|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Nineteenth century elegance and charm that includes:
- original patterned oak floors with many beautiful oriental carpets
- French windows with three balconies overlooking an extraordinary vista of the city; the sunsets are worthy of an Impressionist painting.
-The apartment is on the sixth floor (elevator to fifth and then one easy flight up).
-There is a cozy living area perfect for entertaining, with a large dining room table, sofa, chairs, and an office/desk alcove, plus a separate fully equipped kitchen area. The bathroom has a step in shower but no tub. The bedroom sleeps two - and the living room has a comfortable sofa-bed that opens into a queen bed (if the guests are not interested in sharing the same bed, quite unusual in France...:}
The apartment is located in the Marais, the wonderful, historic 3rd arrondissment, just blocks from the Pompidou Center and easy walks to Notre Dame, Picasso museum, Carnavalet museum and the Louvre. We are also very close to two different metro (subway) lines. The nearest stops are Hotel de Ville and Rambuteau, making negotiating Paris very, very simple.
And, we offer full concierge service! Your personal concierge handles your housekeeping, meet-and-greet service, and available during your entire stay should you need anything, including translations, reservations, tours etc. For an additional fee, they can also arrange for a private chaffeur to pick you up at the airport. (90e/2 guests/each way).
So, why do i love this apartment?
The location: it is literally perched up above Paris. You will have no doubt you are in the city of light as the sun sets over the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur church. Three small balconies open onto an unparalleled vista of this city that will take your breath away.
It is very comfortable, and immaculately maintained.
It is perfect for two guests - romantic and ideally located.
It is perfectly situated to enjoy Paris and a real Parisian neighborhood.
We must have gone through a couple of hundred apartments here on this site and others, just to find something - perfect. However, we kept coming back to this listing. The photos screamed 'Paris', and the addition of a concierge service was a huge plus.
Let me tell you, the photos are spot-on - it's a beautiful jewel box of an apartment. It's in a perfect spot in a perfect neighborhood, the Marais. There are so many things within walking distance - Ile St. Louis, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and many, many wonderful restaurants. But the apartment itself is the star attraction. As is usual for Paris apartments, it's small, but it feels quite spacious, due to a small curtain wall separating the bedroom from the living room/dining room. Light floods the apartment from three sets of French doors, each with a tiny Juliette balcony. And the view - well, you can see a great deal of the Marais, but the star attractions are the Pompidou Center, just one block away, Sacre Cœur, up on its hill, and the Eiffel Tower. At sunset, Sacre Cœur is bathed in beautiful colors, and at night, you have a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower, which sparkles with thousands of lights once every hour. There were days where we would just walk in after hours of walking and exploring, and fix ourselves cups of tea, with loads of pastries and just sit and read, with the French doors open.
The living room is very, very comfortable and the dining table is huge - you can definitely entertain friends at the apartment. Although the kitchen is very small, it has everything you need to either cook or just prep coffee, open wine (pour wine), heat up food, etc. They have everything - utensils, plates, mugs, glassware and more. There is a small bathroom with a washer/dryer - useful if you're outstaying your clothing; the shower is really tiny, and you should get instructions on how the controls work (you set the temp once, and after that, all you have to do is set the water pressure). There is a separate water closet with one toilet and a sink, which I really like - someone who needs to use the shower isn't holding up someone else who needs to use the toilet, and vice versa.
There are very detailed instructions upon arrival, and a great guide to local restaurants and more. And our concierge was fantastic - what a help! Hints: visit Pain du Sucre (the savory pie store and the pastry store), around the corner, and don't miss Huré for more patisseries. LOVE this place - will stay here again.
We had the opportunity of travelling across Europe for a month with a ten day stay in Paris. We booked rue de Temple based on the reviews and photo's and stayed here for 6 nights, but wish we had of stayed here the whole time. It was one of the highlights. The picutres are as it is, the ambiance is wonderful, and so romantic for just my husband and I. The Eiffel Tower is even closer than in the photos and every hour in the evening the lights twinkle, it was an amazing experience. You feel like you are living like a local but in a first class apartment. I'm attaching a photo of the staircase that takes you to the door, it is beautiful. While the apartment is not cheap, we thought it was worth every cent. We stayed at the Westin Vendome for the next four nights, which was lovely, but my heart was still in this apartment. Would highly recommend!!!! We got some great pictures squeezing into the tiny elevator which was part of the experience. We also took advantage of the limo service from the airport, which to us was a must, we would have never found the place on our own. The service was a concierge extra and Victor Limos was excellent as a personal pick-up from the airport and drop off at the door, he gave us a great evening tour of the city which really help us scope out the city of Paris as we had never been before. All in all a wonderful Paris experience! Book it!!!!
This aerie in the Marais used to be what was called a "chambre du bonn." Many years ago when the buildings were built, the servants lived at the top (that's why there is no elevator all the way up.) I have been told that the balconies were added when these spaces were converted. But with or without the balcony, the servants had the best possible views, as we did on our dandy week in Paris recently. The weather was perfect allowing us to have the balcony doors open and we wouldn't have thought of closing the drapes. Grab the window side of the bed and you can go to sleep with the Eiffel Tower winking at you. We considered the price point something of a splurge, but it was money well spent. We saved enough on eating in, that we are probably money ahead. The kitchen is perfectly appointed for easy preparation of all the lovely fresh foods at nearby markets. One does need to decide, however, whether to pair the meal with a bold and robust 1163 Notre Dame or younger and lighter 1873 Sacre Coeur!
We had a wonderful stay in this stunning apartment. It met and exceeded all our expectations -- the photos and descriptions are 100% accurate, though the view is better than the photos can really convey. The apartment was clean, the owner and concierge v helpful, and everything was provided that we could think of. But beyond all that, this apartment has a magic about it which really makes it special. Highly recommended!
We just returned from a wonderful four day stay at the HUGO apartment on Rue de Temple. Location was amazing - especially if you want to have easy access to most of the sites. Rambuteau metro stop within several blocks, and an easy 10 min. walk to Hotel de Ville, where many of the metro lines and bus lines converge. We ended up taking the bus a lot because it is so wonderful to just sit and have a view of the city as you travel.
The area has tons of restaurants/cafes - some touristy (it's 2 blocks from Centre Pompidou), and others not. If you head away from Pompidou, things are more "local". Head a little deeper into the Marais for some fun shopping. Grocery store (Monoprix) just around the corner, and bank machines as well.
Despite being in the midst of so much, the apartment is on a quiet street, and we heard almost no street noise. The view is absolutely EXQUISITE, with Pompidou in the foreground and the top of the Eiffel Tower being (which you can see lit up at night). Montmartre is in full view in the other direction. And the quintessential view of the Parisian rooftops is incredible!
The apartment is tiny, but perfect for two on vacation. The owners have set up things to be very user friendly - internet access, free calls from apartment phone home to US, A/C, elevator in building, Washer/Dryer, tons of guide books. And the decor was lovely - good quality furniture/bedding with lovely paintings etc. Great taste!
Our concierge was very helpful, and truly available 24/7. He gave us some good advice on local places to go for great food. It's very easy to get caught at a touristy streetside cafe and overpay for very mediocre food in Paris, so his advice was great to have. I really think he would be able to help with anything, and is willing to call and make reservations for you if you prefer him to do the translating.
We would definitely recommend this apartment (and company) to others, and stay there again ourselves, next time we are in Paris!
This apartment, beautifully located in the Marais, is the perfect place to stay for anyone wanting to experience Paris at its best. It has all the advantages of having your own Paris apartment, without any of the responsibilities.
Decorated with exquisite taste, the apartment is beautifully fitted out and wonderfully comfortable. It offers all the amenities we need during our visits, and has amazing views across the rooftops of Paris past the Pompidou Centre to the Eiffel Tower in one direction, and Sacre Coeur in the other. The lights of Paris in the evening are just spectacular. We particularly like staying in a beautiful apartment in a convenient and central area of Paris which remains heavily occupied by Parisians, rather than just tourists.
The location is both convenient and interesting, offering so much to see and do within easy walking distance - Notre Dame, I'le de St Louis, Place des Voges, the Marais' galleries, restaurants and clothing shops, etc, and just around the corner, superb little food shops offering the best baguettes, exquisite patisseries, charcuteries, and a little supermarket - ideal when we feel like staying in for a meal after an exhausting day of exploring.
At times like these, we have really appreciated the in house shelves of very readable novels and good DVDs. The impressive collection of Parisian guide books is also very useful, as is the information folder for visitors that not only contains all the basic "need to know" information, but is full of local hidden secrets that have been tried and tested by the owners and now many of their guests - favourite restaurants, patisseries, places to shop, sights to see and things to do. The many excellent recommendations continue to remind us that there is always much of Paris still to discover on our next visit.
This delightful apartment has become our Paris home away from home.

You are in the historic and beautiful 'Marais' - the third arrondissment, filled with shops, cafes, restaurants and easy walking to almost all of Paris's major tourist attractions, just blocks away from the famous Pompidou museum. Its a great location.
