Awaken to transcendent sunrises over the Puget Sound and Mount Baker. Sip your coffee by the stone fireplace or on the private deck and breathe in wooded sea air; you've found paradise on Lummi Island.
This cozy studio cabin boasts original woodwork, a state-of-the-art kitchen, private bath and stone gas fireplace. Tuck away your car keys - with easy walking distance from the ferry dock and the Beach Store Cafe, and with bikes available for your use during your stay, the slow island life comes to you.
You may find yourself enchanted by visiting wildlife frequently seen on Lummi Island including seagulls, herons, kingfishers, eagles, seals, otter, and deer.
Low tide invites beach combing and shell collecting, as well as interraction with crab, clams and tidepool creatures along the way.
Hiking trails and nature preserves are also plentiful on the Island. Come, your island escape awaits!
What a beautiful spot. The cottage has great ocean views and the kitchen is perfect for preparing your own meals; the king hideaway bed is surprisingly comfortable (with great views out to the water). The cottage is minutes away from great hikes and ocean beaches. A romantic getaway spot for sure. We will be back! Thanks Sheila!
This is a perfect property for a getaway on Lummi Island. It is a beautiful studio with amazing views. It is across the street from the very popular Friday night salmon BBQ and a minute away from the ferry. The kitchen is well equipped -just be sure to grocery shop before getting on the ferry if you're planning on making your own meals. There is a small market nearby but it's very limited. The studio seems rustic but has very modern amenities and is quite comfortable.
We were very pleasantly surprised at this beautiful little cottage on the ocean. The pictures on VRBO don't do it justice, since it is even more beautiful in person. This cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, stocked with all the amenities you need, and in a prime location. The view from the cottage is just incredible, with the amazing sunsets and sunrise, with the mountains and the ocean as a back drop. It doesn't get much better. My husband and I only got to stay for one night, and definitely would book longer the next time since once you are there, you don't want to leave. The cottage is so cozy that we spent most of our time there, which we weren't planning, but was just what the doctor ordered.
The owners are wonderful, very accommodating, very pleasant, and make sure that your stay is one to remember. We definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in need of rejuvenation and a reminder about how amazing life truly is.
This place is absolutely beautiful, and very cozy and the view is amazing. Sheila and David are very kind and welcoming people with such sweet dogs. I was a little worried at first about the sofa bed, haven't had good experiences in the past. But there was no need to worry. I can say with absolute certainty that the king size hide a bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on, even better than my bed at home! It was definitely hard to leave this place! Can't beat it for the price! We'll definitely be back!
Thanks again Sheila and David!
Thank you David and Sheila for the wonderful hospitality during our week on the island.
Even though I was working some of the time, we sincerely enjoyed every moment in the cabin, on the deck, in the yard with the dogs, and on the beach.
And thank you for introducing us to so many intriguing people during the artist tour weekend.
We look forward to relocating to the area and spending many more long weekends unwinding on the island!
The property listing does not do justice alone to what awaits you when you first step inside. If your travels bring you from a hectic long distance journey to reach the island, you will be instantly placed into a calm and relaxing state of mind when you walk into the cabin and see the oceanfront views. The property is well maintained and all amenities are accurately described. The owners are on the property and very helpful for any questions or concerns. You can spend the day just listening to the sounds of the water nearby and the watching the wildlife. You are even greeted by two curious pets of the owners, Mia and Jacque. The Island has many places to explore by simply walking or bicycling. I recommend a hike up Lummi Mountain, if you have the stamina for the ascent. Learning about the ancient reef net fishing method of the Lummi Island Tribe is also a great way to get out on the water. If you choose to prepare your meals while at the cabin , you will find a well appointed kitchen. You can find a reasonable selection of food items at the island grocery store. I also found the Beach Store Cafe to have a nice selection of seafood entrees and wood fired pizza. Enjoy.
