Centerville Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3+ Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms w/ Central Air and Minutes from the Beach

A bright and airy three bedroom cottage, Slimbridge includes a first floor bedroom with queen size bed and first floor bath with shower. The upstairs master has a pillow top king size bed with direct access to a full bath. The third bedroom, also upstairs, has twin beds. A fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, glass top stove/oven, microwave and plenty of dishes, pots and pans, cutlery and small appliances (toaster, blender, slow-cooker, griddle, etc). Cable TV, High-speed Internet access and local and long distance phone are included. All windows have screens to allow the sea breezes to cool the house, but should the weather turn excessively warm, the house has central air conditioning. The living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player with plenty of comfy seating. The dining room table will easily seat 8 people for meals or a rousing game of cards or board game. There's even a reading nook for the bibliophile in the group! The walkout basement has a family room with a queen size pull out sofa bed and a twin bed with trundle.

When you arrive, your beds will have been made up with fresh linens. Towels and wash cloths, are also provided, so no need to bring them from home. You will also find a Welcome Book on the coffee table with instructions for use of everything from the TV to the washer and dryer. And another book we call the 'Book of Where' with suggestions for restaurants, ferries, places of worship and museums. Feel free to add brochures of places you would recommend while you are there.

Outside is a deck with wicker furniture and a gas grill, which can be accessed by a ramp or steps. A nice yard and surrounding woods give children plenty of space to run and explore. We also have an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt and sand after a day at the beach. Speaking of the beach, we also provide sand toys, beach chairs and a beach parking pass!

Our family has been vacationing on The Cape for years. We love it here and look forward to giving you the opportunity to join in the fun we've had. It's a perfect spot for summer fun, but The Cape is also beautiful in the fall, winter and spring. This home would be a perfect spot for your family vacation or a get-away weekend.

About Bill and Debbie Tudor

We both retired in 2011. Bill was a purchasing agent and Debbie an elementary teacher. We have 3 wonderful children and 4 delightful grands. You'll find the house is furnished with visitors of all ages in mind.

Bill and Debbie Tudor purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Bill and Debbie Tudor chose Centerville

After years of vacationing with family on the Cape, our kids convinced us it was time to buy a place of our own. Our Realtor showed us several properties, but when we pulled up to this house, we knew it was 'the one.' Once you see it and spend some time here you'll know what we mean.

What makes this cottage unique

Our family loves that Slimbridge Cottage is minutes from the beach and the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. It's also not far from the Cape Cod Rail Trail, a 25 mile paved bike and walking path. We love taking visitors to Plimouth Plantation and the Mayflower which is about 45 minutes away. There are ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket right here in Hyannis or you can drive to Falmouth or Woods Hole if you want a shorter 'ocean voyage'. Fresh seafood is abundant either from the local fish market or at any of the wonderful restaurants. If live theater is your thing, the Melody Tent is about a 5 minute drive. Are you a baseball fan? The Cape Cod Baseball League is one of the premiere summer leagues spotlighting the best collegiate talent. The Hyannis team plays about a 10 minute drive from our place! Probably one of the most amazing things about this place is the peace and quiet. It has woods on three sides with many beautiful birds and is on a cul de sac where our grandchildren can play and explore.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful place. I suggest going on the whale watch. We saw many whales and had a great day. Also went on wine tasting which was a great time, too. Thanks!! Hope to do it again.

Even better than anticipated

  • 5 of 5

Bill and Debbie were kind and easy to work with from our very first inquiry about their property. When we arrived, everything was very clean and the home was stocked with supplies that were very well thought out. Our kids were overjoyed when they saw a collection of their favorite books in each bedroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. We felt at home instantly and enjoyed a wonderful week. We were attending a week long Bible conference which we also take as our family vacation. The location was perfect to get everywhere in Hyannis, minutes from the mall, restaurants and best of all, minutes from the event we were attending each day. The neighborhood is a quiet cul de sac so it felt tucked away. We even went to the beach one day and were able to dip in the water with the kids even though it was mid April. We cannot wait to return to slimbridge cottage. We have traveled and stayed in many places, this was by far the best we have found. Thank you Bill and Debbie for everything!

Wonderful Girls Gettaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful stay we had! We four "besties" had been looking forward to our gettaway for months and we were not disappointed! We arrived to a cosy, warm, lit house and were delighted by how lovely it was. We had a ball exploring the house- so spacious & comfortable-we really felt like we had arrived home! We spent our evenings curled up in the living room watching chick flicks and the days exploring the MANY attractions, beaches and restaurants nearby. It was an ideal location-the neighborhood feels tucked away but everything is very close. Our favourite spots were Chatham (lots of great window shopping!) and Afternoon Tea in Sandwich. The owner, Debbie & Bill couldn't have been more nice or helpful and we just felt spoiled by how perfect a situation it was. We left full of happy memories and are excited to return in the future!

Owner's Response: So happy to hear you and your friends enjoyed your stay. I hosted a girls' getaway in October, myself! The cottage is a perfect spot for a weekend, a week or longer. Thank you for your kind review. Should you decide to head towards the Cape in the future, I hope you'll consider staying at Slimbridge again.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear your vacation was all you wanted it to be. We have tried to equip the cottage with everything you might need including the usual dishes and pots and pans, but also little extras like a griddle, lobster pot and claw crackers, cork screw and wine glasses, to name a few. We look forward to booking your next visit. Thank you!

Great home in fabulous location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (all adults) stayed for a week in August. The home was very comfortable with plenty of sleeping space and a well-appointed kitchen. The neighborhood felt very private, though everything was very close. It was a wonderful location centrally located to get to Boston on one end and Provincetown on the other end. My 78-year-old mother was with us and had a very easy time with the ramp to the back door, walk-in shower and grab bars. Very easy jaunt to Nantucket Island, Provincetown, whale watching, beach activities -- anything you could want to do and still be back at the home without a long drive. Owners were very responsive and provided lots of wonderful information about restaurants, etc. along with a beach pass for visiting all the local beaches. Absolutely recommend!

Owner's Response: I agree, our central location is a real plus. Visitors can drive to ferries, restaurants, historic sites, Melody Tent and even the mall within minutes. I'm glad you mentioned the ramp and shower amenities. This year we have had several guests who found them helpful. I hope your first trip to the Cape won't be your last!!

Kansas to the coast

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time with our family in this wonderful home. It is small enough to feel like home and large enough that the rest of the family could find peace from my young children when needed! We enjoyed visiting the attractions and were thankful for suggestions in the book. We loved the ice cream shop and the church we visited, and my children's first visit to the ocean. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Owner's Response: We have the "Book of Where" on the coffee table to give visitors new to the Cape ideas for places to eat and things to do. Several people have commented it was useful. So happy your mid-west children had an opportunity to see the ocean - quite an amazing sight.

Incredible Place of Rest & Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

What an incredible treasured spot. The property is clean, well-maintained and everything we needed or desired was thought of/or provided. The owners were most helpful in answering questions and concerns and even provide a manual with useful information for tourists and for those who may need help in figuring out how to turn on the TV (perfect for me). The property is located in a beautiful, peaceful neighborhood not far from the beach, walking paths, and among many other things, the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory (which you can tour for free on a rainy day). It was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to all. It is worth every penny and I look forward to staying there again.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your kind review. We love the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory, too! Glad you found the Welcome Book to be helpful. It seems like every TV, heating/cooling system, and appliance works a little differently from house to house. The book is there to answer questions about the various mechanics of the cottage. Sounds like it was useful. We look forward to your next trip to the Cape!
