The noble county of Burgau has around 10,000 inhabitants and is situated in the middle of Mindel valley in a geological configuration, surrounded by fantastic bathing lakes and beautiful woods just made for letting your hair down and relaxing. Local attractions include Legoland in Günzburg, just 10 km away, and lots of well-maintained cycle ways along the river valleys of the Mindel, Kammel, Günz and Danube, a turf trail, a barefoot park, the towns of Ulm on the Danube (50 km) with world-famous Ulm Minster and Augsburg, the Mozart town, (50 km) with its ‘doll’s trunk’, the ‘gaps’ the town theatre circle and the cathedral. In the nearby Swabian Alp you’ll find several caves to explore and the Blautopf in Blaubeuren (Blue pot in blueberries!) (54 km), as well as the castles of King Ludwig II and the Bodensee with Mainau, its island, no more than 1.5 km away.
