COZY A-FRAME CABIN, LOCATED IN THE SCENIC BRISTOL HILLS

Honeoye Cabin Rental Photos and Description

One Bedroom Loft With Amazing Views

Deep in the woods on 38 private acres, only one mile from Bristol Mountain. Be as secluded as you want or as connected as you want with Wi-Fi, HD cable TV and excellent cell phone coverage. The only other property on our 38 acres, is our Bristol Cabin, also available on VRBO (#484719). The two cabins are 200 - 300 yards apart, and not in sight of each other.

During the winter months, you really need a four wheel drive vehicle if it is snowy or icy The driveway gets plowed, but that doesn't always eliminate slippery spots if it stays below freezing. The driveway is very long with hills. If you come in a two wheel drive vehicle and it is snowy or icy, your chances of getting all the way up are 50/50.

Suitability:
  • wheelchair inaccessible
  • non smoking only
  • children welcome
  • Minimum Age Limit for Renters
  • pets considered

My wife Mary Jane (MJ) and I and our three grown children (Sarah, Ben and Tim) are an adventure family. We sail, ski, bike, hike and more. We have lived in many different parts of the country and love Rochester's proximity to the great lakes, the finger lakes and the Bristol hills. We couldn't ask for more things to do in all seasons.

Jeff or Mary Jane Jones purchased this cabin in 2006

This property, nestled on 38 private acres in the heart of the Bristol Hills, is just a 'different world' for us. Only 35 minutes away from our primary residence in Fairport, NY, we come to the Bristol Hills often, whenever we need to get away, relax and have fun.

Their are beautiful views in all directions and from every window. Peaceful, quiet and always a ton of things to do while enjoying nature. Only a short drive to Canadaigua, Naples and Rochester, NY.

Peaceful and quiet

  • 4 of 5
We found the A-frame to be spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The surrounding woods and trails were wonderful! Very secluded and quiet with beautiful bird chirping and singing early in the morning (which we loved). The amenities included were very satisfactory and the gift of wine was much appreciated! Nice touch! The stairs are steep, but very solid with good solid railings, too, so were not a problem. The queen-sized pull-out sofa wasn't particularly comfortable for me (but I'm old! LOL) and I folded it up and slept on the sofa itself, which proved to be very comfortable and plenty roomy. Fifteen years ago I would have appreciated more the woods and trails, but my daughter loved walking (and running) them. I walked some, but have back trouble so couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have otherwise. I would certainly recommend the A-frame for two or three people as a quiet, very peaceful get-away, though! Thanks again for the hospitality!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for all your very nice comments. We always try to pay special attention to detail and have everything just the way we would want it if we were staying. As you pointed out well, there can be a few downsides for older guests. Considering the A-Frame's unique design, the steps to the upstairs loft bedroom are a bit steeper than normal, and we do have only one regular bedroom, which results in the use of a pullout couch/bed downstairs if needed. Most people love the unique design and setting of the "A", and do not mind the few minor drawbacks, such as the stairs. Considering the pullout couch, they ares never as comfortable as a regular bed, however, this one is brand new and about as comfortable as one could be. Our most common guests, are couples, or small families with 1 or 2 school age kids. For most of them, the A-Frame is perfect! For anyone who may want a little more comfort, we recommend staying at our other cabin (484719), which is on our same 38 acre property and is a very traditional in design and layout, This cabin does not have any of the downsides of the A-Frames unique design. Thanks again, for your nice comments and thank you foe staying with us.!

Fun Getaway!

  • 5 of 5
I had a great time at the A-frame. Beautiful views and the main town is only about a 15 minute drive. The owners were fantastic to deal with. The cabin is very clean and tidy so it makes you want to keep it that way when your there. Going back in July.

Great property

  • 5 of 5
The owners are awesome and take great care of the property, including making sure you have everything you need. BOTH cabins on the property are worth staying at, and we even think it would be great to get together with someone you know and rent both places together. Super close to skiing in Bristol, and being able to bring our dogs made it that much better. Would love to return in the warmer months!

Owner's Response: Taylor - Thank you very much for the nice review. We try hard to treat all our guests like family. We prepare our cabins carefully, trying to anticipate the arriving guests needs. MJ and I love both of the cabins and the Bristol Hills and we want our guests to feel the same way and want to return time and time again. We also appreciate all our guest ideas and suggestions, in support of our continuous improvemt goals.

Notes:
The A-Frame was built in the 1940's. We fell in love with the building, it's contents and the location and purchased it in 2006. As our budget allowed, we restored the building, including a new metal roof, all new windows, new floor, new fireplace and heat, etc. Our goal was to maintain as much of the historic style, contents and ruggedness as possible, while restoring the basic structure. We finally completed renovation during 2012 and listed the property as a vacation rental in the fourth quarter of the year. It was a long road, but is now beautiful and functional. You won't be disappointed!
