This charming 2br/2ba nestles into the side of beautiful rich mountain with views across the french broad valley to cedar rock and the blue ridge parkway mountains. In a private setting it sits approx 1000' above the town of Brevard but only about 10 mins to the town center, restaurants, shops, and the Brevard music center. The kitchen, dining and sitting areas open onto a covered porch where you can sit and delight in the lovely mountain and valley views as well as the colorful sunrises/sunsets. The relaxing open living area has a vaulted ceiling, with a gas burning stove to warm up those chilly evenings. The master BR with attached BA (tub/shower) also opens onto the porch and the views can be enjoyed from the comfortable king bed. Downstairs there is a second BR with twins, a full bath with roomy shower, and a sitting/TV area with a comfortable futon (extra foldout child's bed is available). The sitting area opens onto its own patio. The cabin is fully equipped and has high speed wifi internet, satellite TV, a/c, and central heat.
You are close to Dupont state forest with its hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding and spectacular waterfalls, plus you can enter Dupont from a quiet back trail, just over the mountain. The entrance to Pisgah forest with its magnificent trees, innumerable trails and streams, and more mountain biking is about a 15 min drive. You are 1 hour from downtown Asheville (less to Biltmore) and 30 minutes to historic Hendersonville.
Abundant fishing streams, including the renowned Davidson river, are minutes away. The area is a dream come true for the fly-fisherman, the hiker, and the mountain biker. For canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts, rentals and access onto the calmer waters of the french broad river are just down the mountain. Whitewater rafting is in the smoky mountains and north of Asheville. All kinds of music can be readily enjoyed close by. The forest flora is amazingly diverse. Deer and turkey are often seen nearby.
