One of only 58 residences in the newly built Sapphire Beach complex, Amikka is a duplex apartment of 1630 sq ft, situated right on Dover Beach on Barbados’ South West coast. Downstairs the apartment comprises a double bedroom with king sized bed, en-suite shower room, washer drier and plentiful storage space. Sliding doors open onto your own patio and onto one of Sapphire Beach’s two private fresh water swimming pools with gated access directly onto Dover Beach. Upstairs there is a further double bedroom with king sized bed (rear facing) and en-suite bathroom, plentiful storage, fully fitted kitchen, spacious living area leading onto a large covered balcony. Balcony has a six seat table for al fresco dining, whilst the double arch windows give you the opportunity to dine in privacy. The balcony is south facing and from here you will see fantastic sunsets over the Caribbean Sea. The apartment comes with TV, iPod dock, air-con in both bedrooms & lounge. Sapphire Beach has a private gym.

The local beach: our family has been lucky enough to be holidaying in Barbados for a good number of years. So we knew that one of the critical factors for us when we decided to purchase a property on island was the quality of the beach and the safety of the water. We know from experience that there are many beautiful properties on island but the beaches and sea around them can be difficult for young or inexperienced or unsteady swimmers and we wanted to ensure that our whole family, every generation, could enjoy their time together all day. Dover Beach is beautiful but also gently shelving and with much calmer water than even the immediately adjacent beach which we have struggled to swim from. It is the choice of local families at weekends for good reason!

The island: At just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, Barbados rivals destinations several times its size. Surrounded by over 70 miles of white sand beaches distinguished as some of the finest in the Caribbean, the island has long attracted visitors to its shores. With a beautiful landscape dotted by pristine golf courses, polo fields and elegant estates, world-class restaurants, vibrant night life and an exciting social calendar of cultural, music and sporting events, Barbados is truly an island paradise.

The climate: Just outside the main hurricane belt, the island enjoys year-round sunshine, cooling north-east trade winds and just enough rainfall to maintain its lush tropical gardens, gullies and rolling green fields of sugar cane, reminiscent of its history as an agricultural colony in the British Empire.

The people: Perhaps the island’s greatest asset is the warmth of its people. Barbadians are proud of their home and welcome visitors with open arms, making them feel as if they have lived next door all their life. We welcome you to experience the island’s unique culture and get a feel of what it truly means to be ‘Bajan’.

Unforgettable stay

First experience in Barbados. Fantastic. Wheter, food, people. Excellent accommodation in the Sapphire Condominium with all kind of confort in the Amikka Appartment.

The condo was all we expected it to be.

Without a doubt, the best condo location in the complex. Three steps to the pool, and only a few more to the beautiful beach. Everything we needed was there as stated in the add. Anita the manager was great and took care of anything we asked for. The complex is walking distance to The GAP and shopping, as well as great eating establishments like Johnny Cools right next door.
We hit all the main attractions, including Mount Gay Rum, the Caves, Abby's and the Pottery place. Also did some scuba diving on a few of the local reefs with The Scuba Shop, and sailed on the 6 hour turtle snorkel with Cool Running. The crew on that sail was a lot of fun, and the drinks and food weren't bad either.
WE were there from 5/6/14 to 5/13/14 and the weather was perfect. Water temp. was about 85 degrees.
All in all i'd give it a 5 of 5 if this computer would let me.

Perfect vacation getaway!

We stayed at this beautiful and clean condo for 5 days for our first family vacation with our 1 year old along with another couple. It was perfect! The condo has everything we needed. It was centrally located in St. Lawrence Gap. The grocery store and restaurants are right by the condo complex. It was great to have the beach and the pool as our backyard!The owners were very responsive and helpful! We really enjoyed our stay!

Better than 1st Class !!!

Had a week in St Lucia followed by a week in Barbados; - if you want a 2nd class vacation go to St Lucia !! - St Lawrence Gap is fantastic, - saved a few $$$ as we didn't need a rental - plenty of places to eat within easy strolling distance and a little convenience store nearby. Fantastic condo - free WiFi so we could check e-mails on the downstairs terrace with a nice glass of wine. We found "The Gap" to be absolutely awesome and Sapphire Beach the best place in the Gap and "Amikka" the jewel in Sapphire Beach's crown - Thanks for the welcome pack - a cold beer and glass of wine on arrival was a great touch and really appreciated !!

Included in the price of the rental is maid service 3 times per week and a welcome grocery pack. We employ the services of a local property manager who will meet you on arrival at our apartment and will remain available to you throughout your stay in case of any problems, rare though they are.
