Overview

3rd Arrondissement Le Marais Apartment Rental Photos and Description

One Bedroom Marais Rooftop With Spectacular Views Of the city

Nineteenth century elegance and charm that includes:

- original patterned oak floors with many beautiful oriental carpets

- French windows with three balconies overlooking an extraordinary vista of the city; the sunsets are worthy of an Impressionist painting.

-The apartment is on the sixth floor (elevator to fifth and then one easy flight up).

-There is a cozy living area perfect for entertaining, with a large dining room table, sofa, chairs, and an office/desk alcove, plus a separate fully equipped kitchen area. The bathroom has a step in shower but no tub. The bedroom sleeps two - and the living room has a comfortable sofa-bed that opens into a queen bed (if the guests are not interested in sharing the same bed, quite unusual in France...:}

The apartment is located in the Marais, the wonderful, historic 3rd arrondissment, just blocks from the Pompidou Center and easy walks to Notre Dame, Picasso museum, Carnavalet museum and the Louvre. We are also very close to two different metro (subway) lines. The nearest stops are Hotel de Ville and Rambuteau, making negotiating Paris very, very simple.

And, we offer full concierge service! Your personal concierge handles your housekeeping, meet-and-greet service, and available during your entire stay should you need anything, including translations, reservations, tours etc. For an additional fee, they can also arrange for a private chaffeur to pick you up at the airport. (90e/2 guests/each way).

So, why do i love this apartment?

The location: it is literally perched up above Paris. You will have no doubt you are in the city of light as the sun sets over the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur church. Three small balconies open onto an unparalleled vista of this city that will take your breath away.

It is very comfortable, and immaculately maintained.

It is perfect for two guests - romantic and ideally located.

It is perfectly situated to enjoy Paris and a real Parisian neighborhood.

True Paris Experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was the most perfect place to stay in Paris. When we first saw it online, it reminded us of an Audrey Hepburn movie. It met all of our expectations in location, manager and comfort! An apartment is the way to go for this vacation, we felt like we belonged!! The one flight of stairs after the elevator was no problem. Stay at this place and enjoy the ambiance of Hugo!!!!!

Charming with View, A/C, Elevator

  • 4 of 5

VIEW: 3 sets of dormer windows open to a spectacular western view of Marais rooftops, Sacre Coeur, and the top of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Lovely at night when Sacre Coeur and the Eiffel Tower are lit up.

CONCIERGE: A big plus: the apartment comes with a concierge available by phone 24/7. Speaks French and English. Knowledgeable and helpful about nearby restaurants, working the appliances, WiFi, etc.

LOCATION: Amid Marais cafes, museums, markets, and shopping. The Rambuteau Metro is a 5-minute walk.

DECOR: Small apt. tastefully furnished with Oriental rugs, antiques, paintings. Bed, sofa, & dining chairs are comfortable. Well stocked small kitchen - great for breakfast. Good modern appliances.

TAXI SERVICE: Highly recommend the optional taxi service from CVG. The Concierge can make arrangements for you before you arrive with the high-quality car service they use. Fee is fixed, and you pay the driver directly. We used to be proud of taking the RER from CDG and dragging our luggage 30+ blocks on crowded sidewalks to wherever we were staying in Paris. Many trips later, we're done with that.

CAVEAT: Like nearly all of Paris, this apt. is not for the infirm. Should the elevator go out of commission (it was out one weekend during our 10-night stay), the apt is a 6-flight climb, each flight 21 steps. For us not a big deal - helped burn off baguettes.

Exceptional jewel in the Marais

  • 5 of 5

We must have gone through a couple of hundred apartments here on this site and others, just to find something - perfect. However, we kept coming back to this listing. The photos screamed 'Paris', and the addition of a concierge service was a huge plus.

Let me tell you, the photos are spot-on - it's a beautiful jewel box of an apartment. It's in a perfect spot in a perfect neighborhood, the Marais. There are so many things within walking distance - Ile St. Louis, Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and many, many wonderful restaurants. But the apartment itself is the star attraction. As is usual for Paris apartments, it's small, but it feels quite spacious, due to a small curtain wall separating the bedroom from the living room/dining room. Light floods the apartment from three sets of French doors, each with a tiny Juliette balcony. And the view - well, you can see a great deal of the Marais, but the star attractions are the Pompidou Center, just one block away, Sacre Cœur, up on its hill, and the Eiffel Tower. At sunset, Sacre Cœur is bathed in beautiful colors, and at night, you have a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower, which sparkles with thousands of lights once every hour. There were days where we would just walk in after hours of walking and exploring, and fix ourselves cups of tea, with loads of pastries and just sit and read, with the French doors open.

The living room is very, very comfortable and the dining table is huge - you can definitely entertain friends at the apartment. Although the kitchen is very small, it has everything you need to either cook or just prep coffee, open wine (pour wine), heat up food, etc. They have everything - utensils, plates, mugs, glassware and more. There is a small bathroom with a washer/dryer - useful if you're outstaying your clothing; the shower is really tiny, and you should get instructions on how the controls work (you set the temp once, and after that, all you have to do is set the water pressure). There is a separate water closet with one toilet and a sink, which I really like - someone who needs to use the shower isn't holding up someone else who needs to use the toilet, and vice versa.

There are very detailed instructions upon arrival, and a great guide to local restaurants and more. And our concierge was fantastic - what a help! Hints: visit Pain du Sucre (the savory pie store and the pastry store), around the corner, and don't miss Huré for more patisseries. LOVE this place - will stay here again.

Paris in January - amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the opportunity of travelling across Europe for a month with a ten day stay in Paris. We booked rue de Temple based on the reviews and photo's and stayed here for 6 nights, but wish we had of stayed here the whole time. It was one of the highlights. The picutres are as it is, the ambiance is wonderful, and so romantic for just my husband and I. The Eiffel Tower is even closer than in the photos and every hour in the evening the lights twinkle, it was an amazing experience. You feel like you are living like a local but in a first class apartment. I'm attaching a photo of the staircase that takes you to the door, it is beautiful. While the apartment is not cheap, we thought it was worth every cent. We stayed at the Westin Vendome for the next four nights, which was lovely, but my heart was still in this apartment. Would highly recommend!!!! We got some great pictures squeezing into the tiny elevator which was part of the experience. We also took advantage of the limo service from the airport, which to us was a must, we would have never found the place on our own. The service was a concierge extra and Victor Limos was excellent as a personal pick-up from the airport and drop off at the door, he gave us a great evening tour of the city which really help us scope out the city of Paris as we had never been before. All in all a wonderful Paris experience! Book it!!!!

Servants Quarters!!!????

  • 5 of 5

This aerie in the Marais used to be what was called a "chambre du bonn." Many years ago when the buildings were built, the servants lived at the top (that's why there is no elevator all the way up.) I have been told that the balconies were added when these spaces were converted. But with or without the balcony, the servants had the best possible views, as we did on our dandy week in Paris recently. The weather was perfect allowing us to have the balcony doors open and we wouldn't have thought of closing the drapes. Grab the window side of the bed and you can go to sleep with the Eiffel Tower winking at you. We considered the price point something of a splurge, but it was money well spent. We saved enough on eating in, that we are probably money ahead. The kitchen is perfectly appointed for easy preparation of all the lovely fresh foods at nearby markets. One does need to decide, however, whether to pair the meal with a bold and robust 1163 Notre Dame or younger and lighter 1873 Sacre Coeur!

Perfect Rooftop Hideout in the Heart of Paris

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this stunning apartment. It met and exceeded all our expectations -- the photos and descriptions are 100% accurate, though the view is better than the photos can really convey. The apartment was clean, the owner and concierge v helpful, and everything was provided that we could think of. But beyond all that, this apartment has a magic about it which really makes it special. Highly recommended!
