Natchez Trace State Park is on the same road as the property. With the many acres of scenic woodlands, the park includes four lakes, a swimming beach, camping areas, picnicking sites, playgrounds, a ball field, a regulation pistol firing range, picturesque hiking trails, a wrangler camp, 250 miles of horse riding trails, a park store, and archery range. Located at I-40, exit 116, this area is composed of a State Park, State Forest and a WMA with a total of 48,000 acres. The Tennessee Division of State Parks, Tennessee Division of Forestry and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency share administration of this area.
Natchez Trace State Park is named for the famous 'Natchez to Nashville' highway, an important wilderness road during the early 18th century. A western spur of The Trace ran through a portion of what is now the park. The park was built as part of President Roosevelt's 'New Deal' program. The land was bought from residents who could no longer make a living farming the land because of extensive erosion problems.
I fell in love with this Cottage the moment I saw the property. I am constantly making improvements and making sure that guests are comfortable and feel at home while staying at the property. My children and I stay in the cottage on a regular basis.
