Welcome to Adobe View!

We hope if you are planning a trip to beautiful Moab, Utah that we can be part of your accommodation plans. This site is designed to help you understand what to expect at Adobe View & hopefully answer any questions you might have about the property & to provide you with contact & reservation information.

First of all, as the name implies, Adobe View was designed to take advantage of the unique topography of the Moab Valley. The property is situated in a beautiful part of the Colorado River Canyon in Old Town Moab. The La Sal mountains, snow-capped most of the year, are beautifully visible in the south part of the views. Arches National Park is visible on the north & the entire Moab Valley stretches out before you, allowing you to see the incredible green Oasis against the stark red rock desert. Adobe View has an unobstructed 25 mile view, which includes gorgeous views of the Moab Rim, the Portal & the surrounding canyon. Adobe View is uniquely situated in Old Town Moab & yet still has incredible panoramic views.

Adobe View is only 4 blocks from the Restaurant/Shopping/Downtown areas, an easy & enjoyable bike ride or walk, a very special & rare location. Because the extensive wrap around porches face many different angles, there is always the option to have sun or shade. Not only do the porches offer stunning panoramic views, but they also provide multiple outside sitting areas for dinning, entertaining or just enjoying quiet time. After a day's activity, recline in the hammock, read your favorite book or just stare out at the blue desert sky.

Adobe View has a 300 ft. private drive, which provides for 10-12 off-street, private parking spaces for cars or Jeeps & 2 RV'S spaces. There is a fully enclosed 2 car garage, 2 covered car ports & plenty of room for boats, motorcycles or bicycles.

The house comfortably sleeps 6, a King Bed Master Suite, a Queen Bed guest room, & another room with 2 bunk beds. All bedrooms have 'en suite' private baths, except for the bunk bedroom which 'shares' the bathroom with the 2nd floor living room/dining room. The Master Suite & Guest Room have their own French doors opening onto the wrap around porches.

The Master Suite & Guest Room have jetted tubs, & custom tile work & sinks. The jetted tub in the Master Suite is a 2 person larger tub with views of the La Sal mountains as you sit & soak.

Each floor has its own laundry, one in the Master Suite on the 3rd floor & the other is on the 2nd floor to provide ease & convenience.

The Master Suite also has walk-in 'His & Hers' closets, while the other bedrooms have full in room closets.

There are 2 living rooms, one on the 2nd floor with an open floor plan featuring the kitchen & dinning room. The other living room(The Great Room) is on the 3rd floor & has a 42' flat screen TV & of course WiFi is free. All the furnishings recline to provide a relaxing in home theater. The interiors are distinctively Western with a flair for the 4 corners motif. The house attempts to 'marry' the outside custom stone work & rough sawn timbers with the interior Santa Fe designs, creating a rustic elegance of log, wood & stone.

Beautiful American Cherry Hardwood floors are throughout the house.

The kitchen features custom 'Blue Bay' granite counter tops, custom 'Blue Pine' cabinets & a fascinating custom one of a kind trapezoid stone sink. There is also a 'faux' old fashioned stove & oven, which looks like an old wood burning stove of yesteryear, but is really a modern stove & oven in disguise. The kitchen otherwise is fully equipped with a microwave & all other appliances including service for eight.

There are many other charming 'touches' & thoughtful details designed to make your stay enjoyable & memorable.

Even though there are neighbors in the general vicinity, Adobe View, because of its unique topography, offers a very quiet & private situation. It sits on its own little shelf, on the hill, giving you the feeling of being in your own private Tree House. All the French doors open to a refreshing & abundant breeze, & natural light floods into each room.

Adobe View is a perfect Honeymoon destination, romantic & special. It also could serve as a great family retreat, executive meeting spot or just a great place to stay. Whatever your needs are, we would be honored to be part of your plans & our staff will go the extra mile to make sure your stay in the  Canyonlands is relaxing & amazing & that your every need is met.

About Phillip Crumbley

How We Discovered Moab

Over the years many people have asked Tina & myself why or how we came to Moab. The story begins in Key West, Fl, where we are from, & where we still call home. In the early 1980's, we were still children of the 1960's & 1970's & had a old 1968 Volkswagen van that was our home & vehicle to adventure. We had heard many stories of the West & dreamed of exploring places like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park & more.

Being young & idealistic musicians, we sought new frontiers, going from town to town seeking our

own version of Shangra La. We visited hot springs, camped In the mountains, hiked the canyons & drove the desert roads. As one might expect, extended trips tend to take a toll on old Volkswagens, & so it came to pass that one day we found ourselves in need of some pretty hard to find parts. Now remember, this is before the Internet, & vintage parts were somewhat difficult to find. However, where there's a will, there's a way, I just kept asking everyone we met in our travels if they knew of a place where such hard to find parts would be available, & finally one lucky day a gentleman that we just happen to meet in our travels,( probably another fellow Volkswagen enthusiast), told me of the Holy Grail of Volkswagen parts, some place called Tom Tom's in an equally strange place called Moab, UT.

So off we went, little did we know what we would find, since neither of us had ever been to the Great State of Utah, much less to a place called Moab.

We appreciate Moab as often as we can & are thankful for all the good & kind people we have met & known over the years.

Phillip's place was awesome. The outdoor space and the quality of the interiors were wonderful. Great place to cook indoors or out. We went to Moab for the mountain biking experience. Moab and this house more than lived up to the dream. I will definitely return for both. House is perfectly located so you can walk or bike into town to be in the middle of it all or stay home and feel secluded.
This house has the look when you drive up to it of "wow!"
Phillip and Cathy (local coordinator) were very accommodating.

Best VRBO ever!

The listing info was perfect, the house is brand new, finished in early 2013. Very well maintained. Phillip owner of house very clear, and prompt with communication. Plus super accommodating. We chose this property due to: location in town of Moab, 4 bath rooms. Our group wanted a place to get together and allow for conversations, morning, noon and night. We had group of seven adults and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay. The price for this property was a better value than four separate hotel rooms. There are 2 decks: 1 off main floor & 2nd off master bed room. Both decks face south and west to enjoy sunshine and sunset. Lower deck also faces East, we had lovely breakfast on the deck enjoying the sunshine over the La Sal Mountains. The interior is very well furnished and decorated. Beautiful combination of wood, stone and iron. Ceiling fans, plus windows all around allowed for plenty of outside air, that we Minnesotan's have missed over the winter months. We have already recommended this property to family and friends!

We did lots of hiking and exploring the area. Arches is a must see, sign up for the Arches National Park "Fiery Furnace" tour EARLY. Space is limited to 25 people and it books up fast.

Canyonlands Mesa Arch, Upheaval dome and Grandview were spectacular.

Dead Horse Point State Park was well worth the $10 daily entry fee. We watched a sunset, with beverages, cheese and crackers. Unbelievable vista.
We also went out early and watched a sunrise at Dead Horse, get there early to look at the stars. Have not been out far enough from any light sources in years to see the stars....amazing!

We signed up for a Rappelling Adventure and all seven of us DID IT! Super Safe and FUN! Tour guides Jerome and Joe from Adventure Moab made the repel and the hike out of Negro Bill's canyon memorable. It was well worth the $99 each. The guided hike out of the canyon , crossing the creek 9 times was really cool.

Breakfasts: cooked at home three times: eggs, Franks hot sauce, potatoes, toast > all necessary cookware provided. Try break burrito or panini at "Love Muffin" coffee shop.

Dinner: cooked on new gas grill watched sunset twice, also used the coolest fire pit ever!
Blue Pig best BBQ, Broken Oar Restaurant best Cobb Salad EVER! Moab Brewery couple times for bears and app's.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, we made memories that will last a life time. You will not be disappointed in this property!
