Overview

Radicondoli Villa Rental Photos and Description

200sm House,700smGarden,Pool,4 Bedrooms,3 bathrooms, 2 Terrace Fruit Trees

“Casa di Leo” Holiday Home is a big, wonderful and a bit Romantic house and it is located in Belforte, a small and delightful characteristic medieval village just 3 km away from Radicondoli.

Thanks to its strategic position on a hilltop, Belforte was founded as military fortress by the Romans. Largely preserved today, the walls which surround the village are in the care of Commission for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage for the Province of Siena . The latest written information about the village dates from 1215. The Holiday Home is ideal for families, groups of friends or simply perfect for people who desire to spend a relaxing holiday in the lap of nature and art, among the beautiful and sweet Tuscan hills. The Holiday Home is very big (200 sm) and it was largely reorganized in 2012. Building materials have been well-chosen, according both to quality and naturalness. Work and hand-painted Italian ceramics were used both in the big bathroom on the first floor and in the little one in the mansard; the parquet, which covers the whole area, has been totally made in Italy, it is natural and completely absent of further artificial treatments. All that has been done according to a philosophy which favours quality over quantity.

The house is organized on three different floors. On the lower floor there is a big typical taverna with wooden-beamed ceiling: there is a big living room with sofas, armchairs and TV, ideal for parties, for enjoying a film in front of the huge fireplace during the cold winter, or even just for playing board games with friends. Here it is also possible to find some local geographical maps and a big bookcase, if you want to relax and read a bit, and there is also a little musicians corner with piano and a guitar, so that musicians can feel at home and play.

The first floor is the bigger and main one. Here there is a wide living room, a modern kitchen, a dining room, three bright bedrooms and two bath rooms. On the second floor there is a bath room and the biggest bedroom of Leo’s house; in front of this one there is a panoramic terrace/solarium overlooking the amazing landscape.

The house is surrounded by a huge neat garden (700 sm) with flowers and fruit trees (cheery, apricot, plum, grape, apple and pear trees), two wonderful pergolas and a new swimming-pool! This one has been built in full compliance with the natural environment and the surrounding walls (in the care of Commission for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage). Near the swimming pool, there is an area with sunbeds, beach umbrellas and chairs.

Animals are, as general rule, welcome!

Casa di Leo’s owners are a young and friendly couple, active and efficient, always ready to help you to make your stay unforgettable. They both speak good English and French and are always available not only to give you simple information and suggestion, but trying to transmit you love and passion for such wonderful places, hoping that you could also fall in love with them.

About Leo & Alessandra

Alessandra and Leo were born in Turin, in the north west of Italy. They came in Tuscany in 1993 and they simply fell in love with the magic landscape of the region. They love art and nature: she's a painter and he's an actor and they are always avaiable to give information and advice.

Leo & Alessandra purchased this villa in 2012

Why Leo & Alessandra chose Radicondoli

This property was bought in 2011 by the owners. The House was on sale and the first time we saw it, we were struck by the elegance and the peculiarities of the villa. What we particularly liked is the garden: from the outside of the house, it was not possible to imagine how wonderful and spacious it was.

What makes this villa unique

The guests of Casa di Leo can have the possibility to enjoy a wonderful and relaxing holiday, according to their needs. On the one hand, they can decide to spend a restful time in a private, comfortable and spacious Holiday Home; on the other hand, they can choose to have an alternative holiday, travelling around the region, visiting historical and art cities and discoverinf natural areas of Tuscany.

Our Tuscan Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had dreamt of finding a little Tuscan village and living there for an extended period of time. So on my year long maternity leave we decided to pack up our baby and do just that! We resided at Casa di Leo for two months and loved every moment. The views from the yard are stunning (as is the yard itself), the townsfolk are warm and friendly and Leo and Alessandra go above and beyond to make sure every need is met (including a crib!). The home is well organized and comfortably accommodated all of our friends that came to visit. Leo and Alessandra provided really good recommendations on places to go and places to eat! They even arranged for chefs to come to our home and cook for us! (And the food was amazing!). The location is absolutely perfect for sightseeing all around Tuscany and is literally a 40 minute drive to any place (ie. Florence, Siena, chianti region, the coast, Volterra, San Gimignano, etc). The only drawback for us was that being there in October/November was slow season so the bar/cafe in Belforte was rarely open but the Agriteca in Radicondoli more than made up for that! I would highly recommend this location for a true and very authentic Tuscan experience.

Quintessential Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

Frutteta is a delightful villa in the heart of Tuscany. The ancient village (Belforte) is unspoiled and gives a glimpse of local living. The villa itself is beautifully appointed, with modern appliances and charming decor, but with a long history. The grounds are large and provide lots of spaces for a quiet snooze in the sun or shade, a myriad of seating options and of course the pool which looks out over the typical Tuscan landscape. If you want a taste of Tuscany without the tourist bustle Frutteta is ideal. Leo and Alessandra are wonderful hosts and Leo has a great gift for storytelling. The historical cities of Sienna and San Gimigiano are a short drive away and there are lots of other villages within the locality. There is only a small village shop and post office, a fishmonger whom comes once a week, and a local restaurant/bar, but this adds to the feeling of being in REAL place and not a touristy place. Our part was three couples and we spent a delightful week here - we thoroughly recommend it!

Taste of Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I shared this delightful villa with two other couples. We all had plenty of room, with lots of spaces both inside and out to either enjoy each other's company or to spend some time alone, reading or just relaxing. The villa has been beautiful renovated, with all mod cons and the views fantastic, especially from the pool! The town of Belforte seemed like a taste of traditional Tuscan life, with quiet streets (except for the sound of bells, and occasionally the neighbourhood women having a natter!) and seemingly no other tourists. If you are looking for nightlife, and cafes and restaurants, you will have to drive a little way, but this is compensated for by the feeling of peace and tranquility, and the chance to live (almost) like a local. Leo and Alessandra are excellent hosts, very helpful and yet unobtrusive. I thoroughly recommend this villa for a relaxing, Tuscan experience.

Incredible Tuscan Experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth trip to Italy so we were looking for a different Tuscan experience. Instead of going from hotel to hotel or a B&B we wanted a house in the country all to ourselves. The spacious and beautiful “Casa di Leo” holiday house was everything we had hoped for. When we book a vacation home online I’m never 100% sure that what you see is what you get - but Casa di Leo house lived up to its description and much, much more.

We stayed there for 18 days and had the most terrific time. We are already planning our return next year. For us, Leo and his wife Alessandra were the ideal hosts. Answering our questions and making recommendations was always done in a timely and efficientl manner.

On two different occasions Leo and Alessandra prepared us a wonderful “authentic Italian dinner” that was superior to any restaurant we have ever visited in Italy. During our next trip we plan to learn some of their secrets by taking one of their cooking classes they offer at the house.

Staying in the small village of Belforte was ideal for us. A relaxing place that felt like it was there just for us….yet the nearby village of Radicondoli had everything we needed: restaurants, coffee bars, shops, groceries…etc.

We found Belforte to be a perfect region to launch from for our daily Tuscan excursions. There’s not much more I can about our stay other than “grazie di tutto” Leo and Alessandra for making this trip a memorable one…..an outstanding Tuscan vacation not soon forgotten.

FABULOUS TUSCAN VACATION

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderful weeks at Leo and Alessandra’s Holiday Home and would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the true Tuscan lifestyle. The house is authentic but with all the comforts of home; the hosts are delightful, hospitable and attentive. They made us feel right at home. The village of Belforte is quaint and the location is ideal for daily adventures to other Tuscan towns as well as being close to both Siena and Florence. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursions as well as the time spent in the house with a big roaring fire, bottle of wine, and beautiful sunsets. Magnifico!

Simply Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Alessandra and Leo for helping to make our birthday celebration week at your holiday home in beautiful Belforte so special and filled with warm memories. From the serenity of your scented and fruit filled garden surrounded by the hills of Tuscany to the comfort of your well appointed and spacious home, to your helpful and attentive ways, we could not have asked for a more indulgent experience. And the Sunday dinner that you prepared for our party and served under the stars was nothing short of spectacular.

We enjoyed our adventures each day to the local sheep farm for cheese and yogurt, as well as farms along the outlying agritourism route. Cheese, bread, olive oil, honey and wine never tasted so good! We also spent time bike riding in Lucca, climbing the hills and touring the towers of San Gimignano and being moved by the beauty and magnificence of il duomo in Sienna. But at the end of each day, we looked forward to the drive back through the countryside to the sleepy fortress town of Belforte with its two church bells, soft sounds of life in Italy and the comfort of our holiday home.

Mille grazie to you both!

“Casa di Leo” is situated in Belforte, a little village on the North of Siena and it is an Hamlet of Radicondoli. Radicondoli is a town of about 1300 inhabitants located in the northern part of the 'Metalliferous Hills' on the borders of the Alta Maremma between the Val d’Elsa and the Val de Cecina. It is about 40 km from Siena and similar distances from Volterra, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and Massa Marittim. The local economy is based mainly on forestry, sheep farming and employment in geothermal areas of the Val di Cecina where electricity is generated and boric acid is extracted. It is a lovely and peaceful area, but, at the same time, it lies close to the main world-famous cities of Tuscany, such as San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra, Firenze. The Tyrrhenian Sea is about 45 Km far from the house and so, it is around the corner. In Radicondoli it is possible to find two little supermarkets, a pharmacy, two restaurants (La Pergola and il Nazionale), a tobacconist’s, a theatre, an information point for tourists and everything you need! Sport facilities nearby Cycling, Hiking, Horse riding, Mountainbiking, Swimming, Tennis,
