About The Owner

My husband and I are the parents of two sweet, wonderfully spirited boys, ages five and two. We have lived here in Pagosa for the past 15 years after visiting the area once for a Christmas holiday in 1997. Chris and I are both from the east coast (Virginia Beach) originally, however, after visiting Colorado so many years ago, we instantly had a deep connection to this sweet, little town and immediately put in action a plan to make a life here together. We spent our initial years in Pagosa enjoying all the outdoor activities the area has to offer and working as little as possible. In 2005, we opened the first UPS Store here in Pagosa. After the birth of our first son in 2008, after having built that business into a great success, we decided to sell it to spend as much time as possible with our son. We were able to enjoy about a year of mostly carefree time spent being new parents. In 2010, we aquired an existing restaurant (a pizza place) here in Pagosa. We successfully owned and operated it for about two years and in the spring of 2011, we had our second son. With two young children, it became apparent that restaurant ownership was not conducive to the life we wanted to be living. We sold the restaurant in the fall of 2012 to one of our best employees. She currently owns and operates it beautifully...if you come to Pagosa, you have to visit DSP Pizzeria on the west side of town. Best pizza in Pagosa! My husband has since aquired his real estate license, revisiting a profession he once held when we met in Virginia 17 years ago. His company, Dutton Creek Realty, is located just down the street from the rental property. We currently live just minutes away from the property, so renters have the added benefit of direct contact with the owners any time, should the need arise.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Snowboarding in spring

We had a great time staying at this nice home, in a great location. Family enjoyed everything from the cookies left on the counter, to the soaking in the hot tube after a day on the mountain. Well definitely stay in the house on all our future visits, thanks for a great spring break.

My girlfriends and I just had a wonderful stay at the Historic Home in Pagosa Springs. The home was wonderful and the hot tub out back even made it special. The owners left us a welcome Yum Apple Pie from the bakery there in town, be sure to visit it.

As advertised

  • 5 of 5
We chose this location as a hedge against poor snow conditions at Wolf Creek, and while the winter of 2013-2014 continues to disappoint, this location was superb. We were able to walk and wander the town from this very convenient location. The house is charming, and the owner responds quickly and capably to inquiries and issues.

Perfect home stocked with everything!

  • 5 of 5
Our group of 7 stayed at this home over Spring Break and were amazed at how awesome this house is! All of us are in our early to mid twenties, and we all had our own space and were very comfortable. It is definitely in the heart of downtown, and the only time we had to drive was to get to the Wolf Creek Ski Area and hiking trails. Besides that, we walked for almost every meal, we walked to rent ski equipment, and could have walked to the hot springs if we had more time.
The hot tub is HUGE, and the surrounding area is quiet. No very close neighbors.
The owner is so sweet, and so easy to work with.
I hope she liked us too, because we are definitely coming back!!

Our Annual Ski Trib

  • 5 of 5
This was our fifth time in the past six years that we have come to Pagosa Springs for our Spring Break ski trip. We were unable to get the condo where we usually stay so we started a search and stumbled on this one. The listing is everything it says it is. It's clean and well maintained and the photos accurately reflect it's appearance. This is by far the best place we have stayed. Upon our arrival Anna had a blueberry/apple pie waiting for us which was a really nice touch. I didn't realize this before but the convenience of having your own drive way next to the house and being close enough to walk to shops and restaurants is an added bonus. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in Pagosa Springs. We walked to The Rose Restaurant for breakfast 3 times and it's very good. Anna gave us some great tips on restaurants and she was right on. We bought some beef filets and Ribeye from The Buck Stops Here in Uptown and grilled them at the house. It's a little pricey but it's very high quality meat. You get what you pay for. Smokin Moes BBQ was excellent. We had a dinner on our last night at The Alley House just a couple of blocks from the house. It's pricey but very good. One final note. Our daughters boyfriend proposed to her on top of the mountain on our last day there. There were some issues with the ring so we had it express mailed to Anna's PO box and we picked it up from her on Thursday. Then on Friday after the proposal and when we got back from Wolf Creek, we were packing up the car and Anna showed up with a bottle of congratulatory champagne. That was a very nice gesture.
