The apartment is located on the 1st floor of an elevator building in the historic Baixa district. It is in the heart of the center of Lisbon, next door to traditional commerce, fashion stores and to numerous traditional and 'new' restaurants. It is also a short walking distance from other picturesque neighborhoods like Castle (S. Jorge), Alfama, Chiado, and Bairro Alto.

The building is located on a pedestrian street full of fashionable shops and open-air restaurants.

It is also walking distance to the subway and train stations that can take you to the beaches around Lisbon,to Sintra and to all the sightseeing in and outside the city.
Why Michael and Cristina chose Baixa

We love to walk everywhere. The apartment is downtown in the pedestrian zone of Lisbon. Most of the things we do in the city we can reach by foot. If we do go to concerts or museums that are a litte further, the subway station Chiado/Baixa is 2 blocks and there are 2 subway lines that take us anywhere!

The Baixa is the 'downtown' of Lisbon. It is the historical center, that was destroyed in 1755, after the earthquake and got it's unique grid appearance from city planners (unlike the rest of historic Lisbon which is just winding small roads) It boasts grand building and you will be living in one of them!

The apartment was everything we hope for and exactly as described by Michael and Cristina! The windowscould have been cleaner, but that was pretty much it, in the complaints department .. Definitely would recommend!

All in all we were very happy with the apartment - clean, confortable and couldn´t ask for a better location. The people of Lisbon are extremely friendly and helpful ( from our experience! ) and we would definitely visit again as we did not have enough time to do even half of what we would have liked. ( Most of which were recommendations from Maria - thank you !
