About Marc

Growing up in New York, then living to Northern California, I moved to Tarpon Springs 12 years ago to settle down and start a family. My wife and our 3 girls ages 5, 7 and 14 love this amazing Florida weather and lifestyle.

Marc purchased this house in 2001

Why Marc chose Tarpon Springs

Our Key West style home has been remodeled from the metal roof all the way down to the 20' porcelain floors. The granite counters, maple cabinets, stainless steel appliances, wine frig, and huge Jacuzzi tub in master bath (to name a few) all enhance your stay.

Wonderful vacation

  • 4 of 5
The owner recently asked us to review our second stay here. We vacationed here a little over a year ago the first time and enjoyed it so much we stayed again . Yes, Florida does have much more bugs than we are used to in Ohio but we never saw any in this home while we were there. The owner and his wife personally brought us a wine opener and towels. (The old opener was broken and housekeeping forgot to leave the towels). They brought it in a basket and even included a bottle of wine!

We love visiting Tarpon Springs area for the food, beaches and warm weather and we will stay here again.

Pretty home and view but comes with issues..

  • 2 of 5
I will start off by saying the house is beautiful and located in a great neighborhood. The pool would have been a plus if the birds in the area from the water didn't use it to bathe in and poop on the hot tub area constantly. We were cleaning feathers out non-stop. The air conditioning is set so if your comfort level is below what they have it locked to stop on you just got to suck it up. There was an issue with trying to figure out what light switches went to what but not a big deal you get used to that. This is definitely not a vacation home for elderly. There are two flights of (narrow stairs) to get to the front door. There are two flights of stairs to get to the master bedroom and two flights of narrow/spiral staircase to get to the pool off the back deck. Some of the issues with this vacation spot have nothing to do with the owner and some of them well I will let you make your decision.

After seven pm EVERY night a strong sulfur stench begins to make itself present from the water and tide directly behind the house, so if you plan to swim in the evening to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunset or early breakfast (FORGET ABOUT IT) unless you have nose plugs.

We bought groceries to save money by cooking in the (beautiful kitchen) only to find out what we nicknamed (spants) cause we had never seen them before pretty much completely rule the counter tops. Lo and behold I video taped these little cob spiders and sent a picture text to the owner who seemed irritated I was (bugging him on his family vacation) cause Lord knows....that's not what we were trying to do right? I'm not one to complain but that sort of ticked me off and I was polite about the whole thing and he was just rude about it. These things in Florida known as "cobb spiders" can be controlled but only if sprayed and treated properly. The bug spray we used was not working and we had to throw out some of our food. (The owner Marc didn't offer any kind of refund or anything and actually at one point hinted that *we brought them into the house*) I never even seen these things before and not to mention they were all over outside in the driveway too after inspecting further.

The master bathroom has a bubble tub/ the window if you are in the shower does not have a curtain so if someone had some binoculars in one of the houses across the street they might feel the need to eye spy on the vacationers...
Stay at your own risk and expense....

Owner's Response: I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS BOGUS REVIEW. THESE PEOPLE TRIED TO CANCEL 1 WEEK BEFORE THEIR STAY CLAIMING THAT THEY HEARD FLORIDA WAS RUNNING RAMPANT WITH EBOLLA. THEIR RETALIATION WAS IMAGINARY BUGS. I HAD KNIGHTS PEST CONTROL SERVICE THIS HOME AND NOT A SINGLE BUG WAS FOUND. PLEASE DISREGARD THIS LIE. IT IS TRUE, YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE ALL THE TIME. BUT, OUTRIGHT LIES ARE BAD KARMA. THANK YOU.

Beautiful home, Amazing location

  • 5 of 5
We were shocked how much more beautiful this home was than its pictures showed. We had views of the water everywhere in the house. Dolphins were by the dock almost every day. We had an issue with not being able to get the internet working, but the owner came out and fixed it that day.

I cannot convey how much we recommend this home!

Views 5 star, house 1

All adult family of four stayed 05/17-05/25/2014. We arrived evening of Saturday the 17th of May. The house looked just like the pictures provided. The only info was a white board with trash, towel, end of stay instructions. This house has many wall switches with no labels, many seem to not turn on anything, most of the lighting kitchen, bedrooms, island only had 1 or 2 functioning lights with no mention of where the extra bulbs are. The main light to walk up to the master bedroom is hanging on the landing after the 1st flight of steps this was burned out too. After we turned on some lights, we started to unpack some of the grocery items. I opened the slide cupboard only the have the large palmetto bug run out. We got that one, the not an hour later my husband was at the kitchen sink and another one ran up his leg. The only appliances that worked fully were the microwave, toaster oven, and the washer and dryer. Buy your own ice you'll need it. The "plasma" TV would go off by itself after an hour of watching it, you would have to shut is off wait about 3-5 mins before it would turn back on. My son actually fixed the pool filter pump, after working on it for about 3 hrs. found out from the pool people there is a leak in a pipe the owner was previously told about. The water level of pool is slowly draining so they fill it up with a hose, if not is causes the skimmer door to stick shut, causing an air bubble and the pump shuts down. Be prepared to wash your own dishes, the dishwasher need repair. We were told there are extra towels in the downstairs/poolside room, the cabinet was locked. We attempted to contact the owner, his response about the bugs was: "that's Florida living", bull we have been renting vacation homes and condos for the past 14 years and only saw a palmetto (roach) once and it was outside on a deck, not in the kitchen! Bring your own clocks there are none in the bedrooms,or on any wall. Make sure you have a cell phone, no phones. You'll also need to wash bath towels since the others are locked away.
Other than the non responsive landlord, and non-functioning correctly appliances, in the house palmettos, the views, and dock are nice. The sponge docks and restaurants about 4 miles away very greek very cool. Fred Howard Park also about 3 miles via car cute very sea grassy this year. After the initial stress of the lack of attention to the home, we were able to relax and enjoy Tarpon Springs. Needs work and updating.

Owner's Response: Who has a land line phone at home? Kitchen was COMPLETELY remodeled in 2009/2010. This is a vacation home, who wants an alarm clock? The extra towels were UNUSED and in the closet where he was told. Never used them. Pools in Florida without ugly screen rooms and no rain require water to fill weekly when there is no rain. Hence, the pool service putting the garden hose in the pool to add water.
Please, my advise to you VRBO home owners. DON'T RENT TO THEM!!!

Beautiful spot

  • 5 of 5
Staying at this house was great. The owner was very responsive in terms of helping us while we were there. The location on the water is fantastic. Pool and spa were very nice. Downtown Tarpon Springs, groceries and the beach are not a walkable distance, but are a short drive (there's really nothing you can walk to). We enjoyed watching all the fishing boats pull up and try their luck - never saw anyone catch anything, but there must be fish in there somewhere... Neighbors are friendly. If you are bringing your own boat note that when the tide goes out you'll be pretty much high and dry at the dock. If you are not good with stairs you will want to look for a house that's not on stilts like this one is. We loved this house and hope to stay again someday.

The property was clean and well-maintained, The photos do show the property well. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. There were plenty of dining establishment, and local sites to see within a short drive.
