About Kathy Bork

We came to the Big Bend from Austin in 2002, never expecting any visitors from our past. But we had so many visitors that we built a guest house for family, old friends, and new friends.

Kathy Bork purchased this house in 2012

Why Kathy Bork chose Alpine

From The Little Tin Guest House it's an easy walk to the golf course, the city park and pool, the grocery store, and restaurants. And it's walking weather in Alpine almost any time of year. If you don't feel like walking, The Little Tin Guest House provides 2 mountain bikes and helmets.

What makes this house unique

Comfortable, open floor plan. Priced right. Perfect for 2 days or 2 weeks.

Wonderful, clean, well designed guest house

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at the Little Tin Guest House for Spring Break 2015. We thought staying so far from Big Bend would be a drag given the 90 minute drive. We made the drive 3 days straight to hike and ride horses and found the drive to be both beautiful and relaxing going in the morning and returning in the evening. The day we spent North of Alpine, in and around Fort Davis, was also surprisingly entertaining. We stayed at the house with our 15 year old son who enjoyed the wifi. It was the perfect size for us and allowed us to cook morning and evening meals. Very clean, well maintained and it had everything we needed. The owner is accessible and very involved in the rental of her guest house. Neighborhood is QUIET!!

comfortable, well located, well equipped - The best!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the Little Tin Guesthouse for a month in the middle of winter and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The guesthouse is perfectly equipped, everything from the kitchen to bicycles to comfortable bedding and towels. The owners couldn't be nicer; they even provide you with a bin for recycling, which says a lot about their attention to detail. (I stay in a lot of vacation rentals, and I find this incredibly refreshing that they care enough to recycle as not many people do.) The guesthouse stayed warm even on the coldest nights. Plus, it's perfectly located for those lovely sunny days when a walk in the park is almost mandatory. All in all, the Little Tin Guesthouse is the best vacation rental we've ever booked. So glad we found you!

Love It In Alpine!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cute little house is great. So very well thought out . Clean, very clean. Very comfortable especially the beds . Thickest towels I have ever used. Well equipped kitchen. Wonderful base for our eight night high desert Christmas vacation. Do come to this area and go to Big Bend and hike, there are trails for any level or difficulty. Keep, the road hot going to the Davis mtns to the north . Go to Marfa and ride the back streets and admire the historic homes. Do a big loop drive one day down to Big Bend Ranch State park back up to Marfa then home to Alpine. Up in the Davis Mtns do seek out the Madera Canyon Trail . Sweet little loop walk. Do visit the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University. We loved the two grocery stores Porters thrift way the old and new . I highly reccomend The Saddle Club for some local brew Big Bend IPA OR Hefeweizen and those yummy yummy Kobe beef sliders. be sure to get up in the middle of the night and go outside and look at those stars...that dark Texas sky....Oh I will be back

The Little Tin Guest House was an excellent location to stay in Alpine and was perfectly located for exploring the Big Bend region on a girls' trip. We very much enjoyed our stay.
