We are making our home in the Marina district available for short- or mid-term rental on a highly selective basis. Everybody, of course, wants to know what 'highly selective' means.
It means... trustworthy, compulsively neat, non-smokers who will take good care of our home and be considerate of the neighbors. It means you will enjoy San Francisco as much as we do. Its a wonderful city and this location is a perfect location to enjoy it. It also means you would not even think of running the jacuzzi bath tub at 3 am or practicing the violin! This is a quiet neighborhood and sound travels in these vintage 1925 buildings.
This is our home, but we often spend time abroad. This is not a sterile 'vacation' rental with a few cups and plates. It is a very well furnished and equipped home which is a perfect place to relax after exploring all that San Francisco has to offer. The location is ideal. A two minute stroll will take you to Chestnut Street which is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, interesting shops, and great people watching. The fun continues from Chestnut Street to Fillmore and Union Street with more of the same.
The Palace of Fine Arts, the Marina Green, Crissy Field, the Presidio and Fort Mason, are virtually at your doorstep. A longer walk along the bay and you are at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fort Point is just under the bridge. To the east is Fort Mason, Aquatic Park, the Maritime Museum and Fisherman's Wharf where you can take the trolley all along the embarcadero. The Stockton 30 bus takes you almost anywhere you want to go in the city and its just at the corner of Scott and Chestnut.
Our classic Marina full floor flat is over 1400 square feet and occupies the entire second floor of the building. From front to back is the living room, entry way, formal dining room, large kitchen with a breakfast area, two bedrooms, two baths, sun room office and a deck.
Our home is full of sunlight. The exposure is east to west, so you have morning sun in the bedrooms, sun room and deck. In the afternoon, sunlight floods the living room. Our building looks west down Bay Street so there are no buildings directly across the street to block your view of the sunset, clouds or fog.
Our flat has two bedrooms each with an excellent quality queen size bed (150 cm) bed. Two bathrooms, one en-suite with a jacuzzi tub and combination shower, the other with a glass enclosed shower.
The sun room is a fully equipped office with a computer (if you don't have your laptop) and printer/fax/copier. High speed wireless access is provided throughout our home.
The kitchen has granite countertops, quality appliances and is fully equipped with all manner of kitchen equipment.
The two bathrooms were recently renovated in natural stone, marble and and tile. The ensuite bathroom has a jacuzzi tub with a shower, the hall bathroom has a glass enclosed shower.
The living room fireplace has gas logs, perfect on a foggy evening.
The deck, off the sun room, is a sunny place for morning coffee and has a gas barbecue.
Like most cities, parking is difficult and expensive. You really don't need a car in San Francisco. You can buy a weekly pass for Muni and it includes the cable cars. We can arrange a street parking permit for you.
Our rate is all inclusive, including weekly maid service, there are no hidden or additional fees or costs.
We are a retired couple that loves to travel to other great places in the world.
It's San Francisco!
We think our location in San Francisco is perfect. You can't beat the Marina for having it all.
Scott street is wonderful apartment and a great place to come back to at the end if a long day. The property is very close to the bus network and a route that will take you straight downtown or very close to the baseball stadium (highly recommend attending a game). The palace of fine arts is a short walk away, with Golden Gate Bridge or fishermans wharf are further away but still walkable. Although parking in SF can be difficult, the owners arranged for a visitors permit for our stay, although a car is not essential for SF, if you want to explore the Bay Area then it is the easiest way, however been warned that most spaces to park are on the small side so large cars/SUVs will struggle to find a spot close by
We would happily rent Scott street again, if we return to San Francisco
Such a lovely flat, in a perfect neighborhood in the city. We went for the birth of our second grandchild and couldn't have found more convenient or more perfect accommodations for the month. We all enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed many wonderful family meals. It was so convenient to Marina market and whatever we needed on Chestnut street. Don't be surprised if an adorable 2yr old climbs your stairs looking for her "GIGI" and "BAPA". Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Just spent a week with our family of four. Couldn't have picked a better spot! An upscale market, restaurants galore were a short two blocks away. Fresh croissants and scones were a hit every morning from the bakery. We walked to Marina Green to watch the LV round robin and explored the rest of the city with ease. The wine country was within easy reach with quick access to the Golden Gate bridge.
The house was comfortable for the four of us (kids 9 and 14). Kitchen was fully stocked and the grill was a plus. Definitely would look to stay here again on a return trip.
My wife and a friend from London recently stayed here for 7 nights. Quoting my friend from across the pond - the flat was "absolutely brilliant!". Location is right next to Chestnut Street with its wide array of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, market, and just about everything to meet your needs.
The Stockton 30 bus stop is 3 minutes walk from the flat. So convenient we were even able to get to the Giants baseball game! The flat is super clean and has all the amenities to make for a wonderful stay.
My favorite moments were the morning views from the bay window up towards the mansions in Pacific Heights. Made my Costa Rican coffee a truly amazing cup every time! I recommend this lovely flat and hope to return again!
My husband and I just moved to the city and were in need of a short-term rental during the house hunting process. We stayed in this beautiful home for a month and could not have been happier. The location is superb, the bed was super comfy, and the espresso machine was perfect for making our morning coffees! The owners were so easy to work with and touched base every couple of weeks to make sure we had everything we needed! And we did! We never needed to bother them because everything was perfect!
The patio was great for sipping wine in the evenings and the washer/dryer downstairs in the garage made doing laundry super convenient! The movie theater, grocery store, deli, wine shop, and tons of restaurants are within a 2 block walk and makes this the absolute BEST location in the Marina!
Bottom line, I highly recommend this apartment and would love to stay here again should the situation arise! Thank you, Sylvia!
My husband and I stayed in during "Fleet Week" . It was a fabulous experience! We walked to the Fleet week activities - with no worries about traffice or parking, it was awesome! We walked to breakfast, dinner and The Palace of Fine Arts. We left our car in the garage and walked everywhere. It was so cool to feel like we belonged in the San Francisco scene!
Very nice and trusting owners! We will stay here again!
Our location is perfect, its a 5 minute stroll to the Marina Green and the bay. Turn left and its a 2 mile walk to the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn right and you walk along the bay, via Fort Mason, to Fisherman's Wharf. The other direction is Chestnut Street, to Filmore to Union St. everything you need in easy walking distance.
