We came to the Big Bend from Austin in 2002, never expecting any visitors from our past. But we had so many visitors that we built a guest house for family, old friends, and new friends.

Kathy Bork purchased this house in 2012

From The Little Tin Guest House it's an easy walk to the golf course, the city park and pool, the grocery store, and restaurants. And it's walking weather in Alpine almost any time of year. If you don't feel like walking, The Little Tin Guest House provides 2 mountain bikes and helmets.

Comfortable, open floor plan. Priced right. Perfect for 2 days or 2 weeks.

great for our family of 4

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in Alpine for 4 nights at the little tin guest house, and it was perfect for us and our two small kids. Everything looked new and very clean, everything worked easily and as expected, including the wifi, plenty of things stocked up from coffee and trash bags, towels, bikes, games, etc. Great location in short distance to the main part of Alpine, the park, the community pool and Sul Ross University. I would definitely recommend to family and friends, it was a bargain and very comfortable.

Little Tin Shack

The accommodations were very nice and well located. However the VRBO reservation system bordered on complete incompetence. If it wasn’t for an owner willing to work out the problems with the system, we would not have been able to stay there. The VRBO website was impossible to use and even worse to make changes. We recommended the owner get rid of VRBO. The truth is, if we wanted to stay in a rental that used VRBO we wouldn’t!

Clean, comfortable, home away from home

  • 5 of 5
I got a new job in Alpine that I needed to start right away, so I chose the Little Tin Guest House as my temporary home base while I looked for a more permanent home. It had everything I needed: plenty of kitchen stuff to cook basic meals, a washer/dryer, internet, even a bike I could use to explore the area. The place was super comfortable and cute as well, and the owner was very friendly and easy to work with. I will definitely recommend this place to any friends or family of mine who want a cozy, private place to stay on their own in Alpine.

A really nice space

  • 4 of 5
Booked this last minute for the Alpine Art Fest. Located between sol ross and downtown. The outside is a bit deceiving. Inside, the space is very clean and functional, with good kitchen and dining area. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (better than at a lot of hotels). We were there the weekend of a big ice storm, so we didn't use the outdoor tables, grill or bikes. Overall, would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful choice in Alpine

  • 5 of 5
The Little Tin Guest House is the perfect place to stay while you are in Alpine. The location is near the park/Country Club/Kokernot Field area, and is a quick trip away from downtown. The area outdoors is perfect for nighttime stargazing, even in the middle of the surrounding homes. Everything is provided, including a full kitchen, cooking utensils, outdoor grill, and wireless internet access. The decor is simple and modern, with a European flair. There are even a couple bicycles to tool around town with! We were very pleased, and will most definitely stay here again.
