We had the pleasure of spending a weekend in "River City Flats" with some out of town friends. It was very recently remodeled and the owner indicated that we were the first guests since the remodel. This is a very nice 2-level town home - the kitchen and living areas (and a half-bath) are on the main level and the 2 bedrooms and full bath are downstairs.
The kitchen is well stocked (I've never seen such an extensive set of knives in any place we've stayed!). There is a nice coffee maker, smallish refrigerator, stove and beautiful granite countertops. (Owner doesn't supply coffee, so you'll need to bring your own.) No worries, if you forget something, there are plenty of grocery stores nearby! Off the kitchen is a nice balcony where my wife and I enjoyed coffee while the sun came up.
We live in Austin – and Travis Heights is probably our favorite ‘hood. It’s eclectic, eccentric, with so much to do. South Congress (SoCo) is an easy walk away – with all the great local stores and restaurants. Just one mile further north is the famous 6th street area with all the live music that makes Austin famous! If walking a mile isn’t your thing, there are plenty of cabs and buses.
Bottom line – if you are looking for a place to stay and you want to be in a quiet area that’s close to the action in Austin, then you won’t go wrong staying here!
