare you for this adventure, providing everything from private lessons and an introduction to fly-fishing, and private fishing excursions. Red Sky Golf Club’s two new championship golf courses sprawl just 15 minutes from Bachelor Gulch. Located in the prestigious Red Sky Ranch development, this private golf club welcomes you. Transportation to Red Sky Ranch is not included, but can be arranged through the concierge.
Opened in 2002, the Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course measures 7,113 yards (Par 72) and merges open sage-covered hills, dense aspen forest and a highland lake with spectacular vistas of Vail’s Back Bowls. This course was named one of the top 10 new courses in America by Golf Magazine.
Opened in the summer of 2003, the flow and play of the 7,500-yard (Par 72) Greg Norman-designed championship golf course is dictated by craggy rock outcroppings, twisted knots of scrub oak, rugged gulches and wildflower meadows.
Guided tours offer nature hikes for all ages and ability levels from June 30 through September 7. Choose to climb a 14,000-foot peak or take a gentle stroll on Beaver Creek Mountain. Equipment and transportation are included.
Stables throughout the area offer trail riding for one to six hours. Sunset dinners, wagon rides and picnics are also available.
