We are making our home in the Marina district available for short- or mid-term rental on a highly selective basis. Everybody, of course, wants to know what 'highly selective' means.
It means... trustworthy, compulsively neat, non-smokers who will take good care of our home and be considerate of the neighbors. It means you will enjoy San Francisco as much as we do. Its a wonderful city and this location is a perfect location to enjoy it. It also means you would not even think of running the jacuzzi bath tub at 3 am or practicing the violin! This is a quiet neighborhood and sound travels in these vintage 1925 buildings.
This is our home, but we often spend time abroad. This is not a sterile 'vacation' rental with a few cups and plates. It is a very well furnished and equipped home which is a perfect place to relax after exploring all that San Francisco has to offer. The location is ideal. A two minute stroll will take you to Chestnut Street which is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, interesting shops, and great people watching. The fun continues from Chestnut Street to Fillmore and Union Street with more of the same.
The Palace of Fine Arts, the Marina Green, Crissy Field, the Presidio and Fort Mason, are virtually at your doorstep. A longer walk along the bay and you are at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fort Point is just under the bridge. To the east is Fort Mason, Aquatic Park, the Maritime Museum and Fisherman's Wharf where you can take the trolley all along the embarcadero. The Stockton 30 bus takes you almost anywhere you want to go in the city and its just at the corner of Scott and Chestnut.
Our classic Marina full floor flat is over 1400 square feet and occupies the entire second floor of the building. From front to back is the living room, entry way, formal dining room, large kitchen with a breakfast area, two bedrooms, two baths, sun room office and a deck.
Our home is full of sunlight. The exposure is east to west, so you have morning sun in the bedrooms, sun room and deck. In the afternoon, sunlight floods the living room. Our building looks west down Bay Street so there are no buildings directly across the street to block your view of the sunset, clouds or fog.
Our flat has two bedrooms each with an excellent quality queen size bed (150 cm) bed. Two bathrooms, one en-suite with a jacuzzi tub and combination shower, the other with a glass enclosed shower.
The sun room is a fully equipped office with a computer (if you don't have your laptop) and printer/fax/copier. High speed wireless access is provided throughout our home.
The kitchen has granite countertops, quality appliances and is fully equipped with all manner of kitchen equipment.
The two bathrooms were recently renovated in natural stone, marble and and tile. The ensuite bathroom has a jacuzzi tub with a shower, the hall bathroom has a glass enclosed shower.
The living room fireplace has gas logs, perfect on a foggy evening.
The deck, off the sun room, is a sunny place for morning coffee and has a gas barbecue.
Like most cities, parking is difficult and expensive. You really don't need a car in San Francisco. You can buy a weekly pass for Muni and it includes the cable cars. We can arrange a street parking permit for you.
Our rate is all inclusive, including weekly maid service, there are no hidden or additional fees or costs.
Our location is perfect, its a 5 minute stroll to the Marina Green and the bay. Turn left and its a 2 mile walk to the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn right and you walk along the bay, via Fort Mason, to Fisherman's Wharf. The other direction is Chestnut Street, to Filmore to Union St. everything you need in easy walking distance.
