Ocean Breeze is a private short term rental house on a spectacular turquoise bay. Its Location on Great Exuma Island in the Bahamas is 200 miles south of Miami, Florida. Great Exuma is the main Island of a mostly uninhabited, 120-mile long archipelago of 365 cays that stretch southeast from Nassau. The house is nestled on a beautiful, secluded, private road and is used as a weekly rental property for families. The home enjoys a lush privacy that features beautiful Caribbean gardens and has a magical short exotic tropical path that leads to a private iron shore, complete with steps cut into the stone that take you into warm crystal clear sandy bottomed waters. There is a large private gazebo that sits but a few feet away from the sea and has a full view of the water. The snorkeling along this waters edge is phenomenal and chock full of marine life.
The home itself is located on a hill-top with an extraordinary view of Georgetown's Elizabeth harbor. Sit on the spacious coral stone veranda and watch the boats come and go in the harbor, or enjoy an equally quiet evening counting the shooting stars during the stunning starlit nights. The house is a two bedroom, two bathroom home furnished in chic tropical decor. It has a master bedroom with a king sized bed,outstanding veiw of the water, luxury linens and a master bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, luxury linens and garden view with a separate door to outside waterfront path and garden. Enjoy privacy and quiet peaceful still nights with the water lapping and light breezes through the palm trees.
Ocean Breeze is located just a short walk from a liquor and convenience store and the towns only pharmacy, also only a five minute drive to charming Georgetown where you will find the Straw Market, grocery store, banks, government services, boat rentals and much more. There are also many restaurants located around this easily accessible island where you can enjoy the local fare; such as Peas and Rice, Cracked Conch, and Bahamian Spiny Lobster. Don't miss our favorite 'The Weekend Buffet' at Exuma Point where you can experience many of the local delicacies and walk the sun-drenched powder white sand beach for miles. Or head further east to the Tropic of Cancer beach named because the actual tropic line cuts through the heart of this stunning beach; or continue further into Williamstown to where, while filming 'Pirate's of the Caribbean', Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast and crew whiled away many of their free hours a favorite hang out- 'Santana's open air beach bar.' There are so many opportunities to enjoy the sounds and flavors of the Bahamas on this jewel of the Bahamian archipelago. You may also like to take a water taxi to Stocking Island, a five minute ride, and enjoy a beach day and a Conch salad at Big D's Conch Shack or the “almost world famous” 'Chat and Chill'.
Other fun opportunities abound on this tropical paradise such as snorkeling or diving, day/ half day trips to the hidden treasures of Exuma. In these crystal clear waters, ranging from pale aqua to deep sapphire, the bottom never seems out of reach. The crown jewel is the Exumas Cays Land and Sea Park, 174 square miles of fish-filled waters and miniscule cays populated with tropical birds, fauna, and the faded ruins of British Loyalist plantations. Anglers will find a haven outside the Park. The Exuma Flats are world-renowned for challenging bone-fishing and the 6,000-foot depths of Exuma Sound typically yield record amounts of Marlin and other spectacular game fish (chartering for these trips is available).
