La Grange Sud is a large, luxurious refurbished French farmhouse, situated in a beautiful area of the Western Dordogne overlooking the fairways of the prestige golf course of Château des Vigiers which also has a Michelin Star. Close to the towns of Bergerac, St Foy La Grande, Duras and Eymet. The villa is full of charm and character, yet modernised to the highest standards with extensive facilities. The holiday property has been designed and equipped for outdoor living. It has a large (9x5m) private, heated swimming pool with a retractable cover. It can be used as an indoor or outdoor pool. The villa has grounds of an acre, which are ideal for general relaxation and sporting activities. The terrace is perfect for BBQs and 'al fresco' dining or simply enjoying the views over the garden and golf course. This luxury villa in the Dordogne, is built of local stone which has the advantage of being cool during the hot summers. It has oil fired central heating, with radiators in all rooms and a fireplace in the lounge.

The pool and terraces have been designed to produce the maximum space for guests whilst also maximising individual space. The 9x5m pool is surrounded by a terrace. The pool is fitted with a retractable telescopic pool cover. There are 3 terraces;1.A large balcony overlooking the golf course is wonderful for the morning sun, with patio furniture for dining, and also sofas and a swing seat for completely relaxing 2. Terracing around the pool with a dining table for 8 and 6 sunloungers 3. Terracing outside the Yellow room and kitchen. There is atmospheric lighting in the pool which means it can be used late into the evening. The gardens extend to over 1 acre. There is a trampoline, and for 2012 season there will be a pool table. There are 6 adult Raleigh bikes and 2 golf trolleys and bags. If you wish to play golf, please enquire re the reduced course rates while holidaying. There are numerous board games, books and dvd's in the house.

The farmhouse has an openplan sitting room and dining room. This room is full of character with the original stone walls and tiled floors. Located within the sitting room is an entertainment area which includes a 42in HD plasma TV connected to a DVD and VCR. There is a wide selection of DVD's and games and also a small library. The kitchen leads from the dining room. The kitchen has a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and oak fitted units. It also has a large gas oven and hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. The dining area in the kitchen can accommodate 6. The kitchen opens through double French doors, onto a small tiled terrace, which then leads onto the main pool terrace. There is a charcoal and gas BBQ, and table and chairs on the terrace ideal for dining.

The farmhouse has 3 ensuite bedrooms.

Downstairs is the Lavender room, with French doors leading to the balcony and beautiful views. It also has a window overlooking the pool.

The second downstairs bedroom is the Yellow room with an ensuite bathroom, with traditional French bath.

The upstairs Rose room has an ensuite shower room and a flat screen tv.

All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers, and all beds have high quality mattresses. Each guest is provided with a pool towel and 2 bathroom towels. There are mosquito nets over all master beds.

About Tracey Jones

I live in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England with my husband Adi and golden retriever Holly. We both grew up in Wiltshire and raised our family here too. We have a daughter and son, who both live abroad. We enjoy living in England but also visiting them often. Adi works as self employed in the Finance sector and I look after Acabanes and La Grange; the bookings, the website and also I am chief painter and decorator and gardener! In the 14 years since we had our first letting season I have been on a steep learning curve on how to get building work completed on time and problem solving for guests when things unexpectedly go wrong! Why Tracey Jones chose Razac de Saussignac

After the success of our first holiday property www.acabanes.co.uk 10 minutes away, we decided to look for a smaller farmhouse which would accommodate smaller groups. We decided to buy La Grange as the location was perfect, overlooking the golf course, www.vigier.com and on the edge of a hamlet. It is also a beautiful house with lots of character.

What makes this villa unique

Beautiful location over looking Chateau Vigiers golf course, which also has a Michelin Star restaurant and is only a short walk away. Lots of wildlife in the area. Good area for cycling, dog walking and bird spotting on quiet lanes and through the vines. Only 20 mins from Bergerac airport.

Luxury and tranquility in the perfect location

Great location and nicely put together Gite makes the perfect recipe for a relaxing holiday. Couldn't get closer to the Golf at Chateau des Vigiers, yet perfect for non-golfers too. We had a relaxing stay and used the heated pool daily and ventured out to recommended restaurants and markets which were all excellent. Lots of local vineyards to visit and we found a wonderful one near Duras called Domaine Gourdon who had excellent wine! We'll certainly be back!!

Perfect Property in a Beautiful Location

Having stayed in a nearby property in October 2014 with family and friends, we wanted to come back out of season to try the area again. Travelling as a couple this time, we had a very relaxing break in the beautiful surroundings. The house has everything you need for a great holiday whether travelling as a couple, family or group of friends. It is very clean, well maintained and well equipped. The help and information provided by the owner ahead of our visit was second to none and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this property to family and friends (and have done so).

Pre Christmas shopping holiday.

A week at la grange was a perfect way to get ready for christmas. We stocked up on local wines to take back home. We also went christmas shopping to bordeaux and bergerac. We also stocked up on foie gras and other special foods. Will return next year.

Fantastic holiday & added bonus of golf!

What a great Spring holiday we had at La Grange! We loved the cottage with the beams and open fire making it really special and romantic. The central heating was also appreciated accasionally in the evenings, but the cottage keeps very cosy so it wasn't needed often. We enjoyed playing golf at Chateau Vigiers very much. We also loved wine tasting in Monbazillac and St Emillion and of course locally with Caro at Feely Wines in Saussignac. Being keen cyclists we were delighted to find that all the bikes at La Grange were new and of excellent standard to road cycling and we enjoyed many long rides on quiet single track country lanes. We usually ended up at a restaurant of course, with the Tour de Vent being memorable and also Famille Moutiers.

We usually managed lunch on the balcony in the sun, and in the evenings really relaxed with a DVD and local wine! Thanks for lots of memories for a special holiday and hope to return next March.

Fantastic golfing retreat

Very impressive, peaceful property. The house itself feels welcoming from the moment you enter. We were shocked at how well the house is kitted out. Board games, golf trolleys, hundreds of DVD's, memory foam mattress. Fantastic! Everything was so easy to find and use. It's quite clear someone's gone to a great deal of effort to make you feel at home whist on holiday in the South of France. The local golf course is great, 27 holes, and there's a view from the pool/terrace down to a few golf holes in a valley. We spent a few nights in a lovely town, 15 minutes away, called Eymet. Tasty pizza restaurant and a few bars, the village itself is very picturesque. We all had a great time, will book next year for sure. Thanks

Great location and excellent villa

Early spring break in this lovely villa.It has been equipped to the highest standard and benefits from central heating as well as a fireplace in the lounge so is ideal for breaks at any time of the year.The weather was perfect for golfing, and the non golfers can even wave to the golfers in the party when they play the hole in front of La Grange.We enjoyed lovely walks in the surrounding countryside and also visiting the many pretty villages in the area. Loads of superb restaurants to enjoy delicious meals.Everything is provided at L a Grange if you like to eat in, including traditional and gas BBQs.It is not the first time we have stayed here, and we highly recommend it, to groups of all ages.

This luxury villa farmhouse is located adjacent to Chateau des Vigiers www.vigiers.com, with views over the fairways. It is situated in South West France, in a lovely area of the Western Dordogne, close to the towns of Bergerac, Duras and Eymet and one hour drive east of Bordeaux. Six hours driving time of St Malo port. The nearest large town is Bergerac, twenty minutes north east of the house. Arcachon and the Atlantic coast is 90 mins.

It is situated in a small hamlet of 8 houses, and a 3 minute walk to a another hamlet, with a sports field, volleyball net and football goals.

The large village of Siguoles is a 15 minute drive and has all the amenities of a typical French village including a restaurant,supermarket; boulangerie; charcuterie; tabac; bank; cafe; pharmacy.

St Foy la Grande is the nearest small town, an 8 minute drive with a wonderful Saturday market. St Foy is a typical French market town and a pleasure to visit. The house is located in an area of vineyards and gently rolling wooded hills.

Golf: The farmhouse is wonderfully placed for a golfing holiday. There are several courses to choose from and Chateau Vigiers is adjacent to the house, and a 2 minute drive. Discounted golf rounds have been negotiated for our guests. Please contact the owner, Tracey Jones for any required golf information. Tee times can be booked in advance by owner. There are trolley bags and trolleys at the property for the guests use. There are many other golf courses in the area - please contact owner for full information on location and prices.
