We purchased a home on Lake Hamilton in 2010 for ourselves and loved Hot Springs and all of its offerings so much that we purchased a house for rental.
Donnarae Powell purchased this house in 2011
The location of this property is ideal! It is easily accessed, centrally located, and Lake Hamilton's main channel is the back yard!
The view of the lake from this lot was a top selling point. Also the fenced backyard is great for families and adds a feel of privacy. This home is newly remodeled so it gives a very fresh feeling to guests. Lastly, a lake home is not complete without parking for boat and trailer!
The house was perfect for our family getaway. The ten-year old cousins had a great time in the yard, on the swing, and fishing from the wonderful dock. They loved the bunk beds and since there are two sets, they didn't have to argue about who got the top bunk! It was great to sit out on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the action on the lake. Nice kitchen and comfortable beds.
We had a WONDERFUL weekend at this lake house! There were 8 girls and the house was perfect! It was so peaceful by the lake, the view was incredible and we had fun swimming and relaxing on the deck all weekend. The house is even better in person and we will definitely be coming back next summer - we've decided to make this an annual trip! I also left my kindle in my bed and didn't realize it until I was almost home. I called Donnarae, they had found my kindle and shipped it back to me immediately - Thank you so much for that!! We really had an amazing, fun time and we cannot wait to come back!
This was our second stay at this home and we loved it even more! The house is so comfortable in every way. We loved the covered patio on rainy days and the deck on sunny days. The covered boat dock was so easy to access and the lake was beautiful! We all slept wonderfully and our kids loved the bunk beds and Big Joe chairs! The grill and fully furnished kitchen provided excellent meals for all of us after long days on the lake and the Shipley Donuts were a joy to have delivered right to our front door in the morning! We made lots of family memories here and look forward to another stay next year!
This was a last minute accommodation and it was such a breeze reserving it. We were only planning on staying 2 nights. On the first night we arrived late (after 11pm) and had a bit of difficulty finding the home on the small street. I was able to send a text and was promptly called and helped. That was very sweet. The home was clean and in my opinion, better than pictured. The views of the lake from the large windows were fantastic! After our 2 nights were up, we were off to our next destination-which turned out to be terrible! We were able to text & find that this home had a few nights more still opened...we quickly reserved the additional nights came back! The gift of wine on the counter was such a nice treat. The beds were comfortable, the furnishings were nice...it was just all around cozy. I would highly recommend this home to anyone! Kids caught fish right off the dock, swimming in the lake, and the swing hanging from the tree was great. At night they caught fireflies and played flashlight tag in the huge yard. Sunsets were incredible! Thank you for allowing us to use this home while making great memories with our family for summer 2014.
We had a wonderful trip. The view from the house was beautiful. The house was very clean and nice. We rented and boat, kayaked and fished off the deck out back. The tree swing was a fun surprise even for the adults. If your looking for a nice relaxing place to stay and get in some good family time..... you found it.
We loved the vacation home. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful. The pictures are an exact representation of the lake house. From the moment we walked, we knew we were in for a treat. The beds are incredibly comfortable, AC nice and cold, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to grill and cook. We ate most meals at the house. We loved the large kitchen so we could all be in there together cooking. The bar was great for having our dinners together if we didn't sit outside on the beautiful patio. We also had some fun card games around the bar as well. We rented a party boat one day. That was a blast. The kids had fun tubing, fishing, and just enjoying the beauty of the lake. The men enjoyed a day of golf at Diamondhead Country Club while the ladies had fun shopping downtown Hot Springs. Bath House Spa at the Arlington Hotel is a must do. We went to Lake Catherine one day for a nice hike to a water falls ending with a picnic. Husband suggested for the master bedroom; the neighbors have a bright flood light that stays on all night long making the room pretty light. Might be nice to have darkening shades or curtains. We would certainly recommend this home to friends and family and we are a,ready talking about coming back. Thank you for a great week in Arkansas.
In addition to the lake, Hot Springs has tons of fun activities and sights to see. Bathhouse Row downtown showcases a little history of the city and gives you an opportunity to experience it too! You can schedule a mineral bath or massage or just take a tour of the beautiful buildings. Also, the gangster museum and a wax museum are located downtown. Hot Springs National Park Aquarium and the Arkansas Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo are big fun for the kids. You can explore the beautiful scenery at Garvan Woodland Gardens or see the whole city from Hot Springs Mountain Tower - which is 1,200 feet above the city! Magic Springs theme park and Crystal Falls water park (located on one property) is really fun for the whole family - they also host some great concerts! And don't forget, a movie theater, miniature golf, go-karts, and laser tag all nearby! One of the main attractions in Hot Springs is Oaklawn Racing Park. Oaklawn hosts live thoroughbred horse racing from January through April and offers 'Instant Racing', simulcasting and electronic games like poker and blackjack year-round. Oaklawn also has a casino area and some really great food! Last, but certainly not least, is the dining in Hot Springs. There are numerous fantastic restaurants with almost all types of cuisine! There are even a few restaurants on the lake that can be reached by boat. There are lots of activities to keep you busy or you can just enjoy the serenity of the lake!
