Fayston House Rental Photos and Description
3 large bedrooms & 3 private bunk areas sleep 12
Welcome to our beloved family home in the Mad River Valley. Our house has a sense of seclusion but is close to just about everything. The surrounding landscape, rock formations and views make this the ideal base camp for your next family adventure in Vermont.
The house has 3 large primary bedrooms each with a warm and comfortable queen size bed and each bedroom has a unique and beautiful view. The master suite has a private covered deck and an attached master bath with a heated Jacuzzi tub. The view from every room is spectacular. Most have views of the summit of Mt Ellen. Additionally, there are 3 more private bunk areas, one with a double bed and 2 with 2 twin beds each. There is also a full-size futon in a sitting area. So the house can comfortably sleep 12 people. The kitchen is equipped with high-grade stainless steel appliances including a Wolf range, dishwasher and built-in convection microwave. Countertops are granite, butcher block and stainless steel. The house has 4 levels so if you have young children and teenagers, they can congregate in separate areas. There is a library of children’s DVDs and several games for the young ones as well as a pool and ping-pong table in the basement game room.
The den features a wood burning stone fireplace, leather couches, a large screen TV and patio doors that open onto a covered porch with spectacular views of the mountain. We have basic cable and HBO during the ski & summer seasons and the television is equipped with Netflix and a DVD player. Many rooms have TVs and either a DVD player or VHS player. There are numerous DVDs and videotapes for all ages. The living room has comfortable leather couches, a warm gas fireplace and great views of the mountain. There is a large deck outside the living room and dining area that is great for dining on our bistro tables during the warmer seasons. You can watch the sun rise behind the house from either the kitchen or living room and at days end watch it set behind Mt Ellen. You can also sit on the Adirondack chairs located on the covered front porch in any season while you cook supper on the outdoor grille or just take in the great alpine views. There is a laundry room in the basement.
The shuttle stop is approximately a 100 yard walk but since the house is located just off German Flats road midway between Sugarbush north and south, driving to either base area is less than 5 minutes. There is 1 full bath on the first floor and a guest bath on the second floor where the main bedrooms are located. (3 baths in all) The famed Catamount Trail which is a winter only trail designated for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing is a short hike from the house. Snow shoes are available on loan from the owner at no charge upon request.

About Tobin Koch
After having a Sugarbush condo while my children were growing up, I decided to build a house where we could all gather as they grew into their adult lives. We love it here winter, summer and in between. A fantastic place for recreation and relaxation in a peaceful setting.
Tobin Koch purchased this house in 2000
Why Tobin Koch chose Fayston
This house provides all the comforts of home away from home. Everything you want to do in Vermont is nearby. The towns of Waitsfield and Warren are pure Vermont. You have a great sense of privacy but also a sense of not being too far out.
What makes this house unique
The views and the surrounding landscape really set this house apart. You get great views of the morning sunrise and of the sunset at days end. It is ideal for families who have children of different ages because it has several gathering areas on different levels of the house with games, video viewing areas and a pool table for the teens.
