We came up from Southern California for a wedding, and loved our stay! We had the craziest drive coming up, having been in a car accident, and the owners were so understanding and showed compassion for our situation. They were so sweet, and checked up on us throughout our stay to make sure things were going well. In addition to their kindness, the cottage was so comfy, with the cutest breakfast nook table, and the best bed EVER!!!!! Also, the unattached bathroom was super nice, with a roomy shower, and stocked with fresh towels. If what you are looking for is intimate, romantic, and relaxing, this is the place for you. When I find myself to be in Sonoma County again, I will be coming here! P.S.-The cat is amazing
I am an ex-Marinite stuck in Houston, and I visit N. California friends and family at least once a year. I've stayed in several places in Marin and Sonoma, and this cottage by far had the rest of them beat as far as accommodations and location go. Sebastapol is such a lovely place, and this cottage is nestled in a great spot in the hills, only about 30 minutes from Bodega Bay. Thanks to the owners for making this property available! I hope to be back next year sometime.
I just returned from a weekend stay, and could not have been more pleased! I think the cottage is even nicer in person than the photos. Everything inside and out was spotless and in perfect condition - and very comfortable. I loved the colorful flowers and various art pieces in the garden, which made for a lovely view from the deck. Karen was extremely gracious and helpful, and made me feel at home. The only pet I met was Harry, and he became my new friend. :-) I love that the surrounding area is so beautiful as well, and for me it was a great base to go exploring from. I highly recommend this cottage for its charm, great price, and wonderful owners!
I spent 17 days here in this little corner of paradise while searching for permanent accommodation in the area. The amenities are first class, with everything designed to provide guests with a stress-free, relaxing break. Karen and Doc are fabulous hosts; there if you ever need anything, but at the same time totally unobtrusive. They are a font of information and can steer you in the right direction for anything you wish to do, be it yoga, grocery shopping or wine tasting! And no review of Blue Skies would be complete without mention of (Prince) Harry and Grey, the resident pussycats and Dixie, the most adorable little dog you could ever hope to meet! A wonderful family, a wonderful setting - if you're in the area, this is the place for you :)) Oh, and Karen found me permanent accommodation - the icing on the cake!
What a charming place, quiet, cozy, and comfortable. I appreciated the good framed art and fabulously comfortable bed inside and the garden setting outside, especially the deck and chair for late afternoon reading in the sun. The cottage is close to town and to Bodega Bay where glittering beaches and whale watching await. Karen and Doc accommodated my schedule and were kind. I loved the Sebastopol area and will definitely be back for more of their hospitality.
I stayed here multiple nights in October and November 2013 visiting a new grandson. The property is spotless and well appointed. Easy distance from Sebastopol for restaurants and shopping. Works well for a single or couple (my husband stayed with me on weekends) I will definitely stay again.
