A home away from home, our apartment is located in the heart of the left bank. We share it a few weeks a year with selected guests. It is a stylish, sunny, very comfortable and quiet modernized apartment in an old Paris building, on the top floor with a lift. We provide complimentary housekeeping service twice weekly. It is steps away from three subway lines and buses, in the heart of St-Germain/Montparnasse.
There are two bedrooms (queen bed in one, double bed in second), an open kitchen and dining room that is a dream for cooks and elegant cosy dining (seats 8), a spacious living room with electric fireplace, a romantic bathroom and separate WC. There is Wi-Fi and an excellent sound system. Ceiling fans in bedrooms and the living room keep the apartment fresh during the warm months. You will live among our books, music and art, like at home. All basic amenities are available on arrival, so no time will be taken from your holiday doing initial basic shopping.
Owners provide you with tourist information and guidance about the neighborhood. The price is all-inclusive. There are no hidden extras.
Apartment: Our apartment has oodles of charm. It is on the top floor of a 1900 building with dormer windows, is beautifully located at Metro St. Placide, two other subway lines and several bus lines. It has light and sun all day from exposures in every direction. It is very quiet. All of the infrastructure is up to date and highly functional.The living space is generous, the two rental bedrooms are smallish. One has a top-quality classic queen bed, and the second has an excellent quality double sofa bed with an additional thick mattress pad. The second bedroom has a recessed washbasin with a granite countertop. We have Wi-Fi, a superb sound system with speakers in living and dining room, and HD television. Bedrooms and the living room have ceiling fans and there is a decorative electric fireplace in the living room. The living room also has a desk. There is comfortable seating in the living and dining room for eight people. The kitchen is wonderful for anyone who likes to cook, with modern equipment including a washer and dryer. The bathroom has a designer tub for two that is also equipped with a rainforest shower. The toilet is separate.
Neighborhood: We are between St Germain and Montparnasse, the intellectual hearts of Paris. The apartment is steps from the rue de Rennes, fifteen minutes walk from the St. Germain church or the Sorbonne, five minutes from the Luxembourg gardens, and ten minutes from the St. Sulpice church. There is a market two blocks away (Raspail) on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday (the latter is organic) and another slightly further (Edgar Quinet) on Wednesday and Saturday. Downstairs are two small grocery stores that can meet all your needs, really. The Bon Marché, one of the best department stores in Paris, that also has a spectacular food store, is two blocks away. Montparnasse railroad station is within walking distance, or three bus stops away. Shopping for clothing, records, books is excellent in the neighborhood. Restaurants and cafés abound, several with live music.
The owners: We are two professionals retired from the UN. Our Paris apartment is our home; we have a house in Normandy a few hours away from Paris where we go during rental periods. Since renters are staying in our home, we want people who stay here to understand and agree to treat it as they would treat their own. In return, we do everything in our power to make sure you have our help to make your stay as agreeable as it can be.

We are retired from the United Nations, living part time in Paris and part time in our small country home two hours outside of Pars.

And, we found it, with great pleasure. We even found most of the shopping, if not on our 'doorstep', only a stone's throw away. The markets were also close by.
The apartment is all as described by the owner; cooking, washing, drying, house-keeping service, comfort, and good TV, music system are on hand. Excellent notes are provided and contact with the owner is most prompt, warm and helpful.
We particularly found the location excellent - situated between St. Germain and Montparnasse, quiet, safe, yet busy and not crowded with tourists. That which was not available on foot, was well connected to the rest of Paris by Metro (plural) and buses, again, only a step away."
This apartment is exactly as advertised - clean, homey, comfortable and more than large enough for the 3 of us - my husband, adult daughter and I. It was extremely quiet for an apartment in a large city. After a few days, we felt like it was our own place, happy to come back to it at the end of a day. The apartment is equipped with all the best appliances and having housekeeping twice a week was an added bonus.

All the reviews you read on this apartment are true - great and safe location, easy access to everywhere having 2 metro lines and lots of buses just a few meters away;
perfect shops just right next door - patisserie, sandwich shop, fruit stand and small grocery to get you started. For more variety of food shopping the apartment is only a few blocks away from the Bon Marche or the outdoor markets.
Staying two weeks in Paris at this lovely apartment made our trip even more enjoyable. I would rent this apartment again in a heartbeat.
We are an American couple who traveled to Paris from London via the high speed train to celebrate out 25th Wedding anniversary. Our stay was a week from July 28th to Aug. 4 2014 & our 16 year old son accompanied us. The owner of this flat was outstanding to work with & a gracious hostess. Everything was awesome. *10 minutes from everything-next to Jardin de Luxembourg, Great restaurant-Restaurant du Luxembourg-Raspail open air market 5 minutes away-Tues, Fri, Sun., & Bon Marche 5 minutes away. Great kitchen-large & spacious-my wife loved the Nespresso coffee machine! Great 8 seat dining table just off the ktichen. Easy Metro access at the Notre-Dame des Champs. Beds were very comfortable. Great flat for two couples or 2-4 people. Ten minutes to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, & Ile de la Cite!!We would stay here again.
We always stay in this area of Paris because we love it and when we found this apartment it met all our criteria. On arrival we weren't disappointed. It was fabulous! As apartments go in Paris, this one is huge! It was also light, sunny and full of character. We would definately stay here again.
This was a wonderful apartment. We loved the location, as it was just a few steps from the Metro station. The building was very well maintained. The apartment itself was in great condition, with everything one needs (although the lack of air conditioning was noted during a few hot Paris summer days). The place felt much like home to us during the stay. The updated appliances and infrastructure mixed very well with the old-world charm of the place. The staff (concierge and housekeeper) was professional and easy to communicate to - a big plus.
We found this home to be completely "as advertised". It is very clean, extremely
well furnished and is in a great location. There are deli's within a block and a
great bakery right next door. The subway is less than a block away, and buses
seem to go on every street. Alexandra, the owner, is extremely helpful. She provided us with a list of restaurants and much needed information for "first timers"
in Paris. The doctor contact info was nice, as, unfortunately we needed a doctor.
The doctor arrived in one hour! We ate at a recommended restaurant and liked it
very much. I would recommend this home without reservation. We look forward
to a return trip in the future.
It was a real privilege to stay in Alexandra and Zaghloul's apartment and live like authentic Parisians rather than as tourists. Despite its central location it was a very quiet, restful base from which to sample life in this amazing city. We met the conscientious cleaner who ensures guests are comfortable and also met our welcoming hosts who had thoughtfully provided so comprehensively for our needs. The apartment was exactly as described and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We sampled some of the restaurants recommended by Alexandra and were not disappointed. We also found a particularly non-pretentious but perfectly acceptable restaurant (Le Bistrot St Germain) at 17 Rue de Gregoire de Tours (off the Boulevard St Germain, near the St Germain Metro station). We look forward to a return visit!
Our apartment is on the top (sixth) floor of a 1900 building with a lift. It is located in the heart of historic Paris, next to the Luxembourg Gardens, in a quiet street just next to the rue de Rennes, which is a major shopping avenue. The neighborhood is full of food shops, open-air markets, elegant and off-label clothes shopping, restaurants and bars. The best department store and food hall on the Left Bank, the famous Bon Marché, is two blocks away.
On foot or by public transportation one can easily reach key museums (Louvre, Musee d'Orsay), monuments (Pantheon, Invalides, Notre Dame, Eiffel tower), restaurants (advice available), cinemas, and entertainment of all kinds. Three subway lines and multiple bus lines are very close.
